For the drivers, I think we can see the difference in experience with Max and Lewis. It's really with experience that you could win more.

I agree. Experience makes big difference in this sport. I remember Piastri making simple mistakes sometimes because of still being a rookie in F1. We see it less often with experienced drivers. Hamilton had a great chance there and he didn't waste it. In the first times of the season I was feeling like Hamilton wasn't competitive anymore because of announcing his deal with Ferrari. But it looks like I was wrong.  Grin

By the way Perez looks likely to be sent from Red Bull quite soon. Because things are getting more serious while other teams are on the rise. They shouldn't listen to Verstappen on this topic if they want to keep winning constructor championships.

I think the point is... Sainz! come on... either you change your agent or ask Checo Perez for his agent's phone number...   Wink

noblox Congratulations, yeah 1 It's good to see those at the bottom win in that way.  Roll Eyes

Or the point is, we'll never understand what goes on behind the scenes. You know, ever since Newcastle did all kinds of things I didn't see as logical, but later learnt that it benefited the owners (the business) greatly, I've now come to understand that profit doesn't always necessarily align with sporting interest.

I'm almost certain it's the same, if not elevated, in Formula 1.

Nice barb at notblox1 haha

Damn, Russell was really unlucky. I wanted to put him in 3rd place on my podium. I wish I put Hamilton there for podium bonus.  Roll Eyes  I never expected him to win the race honestly. I thought Mercedes would lose pace during the race but the situation was totally different. Verstappen is aware that they aren't the fastest by far anymore but he still did a good job despite having big difficulties.

I thought Norris would win the race but thanks to McLaren he lost a big chance... After a very slow pit stop he couldn't catch up with Hamilton and even lost 2nd place. Anyway it is still a good week for me in the pool though.
This was the same thought that I had when I was trying to put my guesses in. I mostly based on the qualifying and since Mercedes 1 and 2, I have put Russell as the winner and it's just that he is unlucky. For the drivers, I think we can see the difference in experience with Max and Lewis. It's really with experience that you could win more.

Very exciting weekend for the England, without a doubt. But the significant thing is to see Hamilton winning after almost 3 years... and covering up comments (gossip...)

../:::
Another fantastic performance from Perez, his agent must be the employee of the millenium.

I forgot these guys have agents. My old school brain always reverts to "guy must really know how to **** ****".

Hey... I don't know if you are referring your comment* to the Pool Smiley but anyway, in that line of ideas, I maintained 4th place all season until now... and right now in the middle of the season, I fall to seventh place... I think that at the level of positions, if no there is the regularity in the average points is easy to get out of the top 5, and in a disaster of take bad decisions to get out of top 10.

(*I think it's something Landon Norris would say.) /  Smiley

Not bad, notblox1, not bad. Really not sure how I didn't see it coming. End of the Hamilton hoodoo in the end, and 2 British wins in a week, people on the Isles must be having the time of their life.
Thanks buwaytress, I wanted to go with Hamilton to win because I know he loves Silverstone, but I chickened out in the end  Grin
This is not enough points for me to make big moves in Superbru leaderboard but every win and freebet counts.
Now I am 16.5 points away from the top and need a lot more points.

Does anyone know reward distribution for F1 pool?

I think that the pool is already 50% over and another 50% remains in what is the longest season in F1 history and if someone would have asked me to sign it to be just 2 points behind the 1st place after 12 races I would definitely do so.Still though I feel a big sadness from yesterday race especially when a team like McLaren lost it because of bad decisions. Now I look forward to the most boring track of the whole calendar or better second most boring after the Monaco race.

If its the most boring then I better just stick to qualification results I guess Wink

Now playing almost for nothing also except yellow caps. Seems like a long season indeed, I didn't realize it was actually the longest in history. Guess it's all about squeezing in as many races as possible, boring or not so?

Poor George Russel, he can grab some very important points yesterday, plus maybe he can fight for the win if he recover a little after the pit stop.

About Checo Perez and Leclerc, no words for boths, what a super shit race made for both and by far the worst management made by the team, Ferrari really killed the race of Leclerc with that risky move.

Fantastic race from Hamilton - how he was able to preserve his soft tyres was a masterclass.
And I should have followed market movements and placed an each-way bet on Hamilton.
His odds were steaming significantly before the qualifying as if a "Barney Curley gamble" was taking place Cheesy

Today , I think even his haters were happy for him and he really deserves respect from everyone.  Cool
It was a long time coming. It was an extra emotional win for Lewis and Mercedes as this was their last home race together. Lewis in Mercedes created history and it is a bittersweet feeling to see him leave.

Definitely the best race for me this season so far. Multiple overtakes, different race leaders and well-thought of strategy calls. I hope we finish the second half of the season as exciting as the first one.

What to say, Hamilton's got a special connection with Silverstone. I hope he wins the 10th one as well.

