Honestly, Superbru's description doesn't make much sense.
First part marked in red means, we need to make our predictions before qualifying (Friday) to get Early Bru Points, second part marked in red means, we need to make our predictions before sprint race (Saturday) to get Early Bru Points.  Huh
I'm confused because it's contradictory...
Maybe it's best if we assume to get in our picks before qualifying (Friday) since it's always about Early Bru Points to be submitted before qualifying (which will determine race grid positions on Sunday).

I also found it a bit confusing, but maybe the "Tip" at the bottom is still from last year and they forgot to change it?
Yes, probably it's still not updated and / or got copied unreviwed into the draft as it's a new procedure, so I'll submit my prediction ahead of Friday's qualifying.

Just a quick question (don't know if it's suited better here or in Sportsbet.io's topic): are you planning to add boosted odds for F1 bets as well at some point?
Would be a nice feature to have boosed odds for F1 as well.  Smiley

I think after a lot of years, and when i say a lot of years, are a lot of years, since 2008 Ferrari its no longer reliable for any, no matter the kind.
They had their good times when Michael Schumacher was driving for them, money was flowing and everything was great.
Dont forget that Ferrari has by far most constructors and engine titles from all other teams in history, and they are one of the first who started formula one.

Honestly, Superbru's description doesn't make much sense.
Just make your predictions early and dont worry about it Wink
Already done and I'll change it ahead of qualifying after FP1.  Wink
But after only 1 FP session, it'll be difficult to make a good prediction.
At least it's adding some excitement for our predictions, too.
And teams will need to find out about possible setup issues quickly, maybe it'll add some randomness for going into qualifying if some teams have a bad setup and can't change it due to lack of data, where normally much more free practice is done.

I sometimes cant open leaderboard in Superbru, they are always doing some maintanence work and they are slow updating results, but I dont know any better alternative.
And dont forget to make forum predictions for F1 Prediction Contest.

This year the sprint races are different from last year, there was a change, the pole position for Sunday will be held on Friday, the pole position for the sprint race will be held on Saturday morning, so I think it will be important to place your bet on Friday before the qualifying in the Superbru to get the bonus points.

I hope i understand the rule changes correct.

I checked Superbru and here's what it says about sprint races for bonus points.

Quote
Important: Sprint race
This Grand Prix features a Sprint Race, but following a change to the sprint format by F1, sprints no longer decide the grid for Sunday's main race. As a result, sprint races are no longer significant on Superbru for this season, and the EBP pick deadline is set for the designated qualifying session for Sunday's race which takes place on Friday. Full explainer here.

In Superbru, the pick deadline for Early Bru Points will therefore be the start of qualifying on Friday. When picking pole, you are still picking the driver who will start the race at the front of the grid, after any penalties have been applied.

Tip: make all your picks before the sprint race to earn an Early Bru Point (EBP) worth 2pts. If you change picks after the sprint race starts, you'll lose your EBP.

They always bluff and say, yes we worked on bla bla bla, and when the time to show comes, they always lack, so i dont trust them anymore, plus the only time when they really come with a super engine.... well you know that engine was a pure fraud to the rules.

Lets see what updates and news the teams brings up.

In another thing im not following so much the news this lasts weeks, but i see one, and it was a important one, Mercedes claim to be more more dfaster than before, and also they again put in  charge his former director, so lets see what they bring in this GP or in a few more.

I also don't have a favourite for the race yet and how well the teams have worked in the meantime, especially Ferrari should have worked hard in the break, am still very undecided about my tip. I'll probably give my tip after the first practice and go with my gut feeling. Mercedes could be an insider's tip, even though they had big problems with bouncing/porpoising last year.

Is it really Saturday for qualifying? It's a little bit confusing because as far as I know, F1 is planning changes where a sprint race weekend will look different now:

There have been some news like Red Bull will bring new updates to the car for the Azerbaijan GP. If the car gets even faster than this I just can't imagine how much ahead they can be against their rivals. Verstappen is already a driver with great skills and we all know what he can do with a this much fast car already. For now it seems like this is his season again unless we see a big improvement from the other teams.

I hope to see Ferrari starting to do something by this race. Because they made a horrible start unlike my expectation from them. The big change in the team made me more hopeful about their future but for now the feeling is only a disappointment. By the way I hope Ferrari replace Xavi with someone else. I'm afraid he is really bad with calls for the drivers. We have witnessed especially Leclerc's complaining to him many times due to being bad at making decisions in crucial moments.

I received an email just now about F1 qualifying from Superbru, and it's definitely Friday. Yes, I came to the forum immediately to say it, how nice am I? Or how worryingly misprioritised with my Wednesday heh heh.

No idea how things will change, read the email but not much registered on my morning brain, so I'm going to do a wee bit of research later tomorrow to see if I can make good on my current Superbru standing.

Noticed I got 3 poles right, but not a single Fastest Lap so far. This needs to change.

