If the pool stays like this even after this last race in this weekend before the 1 month break I think it is the most competitive pool ever, just less than 5 points in top 8 places and I think that everyone has equal chances now that into the equation are also bullshit team orders which we have never seen before and they can impact our predictions really hard,be it for the best or for the worse,I found myself hit hard for the worse in this first call of McLaren hopefully they don't do it again or the fight in between both drivers of the team would become huge like we had crashes before,Vettel vs Webber and Hamilton vs Rosberg.

I missed yellow cap only by 0.5 points.  Sad  Congrats Spack17 on that yellow cap! By the way if Norris won the race I guess things would be worse for me so I have no problem with McLaren's call there.  Tongue

However I'm thinking that McLaren's decision didn't make sense. Norris is fighting for a title in the end. Yeah, maybe the point difference with Verstappen is still wide but it isn't impossible as of now.

I believe the fastest car on the grid is McLaren at the moment. Red Bull is far away from those strong days. We are in a new race week now. It is on Spa-Francorchamps track and after this one we are going to take a break of a month.

Nice McLaren drama in the end, I think the team shouldn't have meddled and just pitted and let both drivers race, they'd both have been happy. Now you have two possibly unhappy drivers. But this season has to be something of a record for number of different champions and maiden wins (that's 3 already if I recall correctly?). And we still have many races to go!

Nah, Piastri is without a win and he wouldn't have been happy with 'let them race' method.
I'm all for it, don't get me wrong, and I consider F1 to be primarily an individual sport and secondly a team one. However, the team decided to pit Norris first to protect the team from Hamilton, it was clearly told to both drivers that the order would have to be restored.

From a team perspective, letting Norris win would have been the right call - after all, he's got a theoretical chance of pushing Verstappen for the title. Piastri does not, so I was really surprised by the call.

I understand the call. Piastri was leading, the unwritten rule is that he chooses who pits first.
The team decided tactically that Norris should do it, and after Piastri lost the lead it was clear that the team will ask Norris to let him pass.

I'm actually surprised that it took him so long to accept it, but his post-race comments were actually quite fair.

By the unwritten rule it is correct to let Piastri back to the front, but in terms of the world championship I don't understand McLaren's move at all, the now missing 7 points could be very close in the end, and personally I don't think much of a stable order either. But that's how it turned out and Norris accepted the stable order.

The races themselves are boring as fuck and FIA makes them even more. That is a way how to make fans go away, overall the only ones to blame are at McLaren,
I agree. Team orders are boring and they should do real racing instead. However I would imagine that if Norris had won, it would be very awkward for everyone. It’s totally not the drivers’ fault as Mclaren could have made better strategy calls. I do feel bad for both the drivers. I am sure giving up a win is never easy and having everyone call your maiden win a gifted one could not be any easier as well.

This race reminds me of one with Vettel and Webber where Vettel were given team orders but did not follow it and won the grand prix. Multi21, as they call it (iykyk) Wink.

McLaren should stop worrying about the opposition and try to be extra smart.
In Silverstone they were worrying too much about Hamilton and now again when Norris 2nd place was actually never in danger.
They should have called Piastri first into the pits and none of this drama would have happened.
Both decisions backfired and make them look quite amateurish.
But they weren't the only ones what Racing Bulls did with Ricciardo was on par if not worse Cheesy

This is the problem with no BSFL, I totally forgot to send my picks for this F1. Was there a reminder or tag? Because I missed it I guess  Sad

Not that I can win anymore with so far behind in total points but this miss ensures I totally gave myself zero chance.

Seems like a great race, new winner, Max pressure into collission. This is the season we were all asking for right Smiley

I also had Norris as a winner and also I didn't get it what McLaren did.If I were the FIA,I would put a new rule,1000 million Euros who give such team orders, these are pure bullshit and they remove the excitement from a race. The races themselves are boring as fuck and FIA makes them even more. That is a way how to make fans go away, overall the only ones to blame are at McLaren, what a ridiculous move, not making any congrats to Piastri as he got out of track when he had 4.7 seconds advantage and made it go to 1.5,soon after Norris passed in him in pits,no reason to give the place back,I would not enjoy that much such a win especially it is my first in F1 sport, things have changed for sure.

Well, it's not something that doesn't happen at any time, but the discussion on the radio in the middle of the race is incredible... It is are "rigging" in sports, it's like when a team allows itself to score certain goals...

