Congratulations to 1miau for winning the round, I think he was the only one to see Ocon on the podium, Well done, it could have been 18 points but the EBP=0 took away that incredible score.

Congratulations, 16 points is impressive and that's without the bonus points.

Leclerc was very good in qualy but he got a 3 places grid penalty after the qualifying.
If he had started from position 3, he might be on the podium instead of Ocon.

It takes a bit of luck of course, did you change your prediction after it became official that Leclerc was moved back or did you change it a second time after qualifying? I think it took an hour for the official announcement to be made...  Huh

Yes, horrible race from Perez and he seemed to be frustrated the whole race being stuck behind very slow cars and he couldn't overtake.

That Perez had to take full risk and also risked something is clear, the first stop was a good tactical move, however, and Perez was able to catch up with the field again quickly but then he also made mistakes of his own. Then only full risk.

"Volles Risiko": Bei Sergio Perez ist Helmut Marko alles "wurscht"

Holy wow, not bad 1miau, was that a random shot out of the blue or did you actually know what you were doing?
I've just changed my picks from what I had before qualy to the order of the starting grid as it's extremely hard to overtake in Monaco and Perez / Stroll had a bad qualifying. Even Perez couldn't overtake many cars as he started from the back of the grid.
Unfortunately, the rain still shaked up the grid a bit, where my Yuki lost his points position against Norris and Piastri.
I didn't expect rain as most forecasts have been dry but luckily, Russell, who pitted early for intermediate tyres (rain tyres) binned it in one corner, where he lost his position against Ocon again.
So, after all my idea was: overtaking will be very hard in Monaco, so not many position swaps will occur.
And in the end, a bit luck was involved.

Anyway, I've now slipped down several spots -- serves me right for believing in the hype of Monaco's son, and as pointed out by swogerino, this was probably the best time to wait and see, losing the precious 2 EBP for a great jump in points.

In most tracks that is the way to go to not change anything but I have changed my mind about Monaco,I will gladly lose the EBP points next time around here.
Exactly, that was my idea behind changing my picks.  Smiley
But the rain could have messed up it completely as I didn't expect rain.

He surely was awake, the worse driver of the race of today and there should also be a worse driver of the day vote instead of only driver of the day vote and if this was to be here,Perez deserve it fully having a Redbull and showing nothing while other drivers made some overtakes when they saw it fit while Perez just kept driving around for nothing.
Yes, horrible race from Perez and he seemed to be frustrated the whole race being stuck behind very slow cars and he couldn't overtake.
But Stroll is also a candidate to get "worst driver of the race" and he made a lot of mistakes, too.

And don't forget your picks, next race is one week in Spain.
Maybe Alonso will get a podium once again.

16 points is magnificent -- but I'm not sure I'm good enough to even understand the clues from qualification to really afford losing EBPs.

Thanks tokes for formuladank. Gave me one smile today.

At Superbru, I had Perez on pole position, but I can forget about that now because of the crash. But it's still exciting, so it's more likely to be Verstappen or Leclerc. But we're moving on now, Hamilton is also out at the moment.

A flying lap!

Thinking about this pic...  Didn't it expose Red Bull's floor and now the other teams could possibly copy it?  Been seeing some people laugh about it online and saying that it's possible that the other teams, *cough cough Aston Martin*, could copy it and be more competitive vs Red Bull.  I really didn't take them seriously but then again, what if?

Ferrari and Mercedes could do it too.  I guess we'll after a couple of races.  It could make some markets more interesting as Hamilton, Russel, Leclerc and Sainz all have better chances for a podium finish which might not be reflected by the odds.

What do you guys think?

I think that is intentional from the photographer  Grin.He must have been an Aston Martin or Leclerc fan and as such he thought to expose the Redbull bottom so the other teams can have a clearer view about it and start to improve or at least copy some of it  Grin. Most other teams though are preparing massive upgrades,Andrea Stella, head of technical division at McLaren said that in a couple of races max at Silverston they will present a car that will be completely new compared to the car they have now.So has promised Mercedes so we can expect them and also Ferrari which can be shown the improvements in this very race in Barcelona.

I think it is the first time that I see EBP losing points in favor of changing things paying off the user.In fact if we thought it thoroughly we should all have applied it to a track like Monaco because there were almost 0 change of positions in the top 10 during this last race,so 1miau was the smartest of us to change things in favor of Ocon on the podium,he saw the bigger and clearer picture while most of us kept our prediction as it was as we didn't want to lose the EBP points. In most tracks that is the way to go to not change anything but I have changed my mind about Monaco,I will gladly lose the EBP points next time around here.

