Reputation first.
I said it before, Mercedes here have a very nice fit in their car, but in the other hand i dont fully trusted them in my picks. I dont expect that qualy and also dont expect AM being bad in this race.

Ferrari..... they only walk backwards.

I think that Ferrari should start to think to organize the next season from now, it is better for them, no chance to compete also against mercedes (redbull is so far away). I'm absolutely disappeared to see that Ferrari teams

is so poor at the moment and without any idea, in comparison, Redbull seems to be a team driven by alien.

Nice calls, CLS63 and damn you Slissy ha!

Still, I managed to keep my spot in 8th, so I'm not too upset. These 5 points from the summit feels so big, when you think about how tight these races are. Glad I kept faith in Verstappen. For once Tsunoda got in above 10 and I didn't put him in...

Damn, forgot to submit my picks again. I'm horrible at these things - too many pools I'm currently participating in.
No surprise I'm in last place, for Monaco I submitted 5 min before the race when I saw the DM from 1miau.

Well, free money for the winners I guess Grin

Thank you for your kindness ha!

It's happened at least once for me in every pool, every season. I actually lost prize spots in UCL because I forgot an entire round during round 16 (that was different though, I honestly thought I put in picks and then happily went to look for results and saw the bad news haha).

Strange thing the mind does to you when you think you're on autopilot and then rely on that without actual reminders, huh.

In here when you forget to make your picks you pay a huge price as in the end of the pool points won from a race which is a minimal of 8-9 if you just put random picks from the top teams without knowing what you are doing  Grin can damage your overall position up to a position where you cannot get back into the fight for prize spots.

For me luckily today got 11 points without putting my qualifying result and losing also the EBP point which should have given me another plus 3 points to bring me to 14 points which is a good result and I would be several position above, luckily I have not lost much against the top of the standings and this pool this year is looking much more competitive as just a mere 9 points divide 15 spots of the pool.

Mercedes cars are the second best during this race while at Ferrari I have a lot of doubts because Sainz struggled in both stints before he put the hard compound,Leclerc did a great race and now we are in the final stint of the race and Ferrari is less than impressive.I wonder what they were doing, they should have been definitely on the podium but I believe we have again the team strategy not the right one for Sainz, what he was doing to go to the box when he said clearly I have still pace on these tires and it was that exact moment that ruined Sainz race.A boring race, another boring one and Redbull seem like they are already Champions of the season.

Exactly, Mercedes has made a big step forward with its aero update, Ferrari is a bit disappointing again for me. Mercedes was clearly the second fastest car today, Perez was also very good at the end but unfortunately missed the podium, but overall a good race for RedBull and Mercedes. Perez simply had a bad qualification

I might change my picks as well. Hamilton seems likely to be on the podium, as Mercedes is usually very strong in the race, especially compared to Ferrari.
Not sure if Alonso can get a podium here, he’s starting far back.
Leclerc had a very bad qualifying as well, probably he can get a few points but people like Russell, Perez or Alonso might be too far ahead once Leclerc has cleared all traffic.

It’s a really hard one to decide. I’m tempted to change my picks but rain can affect positions very much, if we get rain, which is not clear yet but seems possible.

Correct, Mercedes and Ferrari were surprisingly strong, so the updates to the cars worked well, I haven't changed my predictions, but I don't think my podium is very likely with Verstappen, Alonso and Perez, more like impossible. But let's see how the race goes.

I completely forgot to put my picks before yesterday official qualifying starts and I will start with -3 points which in the end of the pool can prove decisive  Grin,I had a lot of work to do yesterday and I was deep dived into it that I completely forgot about racing and this is the first time it happens to me.

Nevertheless I will have the opportunity to change my picks but changing them is not of a great help in a technical track where overtaking is very much possible here so anything can happen.I can't wait to see the upgrades of the cars and see if they can match somewhat Redbull speed.

Yea...I did the same. I was too exited for qualifiers that I forgot to place my picks but nevertheless , I did pick the top 10 today with good confidence that Norris can make a podium and keep that 3rd place until end of the race. Also , is somehow Sainz gets a great start , we might have a collision between Max and him so I'm looking forward for turn 1.

First time I put Norris in top ten this time, the management and board of directors at McLaren are saying that we will see a completely different car the max at Silverstone but judging from the performance of McLaren yesterday in qualifying I think it is a right call to put him in the top 10 and maybe this car is already on track  Grin.

I doubt Max will cause a collision,he knows that if he goes to ask for trouble he will find it and he will definitely be the most damaged one.For a change though I have put a nice bet of Ferrari most team points during the race of today at an odd of 10 which I think is doable as long as Perez gets out of the way,his mediocre performances keep following.

If i dont remember bad, it was in the Spanish GP from alst year when Mercedes make a magnificent preformance with a very cuestionable car, so now they have a much more better car and with a complete change who seems to work, can we see a much better performacne in that circuit that suits there really good?