In Strange Things, we almost missed seeing Checo stay in the classification table above Max,5 more laps...  Smiley

in " rigging", it is not a violation of any rule!

McLaren put a spanner in the works with the stable order at the end. Because I had Norris as the winner, but that's just the way it is. Verstappen was lucky that he was able to continue after the accident with Hamilton. Otherwise it was once again a somewhat exciting race with a new winner in Formula 1.

A really interesting and boring race was left behind.  Smiley  There was a conflict between Norris and the team about giving his place to Piastri. But I didn't understand this logic at all. Because McLaren called Norris to pit first and Piastri couldn't catch up with Norris after his pit as well. Why would Norris want to give his place? He still obeyed the order but I'm sure he is very frustrated. Congratulations to Piastri on his first career win in Formula 1!

Verstappen was the victim of Red Bull's strategy mistakes. Mercedes went for an undercut and this destroyed his race. He was so angry with the team. You can find an example of it below.  Grin

I also added Norris for pole position and thankfully he won it.  Smiley  Tsunoda's crash also helped there as well. Because if we didn't have that red flag in such a critical moment maybe Verstappen might have stolen pole position. I thought Mercedes would do good too but Russell had a horrible day. Anyway it looks like we are going to watch a really nice competition tomorrow. Because Piastri also looks very sharp which can be understood from his finishing qualifying in the 2nd position.

When I saw the fastest lap of Norris I was not worried anymore after seeing that Verstappen could not get past him although he was -0.199 faster in the first sector,in the second and third one he lost a lot so for me I was not worried at all.I hope Norris can win in this race and I get some nice points,I am not aiming for being first although the top 4 is very narrow in points, just 2 between all of us,I am aiming for being consistent enough in every single race so I can get a decent prize in the end of the pool,in such pool where I have won in all previous editions prizes consistency has been key.

Perez just did what he does best or in other words to screw everything in the maximum possible way,it just happened again today,he didn't even pass Q1 and the first red flag was because of him.I think that McLaren is the best car out there,Norris made a killer 2nd and 3rd sector and even though Verstappen did a -0.199 in the first sector he lost more than half a second in the 2nd and 3rd one.

I am glad I hit Norris for the qualifier and also for the win if the weather improves a bit and it is always better to start with 3 points rather than with 2 before the race starts  Grin.
It seems that Perez is doing everything what he can that Red Bull would sack him ASAP. I don't know what happened to him that from decent back wing he turned into such joke. But damn, what a great qualification again, such tiny margins between Top 3 - Norris, Piastri and Verstappen.
Very high temeperatures and no chance of rain tomorrow and we can expect to see interesting race.

hahaha yes man, seems like he want to be sacked and payed the whole contract to leave his seat, so he earn a big chunk of money in his wallet and go to race in other team or competition as soon as possible.

We have left the first 2 practice sessions behind. Ferrari finally look much better.  Smiley  2 drivers were in top 3 in the 1st session and Sainz maintained his presence in top 3 in the 2nd session too. Norris looked pretty good in the last session by taking the 1st position. Currently the odds for the qualifying winner are like 2.24 for Verstappen and 4.00 for Norris. Ferrari follow with 9.00. They are favoured more than Mercedes at this weekend.

By the way Leclerc crashed his car during the last session and it was his fault as far as I can see.

That is correct. It seems RedBull have a huge upgrade on their car on many departments so that should bring a big of confidence to Perez too ? Because if he won't score important points this weekend , I'm afraid he won't catch the next seat for next year even if he has a signed contract.

https://racingnews365.com/full-scale-of-red-bulls-huge-hungarian-gp-upgrade-revealed

Thanks for clarifying it mate.  Smiley  Perez looked better in the last practice session. I hope he has a better finish this time. My expectation from Red Bull is really big this time but it depends on Perez's performance mainly.

No worries , glad to help.

Just 1 hour until we can see if RedBull upgrade works for Perez as well because his team really depends on him to score important points but also having a solid qualification session and hopefully he will deliver in both of them.

Nevertheless , Ferrari is looking very good in this track and I won't be surprised if Charles will snatch a top 3 in qualification but also I can see Sainz doing a top 5 as well and that will result in important points for Ferrari. However,  currently Norris has the best chance after Verstappen to actually win the qualifiers but I really cannot see Norris winning here and most likely Max will snatch the pole.
