Still a lot of races to go, Verstappen can't feel comfortable anymore and Red Bull can already feel the heat.
The break is coming at a good time for them, they need to make some changes if they want to maintain the dominance.

They should have made the change with Perez, I really don't understand where the support for that guy is coming from.

As there is a strong sponsorship support on Perez, Red Bull couldn't give up on him that easy. Besides he wasn't this bad last season however he is terrible this season. Even if they bring a rookie driver from F2 in his place, they would collect more points than him. It is sad but true. Red Bull has their constructor championship chance at risk from now on. There are still many races to take place in the season. McLaren is getting closer every time.  Smiley

Verstappen hasn't scored full points in a few races now, but the competition is still some way behind and the clear rival who is also gaining points on Norris, for example, hasn't performed well enough in the last few races to be a real threat to Verstappen.

Everyone else is already a long way behind, we'll have to wait and see how the cars perform after the summer break, no team is going to stand still and Red Bull is in danger of losing the constructors' title compared to the drivers' title.

Somebody please give to the McLaren team the holy golden grail of stupidity,I thought Ferrari did badly enough with poor Leclerc but boy was I wrong, these guys here at McLaren are definitely porting stupidity and another level,I would say at another planet.Wow I am truly impressed of how much of an idiot you must be to have put poor Piastri in and give away victory to Mercedes,if Russell did it with a clearly a bit slower car than McLaren then McLaren could have definitely won this race, another one that it is ruined by such perfect architects of plain stupidity regarding a plan for the race, and I am a McLaren fan.

4 races in a row without a win for Red Bull, who would have thought that at the beginning of the season.
With Perez helping out with 26!! points in the last 8 races, their position in the constructors race is under serious threat.

After a few boring years, we might actually have a fantastic end to the season.
Hamilton 2 wins and 3 podiums in the last 3 races as well, Mercedes looks crazy fast all of the sudden.

Interesting twist and final win for Hamilton in Belgian Grand Prix!
I knew he was going to perform good this time, he loves driving here and he won several times, but what a blow that was for Russell disqualification.
I dont know if someone tried to cheat with making his car lighter, but that reminded me on one movie I watched when ancient romans did the same trick in racing.
Superbru leaderboard changed after they removed Russell, and I am not far from top 10 positions.

FML I almost got bottom again, someone has to tell me what's the secret of getting things right even with qualifiers being so crazy, and race results changing, yet I end up bottom again and again. Well hehe ok last week was my own fault:P

I really should stop backing Norris and throwing away money.
His starts are constantly bad without them he would have been in contention for F1 World Championship.
Not sure if it's a psychological problem or skill issue.
And F1 is becoming "boring" again Mercedes is just too dominant Cheesy

I think now the smart bets is not winner anymore but maybe Podium finishes. So many weird concoctions in F1 this season, but honestly, we all like it right? I mean I was asking for it all season so now I have it, at least we get to enjoy each others mistakes in Superbru lol

Congrats to ILuckyGuyI for winning the Belgian Grand Prix Yellow Cap @ Superbru

Congrats to darxiaomi for winning the Belgian GP Challenge

I really can't believe this happened. I won a yellow cap after the race ended and reached the first place in the leaderboard. But now I have lost everything suddenly after Russell's disqualification because of 1.5 kilograms.  Cry

When I look at the race calendar I see that we are vacant for around 1 month. I can barely calm down in this time period. Cheesy

Congrats to ILuckyGuyI for winning the Belgian Grand Prix Yellow Cap @ Superbru

Congrats to darxiaomi for winning the Belgian GP Challenge

Thank you. It was really unexpected though.  Grin  After Russell got disqualified the whole grid shifted by one place. But the interesting thing is that I was going to rise to 3rd place in the first case but now I can't despite the yellow cap.  Cheesy

But maybe I could turn this into advantage by the free bet coming from this one, let's see. Russell must be really frustrated by the way. He made a very big effort by saving his tyres for 30+ laps. He was clearly the driver of the day.

However being disqualified because of the car weighing 1.5 kg less than the normal level sucks (796.5 kg - 798 kg). Sometimes I don't understand how even top teams can make this kind of mistakes.  Sad

It seems that Russel will be disqualified and win will be awarded to Hamilton:
https://twitter.com/FastestPitStop/status/1817590776463007860/history
His car was under mimimum weight.