I MIGHT be tempted to change picks depending on qualifying. With less football going on, maybe I start paying attention to F1. So yeah, if Mercedes actually do well, maybe I switch around. ATM Hammie's not quite yet on my podium.
Possibly, Singapore can be an interesting track again, where changing our picks after qualification can make sense. But even Singapore is a lot easier to overtake compared to Monaco. Singapore has 1 or 2 straights, where overtaking is possible in general as we have seen it last round but Singapore is still far away from normal tracks because Signapore is a street track as well.
If there are a few Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull or Aston Martin drivers messing up qualifying big time, changing picks might be an option.
But making up our lost 2 EBP is also a big task, 2 points are quite much sometimes.

From Barcelona on , Ferrari officials have said that they will bring an update on the car on every race from now on as long as the budget will allow them to. Now , I don't want to get hyped on this because I'm a huge Ferrari fan but after so many disappointments , I think I can finally see a light on Ferrari because even if the season is a complete mess , they are not under pressure like they used to be in previous years. In conclusion , I'm looking forward to see if Ferrari will actually improve this car by the end of the season or it was just another false promise from them Sad.

I doubt it.It was a bit further than the Spanish GP,more likely they restarted through Silverston in 2021 to fight up to the title in the last race when they started the season not in the best of their form.Last year they were a mid performance team and didn't show any significant performance, the fact that Russell won a race if I recall correctly means that Redbull was already Champions at that time and were not giving it all.

In this season I really hope that they bring some massive upgrade together with Ferrari which have promised to do so but I have not seen anything like that,I am not keeping my hopes high as I will risk being heavily disappointed if I don't see such expected upgrade.

Definitely lots to chew on with 1miau's strategy, always easier thought of than replicated, obviously, haha. I'm going back to performance and form once more, and after Tsunoda tricked me into flirting with him again, I'm dropping him. I really hate how he keeps doing 10/11, which is actually overperformance from pre-race odds...

Life, Love and Laughter...
At Superbru, I had Perez on pole position, but I can forget about that now because of the crash. But it's still exciting, so it's more likely to be Verstappen or Leclerc. But we're moving on now, Hamilton is also out at the moment.

A flying lap!

Thinking about this pic...  Didn't it expose Red Bull's floor and now the other teams could possibly copy it?  Been seeing some people laugh about it online and saying that it's possible that the other teams, *cough cough Aston Martin*, could copy it and be more competitive vs Red Bull.  I really didn't take them seriously but then again, what if?

Ferrari and Mercedes could do it too.  I guess we'll after a couple of races.  It could make some markets more interesting as Hamilton, Russel, Leclerc and Sainz all have better chances for a podium finish which might not be reflected by the odds.

What do you guys think?

I think that is intentional from the photographer  Grin. He must have been an Aston Martin or Leclerc fan and as such he thought to expose the Redbull bottom so the other teams can have a clearer view about it and start to improve or at least copy some of it  Grin. Most other teams though are preparing massive upgrades,Andrea Stella, head of technical division at McLaren said that in a couple of races max at Silverston they will present a car that will be completely new compared to the car they have now.So has promised Mercedes so we can expect them and also Ferrari which can be shown the improvements in this very race in Barcelona.

Hmmm...  I wonder what their car's floor will look like.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Horner should go from garage to garage and go for a look see.  Lolol.

Anyway, here's a fun fact this season...  Alonso has more podium finishes than Perez at 5 - 4.  Man I keep thinking if Vettel gave it one more year it would be him up there.  And would prolly do a tad better because he's so good in qualifying in a decent enough car.  :/

And yes, Vettel fan boy here and am not ashaaamed.  Lol.

Leclerc was very good in qualy but he got a 3 places grid penalty after the qualifying.
If he had started from position 3, he might be on the podium instead of Ocon.

It takes a bit of luck of course, did you change your prediction after it became official that Leclerc was moved back or did you change it a second time after qualifying? I think it took an hour for the official announcement to be made...  Huh
I've changed it late on Saturday evening, probably around 11 PM CET, when it was known already that Leclerc got a penalty.

Yes, horrible race from Perez and he seemed to be frustrated the whole race being stuck behind very slow cars and he couldn't overtake.

That Perez had to take full risk and also risked something is clear, the first stop was a good tactical move, however, and Perez was able to catch up with the field again quickly but then he also made mistakes of his own. Then only full risk.
Yes, Perez was fast but obviously, but being fast in Monaco doesn't mean much, if there's traffic in front of you, which is difficult to pass, even when Perez was massively faster. And as everyone didn't stop for quite some time, the entire field got more spread out and Perez didn't benefit from cars going into the pits in front of him as most cars had a sufficient gap to stay in front of him.
Qualification is really important in Monaco and Perez should have been more carefully, especially in the first qualification part, where he crashed, because it would have been quite easy to advance to Q2 for him...
