I was expecting Chelsea to win today. However they couldn't even manage to equalize the score after the opponent started to play with 10 players.
Chelsea were at some point very good today, but especially after going a goal down, but after the restored parity they couldn't find away back before West Ham was finally able punish them for the inconsistencies with the ball and creativity in the final third. I think the Chelsea team are still pretty much unstable, but they will find their rhythm at some point as the season progresses, Pochettino still doesn't have a first choice starting eleven yet, so until he does arrive at it, you can still expect this level instability from the team.
Couldn't have Liverpool and Chelsea convinced Jude Bellingham in some way instead of paying these numbers for Caicedo?
Money can buy you players but can't buy you points was what we learned from Chelsea today their 2nd most expensive transfer of all time missed a penalty to put them ahead, and the game surely could have turned out differently had Enzo scored the penalty, while their most expensive player of all time was the one that gave away the penalty that ensured Chelsea stood no chance of getting any point from the match. Moisés Caicedo is actually a very fantastic player but he's definitely worth nothing near half the price Chelsea had to pay for him, and Brighton aren't looking like a team who misses him anyway, while having an heavy fortune in bank for him.
Chelsea actually does need a couple of attacking variations, especially with Nkunku's injury, not C(D)Ms, Lavia and Caicedo were just misplaced priorities imo, why fix something, when it's not faulty?