I also just read that Russel could still be disqualified because of the weight. Hopefully there will be a decision soon and it won't take the whole summer break again.

I think the final result will be known tomorrow.
No, it's already official, George Russel has been officially disqualified from the race. I wonder which result will be taken into account by Superbru and by sportsbooks. I guess most of bookies have already paid the outcome of Russel's victory. Some of them could cancel the bet and the payment though, leading to some bad surprises for the winning bettors. Other sportsbooks paying several hours after the official results of the events, such as Freebitcoin should pay the actual official outcome IMO.

Quote
After being referred to the stewards, it was confirmed that Russell had been disqualified from the race. As such, Hamilton is promoted to P1, while Oscar Piastri now takes P2 and Charles Leclerc moves up to P3.

The results of the race on formula1.com haven't been updated up to know btw.

Edit: Superbru has taken Hamilton as actual winner.

4 races in a row without a win from RedBull and at this point I'm starting to think that they have been lucky at the start of the season because they clearly don't have the faster car on track by far. Sure , there will be tracks where RedBull will be able to win again but at this point , McLaren and even Mercedes are looking way better than RedBull. Another problem that seems to persist for RedBull is Sergio Perez who cannot find any pace on that car and won't help his team with vital points and rumors are that in Imola , Ricciardo and Lawson will go for a time trial for that 2nd car of RedBull.  Shocked

Today , I must say Mercedes had a brilliant idea to go just for 1 stop with Russel and it paid big time as he won the race. I think RedBull could have done the same with Perez and even Ferrari with Sainz ...but they didn't.
I don't think that they were lucky. Such dominance that they had can't be luck. But after that Mercedes and Mlcaren improved a lot. Still, having so many different race winners isn't bad thing for Max, as long as he finish races quite high. There is no single driver who is getting lot of points consistently that would be threat for Max and his champion title.

I wasn't able to watch qualifying, and it seems that I missed some interesting things. Verstappen taking pole by 0.6 seconds, it's been a while since there was such huge gap in qualifying. Yeah, he will start from 10th place, but considering that they're racing in Spa and if he will keep such pace, we can expect very interesting race tomorrow.

Exactly Verstappen was unbeatable in qualifying, but it was also changing weather conditions, so should it be dry tomorrow, the situation will be completely different again, according to the weather forecast for tomorrow it looks like it will be dry conditions.

I don't know if it was because of Verstappen or becaue of the new power unit or because of the rain that he was on another planet making the fastest lap half second faster than the second guy.Sure McLaren did well as a car but their drivers unfortunately both fail to give their maximum in the rain as they are not experienced drivers in the rain like Hamilton or Verstappen.I had Norris as the top guy and keeping him although in here starting from the 4th place is no big problem considering how fast this track is and how many DRS zones are in this track,it should be a good one,one thing I am sure,it is not going to be anyone getting more than 20 points from the starting line up in here.

Max's penalty suggests he shouldn't have dominated like that though, no?

I changed all my picks after qualifiers. Usually stick with what I already entered, the EB points always seemed too precious, but my initial podium finishers appear to be completely out of whack with the starting positions.

So are mine yet I know in this track most drivers can finish off the track in a bit, just one wrong steering command and boom we have the Safety Car in,of course most of the times the Safety Car in here is not present because the track is wide enough and the only place where Safety Car can come in is in the first turn.I doubt anyone was bold enough yesterday to put Leclerc on podium except some fanatic Ferrari fan so I assume most people are starting out with just 2 points.I didn't change my predictions because I see this track as a really long one with a lot of overtaking possibilities so why not go bold,it is either make it or break it yet I like this kind of situation.

I told you guys Ferrari has a good chance to do something in Spa-Francorchamps and Leclerc won the first place in qualifications and pole position.
One of my picks was also on Hamilton and I placed a nice bet on him in Sportsbet, he is starting from third place and I think he can win tomorrow.
It is going to be interesting to see what Verstappen can do starting from 11th place, but maybe Perez saves the day for team Red Bull.

Let's hope they will also have race pace tomorrow because Leclerc do have a fair chance to actually win the race if he stays long enough in 1st position and won't give up against Perez in the first 4-5 laps. Actually he was 2nd place and only took pole because Max a 10 grid penalty for changing his mku engine or something similar but even with this , a pole is a pole and Ferrari should do a proper strategy tomorrow to keep Leclerc in 1st place or at least secure a podium.