Vettel just made a post by saying "GOAT" towards Lewis Hamilton and by all means he might be right. Personally I can't deny Lewis being the GOAT because if he will manage to carry this shape he is currently in with Ferrari ( in hope Ferrari can provide him with a title car ) , I do see him fighting for his 8th title no matter who his rivals will be. Today , I think even his haters were happy for him and he really deserves respect from everyone.  Cool

Today's race didn't disappointed at all. Great Lewis win, can't believe that more than 3 years passed since his last win. So, finally. That bit of rain made race so much interesting. It seems that 2nd place was best thing what Verstappen could achieve today, he didn't had pace to fight for the win.
Perez finished 2 laps behind, what a disgrace, back in the day dudes like Albon or Kvyat were kicked out from Rd Bull for much less.

What a pathetic team choices by McLaren today, two key moments, the first one where they should have gone for a double change and in fact they let Oscar out which cost him the race or at least the podium. The biggest error though came with mounting the soft tires for Norris where clear indication in radio were from his team mate that the mediums are the most perfect tire for this track, can't believe they thrown out the win they had in hand in such an amateur way,wow totally unbelievable.Anyway Lewis just set a new record today, that of being the only driver in the world to have won 9 times a single circuit, exactly this of his home race at Silverstone. For the pool though I doubt anyone has more than 13 points here and if someone has good luck to him as he will be back in winning prizes spots.
Yeah, Mclaren strategy cost them so much. It was strange decision to keep Piastri out was strange, just in 1 lap he lost so much. While on the same time Mercedes made double pit stop without losing time

Mercedes really made it quite a big show this year, agree. Hope its not a one season wonder thing, and I love to see RB drivers feeling the heat, well ok Perez doesn't seem to care Tongue

At least it gives us bottom guys more motivation to keep trying Smiley

Personally , I hope Piastri will emerge out of nowhere and secure another podium because this kid deserves everything good that happens to him in F1 so far.

Yes yes, I wouldn't mind losing everything to see someone like Oscar get his win. I mean, this season already we saw many unexpected winners, but this guy was actually a consistent good driver, just without anything to prove it. Kinda like Harry Kane of F1 before he moved lol.

Don't forget to put in all your picks for next race. Don't worry @CLS63 if you think you're a failure look at the rest of us.

I can't believe Max odds to win is soooo small, Lando Norris has been pushing him so hard the last few races you should think odds would be something like 2x for him and 3x for Norris maybe.

There must be something fishy going on I see Hulkenberg odds is less than 100x, usually he is way below.

Thanks I didn't forget about making them. But I couldn't predict the pole winner.  Grin  It was a quite different result of course. Is there anyone who predicted Russell pole? I was indecisive between Verstappen and Norris but chose Verstappen later. He was really bad today. I still hope to see him climbing to top to be competitive for the win. I'm worried about Norris to win. I thought of putting him to top but changed my mind. I hope I don't regret it.

I think Norris has the best chance to win tomorrow under normal conditions as Mercedes despite looking great in the single lap qualifying in the race they have usually failed miserably, this is a track much different than Austria,in here overtaking is extremely very much possible and I think McLaren will play their card not in the early start of the race but during the first pit stop,Norris if he can pass both Mercedes in the first stint it would be great yet if not I am sure he can be staying close enough to the Mercedes to pass them through the pit stop.I have a high trust in a big failure and tire degradation of the Mercedes cars tomorrow and as such I believe Norris to have really big chances of winning the race.Verstappen and Redbull look far from being competitive in this track and they never were even when the car was much better than this in previous years.

The problem with Mercedes is that their car doesn't have a very great race pace and that might cost them the victory tomorrow. There is also a possibility for them to win if Hamilton will play in team and will try to keep Norris in 3rd place as much as he can because in this way I could see Russel having a smooth race and giving time for Mercedes to think a great pitlane stop.

Personally , I hope Piastri will emerge out of nowhere and secure another podium because this kid deserves everything good that happens to him in F1 so far.

I don't think Hamilton can do much in this track especially in the second part of it where DRS is enabled, the only way I see them winning is like Sainz did in Singapore last season, which gave DRS on purpose to the second driver so he can have DRS too,Russell needs to do this in order to give a chance to Hamilton to keep Norris behind, still by doing that it doesn't mean anything because Norris will be near and can pass them through the pit stop,I doubt Mercedes team will be fast enough on pit stops compared to McLaren which hold the world record of 1.80 seconds.Anything can happen but if rain is here it will be a totally unpredictable and emotion full race.

Anyone activated the traveltime machine?

Are we in 2018? Are we back on Mercedes dominance? hahahaha ton of time without seeing a 1-2 for Mercedes.
If I am not mistaken, this is the first Mercedes 1-2 in about 3 years now. Mercedes and McLaren are really surprising me esp when they weren't exactly part of the title fight during the first part of the season but is now looking very strong.

What happen with RedBull?
It has become obvious that this is not the same car that Max Verstappen won with last year. They are clearly not the fastest car anymore but Max is still winning races because he is just good and as for Perez well....
Quote
and for Ferrari no words, is always the same, is incredible how they start to drop in the mid season until the end.
Ferrari's consistency in being inconsistent is amazing truly. Everyone thought this season would be between The RedBulls and the Ferraris but both not in good places right now