It was surprising to see Hamilton having the fastest lap at the end honestly. I was expecting Verstappen to hold this in hand after dominating the race that much. If it didn't rain then maybe Red Bull would have called him to pit to go for fastest lap. But under those conditions it was impossible for Verstappen to beat Hamilton's 1:15.650 lap.  Smiley

I agree that the most part of the race was boring as we didn't see so many overtakes as usual in Monaco GP. The part after the rain was still better in my opinion. Drivers had big struggles for some time even after changing their tyres. But I regret to say that we didn't see any competition for winning the race. Still I guess that Verstappen wasn't bored because he needed to be wide awake on a dangerous track like this one.  Grin

He was extremely wake if you ask me.He kept hitting the barriers and walls quite some times during the rainy part of the race and honestly he was over 20 seconds ahead Alonso so he didn't need to push that hard yet he kept pushing to the limit and this shows his winning spirit.

What a f*cking boring race it was man!Even the rain could not change events and I think Alonso rushed to change tires to hard compounds while if he just waited one more lap he would have chosen the intermediate compound and he may as well have won this race as at Redbull they were very nervous with also Max keeping an eye on his team to help him.I think Aston Martin lost a golden chance to get a race win this year and I doubt they will have another chance to win any race as all other tracks are wide open and Aston Martin does not seem to have power to do so.

Dammit...  I forgot to change my grid line up.  :/  Oh well...

Anyway, I still have my fastest lap bet but to keep me entertained for the race.  For 1.90 if either RBR car gets the fastest lap, I win the bet.  Perez has the fastest lap so far.  He'll prolly keep pushing it and try to climb up somehow.  But I don't think he'll get a points finish.

Another thing that could keep everybody entertained is Formula Dank.

Are you guys going to change race predictions in Superburu competition now after you saw results so far?

I never do and I had Perez second which is extremely difficult for this to happen tomorrow unless some mess up happens in the race.I think that it is always better to start off with 2 EBP points or 3 when you get the pole position right like I assume many people have done during this race. Now it is all up to Verstappen to lose his race which I doubt he will lose it unless as I said some mess up happens that compromises his race.Overall the 2-3 points you get before starting the race most of the time are not worth losing to change predictions in the pool as when you change predictions and don't get them right you lost 2-3 valid and important points in the fight for the prize spots, that is why I think it is better to get in top 1-5 in every race and in the end this guarantees a prize spots but this can't be achieved if we change the predictions and lose our EBP points.

I was extremely impressed by Hamilton last lap.

Exactly Hamilton came into the final qualifying with a last fast lap, Perez now starts from the last position. Alpine surprised me a lot, unfortunately I can forget my tip with Perez on the podium, but that's how it often is. If Verstappen gets away well at the start, it will probably be difficult to beat him. But Alonso could definitely finish second.

I was extremely impressed by Hamilton last lap.He was suffering during all Q1 to find the pace and I don't know where the heck he found all that great pace in the last lap to go from 19th to 7th place and made him out of Q1 luckily. What made a master lap is also Tsunoda who kept the pole for a couple of minutes and he ended the Q1 second and also Albon who ended third.Leclerc disappointing in this Q1 but he was impeded a bit by his team mate, while it was unintentional Leclerc complained about it.In prediction Superbru I stayed with Verstappen on pole but looks like it will not be a sure thing as he near hit the wall also.
Really good result for him and Russell was not far behind, team Mercedes and Hamilton will have a big chance to take over second place from Aston Martin after this race.
Verstappen won pole position like most people expected but I was surprised with great result Fernando Alonso made in qualifications.
Sergio Perez crashing opened a lot of room for him and guys from other teams to win more points in Monaco, and Ferrari to take top positions this time.
I think this race is going to be much more interesting then some people predicted, it is far from boring.

One really really good Qualy, sad to Alonso who had the pole in his hands, i dont erally know where, and when in that last sector Verstappen steal the pole from him.

Ferrari looks good at one lap, nothing new, Mercedes "new" car really good if we think about the whole change they make, Aston Martin its Alonso plus one guy who just was walking around the circuit, but the most impresive was Alpine with that porvisional pole of Ocon.

I went with Leclerc today for the first time this season, pole and fastest. This is only because it seems this is where his old magic can still happen so hope I didn't lose from ignoring what has happened so far this season Smiley

But still I'm not confident he has what it takes to win or shall I say, no confidence in Ferrari at all.

Prediction picks went totally different so I should be right in one of them lol

I also have not made my predictions and yet I feel Verstappen should not be able to get the pole today.I have to check the weather and if there is any chance of raining it will be great for all of us as the qualifying can be won by any of the top drivers and if someone else other than Verstappen wins it the race should be beautiful,at least in theory.I say in theory because Verstappen may just choose to be happy with a podium place because he has the luxury of doing so and recover the lost points in the upcoming races.

I am still going with him though to win pole and the race if there is no chance of raining today during qualifying.
