Everton is going to have a worse season than the last one I think.

as it looks now, Everton can be saved only by Sheffield, Wolves and Luton being worse than them, they don't want to be better

but as Villa lost 1:5 in first round, to return 4:0 in second round, Everton can be back after two loses in opening rounds
first round wasn't bad, just unlucky, yesterday team was really down in second half, and DCL is now out again

I think that this second round made the pool even more beautiful, just 6 points difference in near 20 places excluding the first place which is 8 points ahead, still distances that are easily recovered if we keep playing consistently with 13-15 points for a single round.

Chelsea was the biggest surprise for me yesterday as it was a completely different Chelsea team than the one we saw against Liverpool in the first week of the season.Let's see what Arsenal can make tonight but I think most likely it will be an easy win for them.

Money can buy you players but can't buy you points was what we learned from Chelsea today their 2nd most expensive transfer of all time missed a penalty to put them ahead, and the game surely could have turned out differently had Enzo scored the penalty, while their most expensive player of all time was the one that gave away the penalty that ensured Chelsea stood no chance of getting any point from the match. Moisés Caicedo is actually a very fantastic player but he's definitely worth nothing near half the price Chelsea had to pay for him, and Brighton aren't looking like a team who misses him anyway, while having an heavy fortune in bank for him.

Chelsea actually does need a couple of attacking variations, especially with Nkunku's injury, not C(D)Ms, Lavia and Caicedo were just misplaced priorities imo, why fix something, when it's not faulty?

Let us stop pretending that Klopp didn't take more than four years to rebuild the whole Liverpool team before challenging for titles despite spending fortunes in his first two seasons. Pep likewise went blank in his first rebuild season, and it took Arteta two seasons and a lot of money to get it right. The Chelsea team is rebuilding, with 80% of the players playing together for the first time. As a fan, I expected this rebuild to take at least two seasons to complete. Expecting instant success will not work anywhere.

I'm not sure what you mean by misplaced priorities; Caidedo and Lavia have always been on our list. We almost signed Caicedo in 2020 before Brighton did, and we made a late bid for Lavia last season but were unsuccessful. These two have always been on our short list to replace Kante and Kovasic. Our DM was broken and needed to be fixed.

I was expecting Chelsea to win today. However they couldn't even manage to equalize the score after the opponent started to play with 10 players.

Chelsea were at some point very good today, but especially after going a goal down, but after the restored parity they couldn't find away back before West Ham was finally able punish them for the inconsistencies with the ball and creativity in the final third. I think the Chelsea team are still pretty much unstable, but they will find their rhythm at some point as the season progresses, Pochettino still doesn't have a first choice starting eleven yet, so until he does arrive at it, you can still expect this level instability from the team.

Couldn't have Liverpool and Chelsea convinced Jude Bellingham in some way instead of paying these numbers for Caicedo?

Bellingham is absolutely a player who can make difference and help his team level up whatever team he goes to. I was expecting Chelsea to win today. but it seems that it will not be without proper fight on the pitch
I didn't expect such an easy win for Aston Villa either. In fact, no one did. Everyone in the pool predicted a 2-1 or 2-0 win for Aston Villa but they really made it far easier. Everton is going to have a worse season than the last one I think.

Will West Ham make the Blues cry today? lol. West Ham against Chelsea was always a dangerous opponent at home if we check the last few years' history. Chelsea is already down 1-0. Well, my only bet in this match is for both teams to score so, it's fine for me until now although I picked a 2-1 win for the Blues.

Everton is about to face Villa, in a longest team fixture in a English top flight league, they will face 211 times in top flight
DCL is back, chances are we will lose this one, but it seems that it will not be without proper fight on the pitch

it is a history in this match after all

You can't blame the 19-25 age group players for picking Chelsea over Liverpool; they weren't alive when Liverpool dominated the league in the 1970s and 1980s, but they all watched Chelsea dominate the league in the 2000s. Having said that, I'm confident that our L.F.C midfield will break every other midfield this season. Our title charge will begin tomorrow.

Bournemouth are shit!

I wasn't alive or aware of Liverpool either and saw Chelsea emerge in my youth with petrol money... Still thought it was impressive to see not rich clubs get better football playing but of course, I get the point. Chelsea means immediate chances of titles... Liverpool even after the last period of success still play and sct like perennial seeded underdogs.

Our red card means new boy starts so that is silver lining...

Brighton,  bright spot. They are a credit to the league. I took Mitoma off my fantasy but not because I don't like the guy... He and others in Europe proving Japan was no fluke in the last WC.

And now resources are coming as well, that transfer fee for Caicedo was a real robbery and I don't understand why would Chelsea ever agree to deal like that.
They know how to drive a hard bargain and wait long enough for it to turn to a bidding battle between top clubs driving one to make a decisive move. Just as WestHam did with the Declan Rice sale.