I think that we won't lose any points if we change them before Saturday.
Is it really Saturday for qualifying? It's a little bit confusing because as far as I know, F1 is planning changes where a sprint race weekend will look different now:

Friday
FP1
Qualifying for race
___
Saturday
Qualifying for sprint race
Sprint race
____
Sunday
Race

For normal weekends, it's FP 1 and 2 on Friday, FP3 and Qualifying on Saturday and race on Sunday for weekends, where no spring is taking place and last season,
For previous weekends, it's FP 1 and qualifying for sprint race on Friday, FP3 and sprint race on Saturday, where sprint races will determine grid positions for the race and and race will be hold on Sunday for sprint weekends.

It's not sure which format will be applied, as far as I know, teams are voting tomorrow (and it's likely to be a new format described above (Qualifying for Spring and Race will be different)).
It's a little bit confusing but I believe we will see qualifying on Friday evening, where FP2 is placed normally.  Cheesy
Teams want to intruduce a separate qualifying for race and sprint race because if a sprint race determines starting grid positions, it's always a procession as drivers won't risk much to crash out and start the race from behind. By separating sprint and race, drivers can risk more to avoid a bad starting grid position due to a sprint race crash.
I assume, SuperBru is not updated yet but make sure to get your predictions in early.  Smiley

They sure had enough time to fix a couple of things,as it is almost one month that we are without racing and not only Mercedes all the teams had enough time to improve their cars.No matter these claims it will be only the track that will tell if teams have indeed improved and Mercedes is much faster as they claim.I doubt they would have improved as much as they claim as Redbull has been quiet from some time meaning they keep their head down and they also upgrade their car just like other teams are doing.

The track is a great one to be used as an indicator to check teams performance as one lap is well over 1 minute and 30 seconds if I recall correctly, being one of the longest tracks of the calendar,it will make sure to see the true power of the cars if they have indeed improved or not.

I don't think any team can get past Red Bull in this season. However I hope them to get close to Red Bull a little at least.

By the way when do we need to make our predictions to be able to earn EBP as there is a sprint race too? I'm new to this format here so I wouldn't like to lose those extra points. Because after examining the system on Superbru it looks like collecting EBP before every race is very important. It can even be the decider for the winner at the end of the season.  Smiley

Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume that we are going to watch a sprint race in Azerbaijan for the first time in F1 history. It looks like it will be really enjoyable to watch a sprint race on this track. As it is a street track as well I just say why not watch a sprint race here. Of course I don't mean that we should watch a sprint race in Monaco as well.  Grin  It would be the most boring and meaningless sprint race I assume.

Yeah, two more weeks  Cry This is because of the China GP got canceled, otherwise, we wouldn't have this long of a pause.

Yes, it is a pity that the China Grand Prix cannot take place because of the Corona measures there. But this break will also pass, after that Formula 1 has a busy programme again until the summer break.

Baku will be an exciting event for sure, a lot of new teams are coming with upgrades, and I'm not talking only "track specific" front and back wings.

Last year, RedBull dominated there ahead of Mercedes, Ferrari retired there with both cars, I think the victory will go to RedBull again this year, I hope Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari have worked well in the meantime to break the dominance of RedBull.

I'm hoping for some chaos, it's a street race after all. Checo could get going again  Cheesy

There is only a week to go for the next race, Azerbaijan GP. I think this Grand Prix has one of the most special races in the calendar. I don't like to watch the Monaco GP much for example. Maybe it is also a street race but the track is very tight and it is near impossible to overtake each other there. Honestly I wouldn't be disappointed if Monaco GP is even removed from the calendar by the next season.  Grin

But as for Azerbaijan GP it isn't the same at all. Overtakes are quite possible and the track is really well-organized. We have watched really exciting and delightful races on this track so far. I still can't forget about Verstappen's having a blowout by pushing hard in a race on this track. Who knows maybe we will witness another very surprising incident again this time.

It would be really nice though after the legendary Australian GP.  Grin  This can make people become more interested in this season.

Hey Guys! As the two Premier League teams sponsored by Sportsbet.io are facing each other today, I want to announce that they are organizing a very special event on the forum. You can visit the topic for details.

----

The races organized on street tracks are always open for a surprise more. And if we consider the fact that Perez is more successful on street tracks, 5.00 odd for Perez to win the race feels sensible to me.

Edit:  Jfc...  The line for Verstappen is priced at 1.12 now with Perez next at 14.  I think there's some value with Hamilton at 21 as the long break could've helped Merc figure some of their sht out.
1.12 really seems to be very low.  Huh
Verstappen to win in Baku is currently at 1.39 on Sportsbet.io, which seems to be reasonable. Baku is a street circuit and a crash can always happen, making a Safety Car also likely and a Safety Car (or even a red flag) can always bring us a surprise and change leaders.
Perez shouldn't be underestimated as well. He's performing better in street circuits but Max is favored to win of course.

I think that finally we will have a good weekend with a race event.Perez has won more street circuits than Verstappen but this does not mean that he will be more favored,as always we have to see the Friday free practices and Saturday morning practice (which not every race has it) and only then to decide on our picks on the pool and also on whom to bet on.In this circuit last year we saw Ferrari failures of both cars meaning is a track which is heavy for the cars and especially for the brakes as we have seen in past seasons even Redbull failures because of the brakes. For me is not worth risking money on 1.39 odd as in F1 I think the lowest odd should be something like 1.75 and up.
