Edit:  Jfc...  The line for Verstappen is priced at 1.12 now with Perez next at 14.  I think there's some value with Hamilton at 21 as the long break could've helped Merc figure some of their sht out.
1.12 really seems to be very low.  Huh
Verstappen to win in Baku is currently at 1.39 on Sportsbet.io, which seems to be reasonable. Baku is a street circuit and a crash can always happen, making a Safety Car also likely and a Safety Car (or even a red flag) can always bring us a surprise and change leaders.
Perez shouldn't be underestimated as well. He's performing better in street circuits but Max is favored to win of course.

You are right however the calendar could have been updated after the Chinese GP was cancelled. 4 races in 5 weeks after a three-week break will make things difficult for the race calendar of  teams. Intercontinental logistic transportation can really leave teams in a difficult situation.

I hope that we can see other teams getting closer to Red Bull even a little in the Azerbaijan GP that will take place next weekend.

Max already has 1.20 odds to win Azerbaijan GP ...so that should take away all the remaining hype for the rest of the teams. Even in Hamilton era, the odds were not so brutal in his favor and he was around 1.40 usually so this means that RedBull car is miles away from the rest of the grid. I also still think that this season of F1 is so look alike with 2001 title run of Schumacher when he had almost 60 points in front of 2nd place and this is why I don't see anyone fighting with RedBull now or for the rest of the season.

That's funny..  I mean yeah, Verstappen clearly wins the next race judging from what we've seen so far but in F1, there's always that chance that another car hits you at the starting lap or some technical problem happens.  We just never know.  And for the line being at 1.20 makes it obvious that the books don't want us to bet on Verstappen...  Was Hamilton ever lined at 1.20 before the race during his days of dominance?

As there can be a misfortune anytime in motorsports I always find chasing surprises more sensible than making bets on this kind of low odds. You must be remembering how Verstappen was out of the race while he was the leader in Baku. I really lost a lot of money on that day. I still couldn't forget it although there has been a long time since then. Smiley

Yeah, two more weeks  Cry This is because of the China GP got canceled, otherwise, we wouldn't have this long of a pause.

Yes, it is a pity that the China Grand Prix cannot take place because of the Corona measures there. But this break will also pass, after that Formula 1 has a busy programme again until the summer break.

Baku will be an exciting event for sure, a lot of new teams are coming with upgrades, and I'm not talking only "track specific" front and back wings.

Last year, RedBull dominated there ahead of Mercedes, Ferrari retired there with both cars, I think the victory will go to RedBull again this year, I hope Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari have worked well in the meantime to break the dominance of RedBull.

Yeah, I agree, there were plenty of options one of which, as per usual - Turkey Grin

We aren't used to not seeing any race for this much long at the beginning of the season already. It feels like we are in a summer break now.  Grin  F1 lovers must be really frustrated about this situation - at least I am.

Of course this season looks like it will be under another Verstappen domination. F1 is full of surprising incidents of course so there isn't any guarantee for anything. But as long as we don't see many problems happening for Red Bull side I don't think they would have big difficulties. They are even preparing a new upgrade package for the Azerbaijan GP ahead. As far as I've heard they will be a little faster by this race. This is very bad news for the other teams unless they are able to keep up with Red Bull.

I think it's too late for this, FIA is losing it if they keep like this. They need to have stronger opinions that wont chance when someone is not agreeing to it.

FIA and Ferrari are going to discuss Sainz's penalty in the Australian GP again. I was also thinking that Sainz deserved this penalty at first. However I didn't take into account that his tyres were cold and experts said that the position was gray. Despite everything I don't think a change in the decision is fitting the spirit of the sport after this much time passed.

I absolutely agree with this. Red Bull are much more ahead of the other teams now. I wouldn't even be surpised if Red Bull drivers win all of the races this season. However it wouldn't be a very big surprise for me if Leclerc gets the third place in Azerbaijan as well.

Leclerc did an error in Australia since the very first lap and this shows his character in my opinion as he is not as stable psychologically like winning drivers,he did the same in Imola last year,he could not hold the fans pressure and got out of the race almost completely and now in the last race he did the same, this is much different than winning drivers mentality, for example I never have seen Michael Schumacher caring that much about the first lap as he knew the race is long and anything can happen,so Leclerc needs to correct this, needs to be more cool headed otherwise I think he will just continue to be a mediocre driver and not a winning one.

^  Sorry to say this but it still wouldn't be good enough against Red Bull.  They're just ahead in car development at this point.  But wishing both Mercedes and Ferrari get their sht together and be more competitive by the time we're at the European GP's.

I'm more curious about how the Aston Martins would do on a track with lots of straights.  Half hoping Alonso could snag the second spot at the podium.

Azerbaijan track is a much more fitting one for Ferrari because the number of straights is big. Even though I accept that they are worse than the previous season I think Ferrari can't show their full performance this year. It wouldn't be a very big surprise for me to see Leclerc on podium 3 weeks later.

The race calendar this season is really very bad. It is nonsense that the teams have only 1 week to go to Miami from Azerbaijan after a three-week break.

it was a great race, pity that ended up with another Max victory
nevertheless, it suggests that we can see competitive Mercedes throughout the season, new car suits them well, and Hamilton showed that he can compete with it, Russell was not that lucky for a car to suit him till the end
Perez could not end up on podium, it was too much to overtake during the race, and LeClerc had another early incident
Verstappen's victory was not really surprising, what surprised me was Mercedes, Alonso and Aston Martin is currently the strongest combination behind RedBull. Really disappointing this season so far is Ferrari and Leclerc, I would have thought Leclerc would get back on track, but it doesn't look like, there is still some time until the next race at the end of April, let's see if Ferrari can make a move in the meantime.
But with Perez winning one race shows just how competitive these teammates are. And everybody seems to forget about their backup driver, Daniel Ricciardo.
Who looked to have the most fun from all the chaos on the track, well because he didn't have take part of all the insanity and getting paid either way.
I don't see a scenario where we'll see him take his place in the cockpit of one of those RB cars this season.
So he has the easiest job of all the drivers of F!. Just at Red Bull control and smiling for the rest of the year.

As for Ferrari, I see Sainz as having the worst luck out of the two. He worked all the way to the last two laps then got slapped with that penalty which shouldn't have occurred since according to the FIA that lap didn't exist to them in this race.
They have the weirdest decisions while the race is happening live of any sport in the world.

So I managed to completely forget about F1 over the weekend, checked and I saw I had a relatively poor performance, thanks largely to all the DNFs... so much so even my old "fav" Tsunoda finally got AT their first point haha.

So loads of drama, and supposedly expected, I really need to read up on the next track to see if there will be similar predictions -- these always seem to take drivers out (LeClerc on Lap 1 being the most magnificent dud).

The next one is exactly one that last year saw both Ferraris out because of mechanical problems and is a really heavy city track for the cars, usually in this race less than 16.5 cars end the race there. It is going to be an epic race in Azerbaijan this time but we have to wait for about 3 weeks from now as it takes time before this race takes place.Predictions we have said several times that we need to make after the Saturday early morning practices so we can have a better picture before putting our picks and that is what you must do.I also had a lot of DNF choices in this race but also a lot of other had the same,as we saw 12 points was the maximum.