Brighton plays really good football and they are a joy to watch. That being said they had maybe the easiest opening 3 fixtures in the league but then they fixtures turn really bad. We shall see how will they be able to handle those opponents that are on their level or better.
Momentum is great early on in the season, cause those easy fixtures could turn difficult once those clubs pick up some steam or are into relegation battles.

Brighton losing their top midfielders and being top of the league after the first two games (still too early), with a total of 8 goals scored (which is the highest so far by any club) is a great feat. The club is one of the best managed in the league with the little resources available to them.

Brighton from the last year shows that no matter who plays they have like 10+ player into the rotation that can play equal every game, and plus you can see also they change the manager and still play better than before, that its a freaking good TEAM with all the leters.

I was scared to pick them to win this weekend against an obviously tough opponent but they ended up blowing Wolves away.

Slow start to the season but still very recoverable.

I can say that for two weeks in Manchester United's matches the referee decisions have been like a scandal. This time a very clear penalty wasn't given to Manchester United. In my opinion Manchester United could have got a comfortable win if they managed to get ahead in the match. Lastly if you haven't seen Mitoma's great goal today I absolutely recommend you to watch it.

Early scare for the Reds. Goals must flow today, I'm expecting Newcastle to show their credentials, Spurs to find a way past United with a new future without Kane -- oh, and there's the business of Liverpool. Can't believe they're still a stronger favourite than Chelsea after their preferred midfield acquisitions chose Igebotz blue...

Limit it a bit man, otherwise I'm taking this one Grin

Too easy to take advantage of the rules you put in place to create an 'unwinnable' ticket - like this one.

Done! 1mbtc for that you posted, I pay when the ticket loses haha.

I know it's too easy, curious to see what people make out of it, and what markets they take. I would have gone for reds in 2 games to keep it simple but yours looks pretty winnable heh heh

You were actually really close to this one Grin
Adingra scored and Jebbison did not play, so it would have been voided.

I always felt confident in Liverpool conceding though. It's the safest bet on the market currently.

I have added to the spreadsheet. Good luck. I'm feeling like my job is going to be much more difficult this season compared to the previous season. Especially the performance you have shown in BSFL scares me. Smiley

Luck couldn't have had a stronger role in any of that. 5 more rounds there and 37 more in this pool -- destiny is far from written, good luck!

Great! I did not know that. Welcome to the team. Now even if I lose the sidebet with you, I will have no regret after all you are my team mate 😘

As there are many friends of mine who support Liverpool I also started to support Liverpool. On top of that it is still a popular topic among the supporters here that Liverpool won against Beşiktaş by 8-0 in the Champions League groups.

Fine haha, let's do it. Add me to your spreadsheet. I know I had a bad start but you know, I'm counting on some major upsets this season, might as well add another layer of money to back it!

I dont see the game at all, but one question, Sheffield keeps playing ultra defensive way like a few years ago when they were on Premier League for the last time?.
Its a good thing to know for the future.

Nothingam Forest its a enigmatic team for me, because they have very good games sometimes and in other they are trash, but player like Morgan Gibbs White when they are turned on, are really dangerous, and Awoniyi a very strong number 9.

So one week passed extremely fast and tomorrow we will have again Premier League action. It is Nottingham vs Sheffield United, two teams that have lost their first games and will be fighting hard to collect their first ever points of this new season Premier League.Based on what I saw in the first game it looks like Sheffield United has not upgraded their team to fill a super fast rhythm and great play of the Premier League, they lost at home against Crystal Palace and this make me think that it will be extremely difficult for them to win away in tomorrow game.
Nottingham Forest earned their first three points of the season against Sheffield United in their second Premier League encounter. In terms of ball possession, both teams attempted, but Nottingham Forest appears more prepared for Premier League football than Sheffield United because they created more chances than Sheffield United, despite their efforts to keep the game 1-1. Unfortunately, Chris Wood scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute, giving Nottingham Forest their first three points of the season.

Nottingham Forest was overall in the game much better then Sheffield. Notthingham forest really pushed with the attacks and was able to score a great goal in the end. I think that Sheffield will probobly be relegated fast this season.Started this round amazing with another perfect result,so i hope tommorows results be good aswell.

So are you ready to watch Chelsea not get another 3 points this week? It would have been perfect if Liverpool won last week but oh well Cool I need West Ham to get atleast a draw in the next fixtures

I think Nottingham Forest is better then Sheffield and i think they might win by a small difference against Sheffield. It will be a close match but i think they can take ,both teams are looking for points in the league to try and remove those zero points from the league table. But i think Forest will take all three

Well statistically Nottingham Forest is way better with alot more chances and yeah they were pretty lucky with that late minute goal. There goes my 1.5 point from the draw. Alot of people were expecting Nottingham to win and yeah they ended up winning on that last minute, pretty lame  Roll Eyes
