Yeah, Liverpool is getting a taste of their own medicine after the same FA single-handedly awarded you the FA Cup trophy two seasons ago after ruling out an ONSIDE goal from Lukaku. I never thought the day would come when both Liverpool and Manchester United would moan over Ref rulings. It's only been seven games, and you've already received four red cards (two of which have been overturned). Dirty tactics!

PGMOL are spreading the virus this season, which is great since it means Chelsea aren't alone in their disaster. And nothing will change as long as these refs and VAR are not punished for incorrect officiating.

Sorry Igehhh fren, these are worlds apart.

Personally, I thought Lukaku's goal should have stood -- but we had many goals that season ruled out across EPL and cups for being marginally offside. Mane's armpit/kneecap, shoelace etc. That was when VAR followed the letter of the law, everyone paid the (technically correct) price.
//cut//

The Lukaku incident was far from a minor offside; it was clearly onside even without VAR lines, but it was not the first time Anthony Taylor cheated us out of the FA Cup. Anthony Taylor was in charge of the red card against Arsenal and the Leicester City handball goal. We lost four FA Cup finals in five years and all we received in return was an apology from the FA with no disciplinary action. We had the cucurella hair pull and no action was taken against Tottenham Romeo, all we received was an apology from the FA last season. We've been victims of FA deception since Abramovich took control, and it only became worse after he departed.

This season's officiating has been mostly poor. Diaz's goal was an apparent Onside, and I'm not sure how the ref and VAR missed it. Has the recording been delivered to Liverpool yet? I'd like to know what the VAR and the ref were talking about at the moment.

James was charged with obstructing the ref when he ended the HT 3 minutes early in the game against Aston Villa. It's crazy.

Diaz's goal was actually given, incorrectly communicated, and no VAR review. Then, after realising their mistake, they opted NOT to interrupt the game. It's been called the biggest error Prem has seen.

But you're right, I'm moaning, and I say game on. un_rank right, let it go. We can overcome these nevertheless =) VAR officials taken off duty may be punishment enough. But I hope people realise VAR was brought in because of ref human error (which most including myself accept as part of free-flowing football).

But the tech has really been painful and caused, perhaps, just as many errors.

What I mean was not about the impact but the player unlucky, as in no intention and no initial risk. It was nasty for sure but the initial foot was not studs up. The ball just turned his foot away and made it stand on the opponent. Anyway Smiley

Intent is no longer important in dismissing an offence (intent confirms, but lack of intent doesn't absolve). Here, it is excessive force instead that could cause injury, regardless of intent. Unlucky, sure, but can't argue much against the law.

It was an unlucky decision which went against Jones, hard luck on the lad.

I however think the Liverpool management should let it go, all these about demanding the recordings of communication between the officials and releasing statements to explore all available options is not the drama the club needs now. Someone will say that the mistakes have been occurring more frequently and something needs to be done, but they are going about it the wrong way in my opinion and giving the impression that they suspect a conspiracy against the club.
Chelsea had what was probably their best 45 minutes of the season against a decent side. If they can pull off a win, that will probably be the catalyst they need to turn their season around.

Yeah and the funny thing is that with just a correct score for the single game that was today I got from 37 to 22nd place with just one single game, that shows how tight this pool is.

I don't have any expectation for Chelsea,in fact if Chelsea loses again on Monday then most likely they will go to the Championship as I don't see any glimmer of hope for them no matter what the management do,even if they sack Pochettino nothing will change so they are most likely forced to keep him.

I'm right above you and apparently still in the same position but like you said it's very tight, except at the top!! 11 points from 1st to 5th place, and we're all here fighting for less Tongue

But I want to point out, Liverpool red card seemed wrong. Nobody thinks so? Ball turns the foot, obvious.
In the actual play, it does not look bad, but when you watch the replay and it is slowed down to a freeze at the point of impact, then it looks nasty.
A yellow could have sufficed, but i can see why the ref changed it to red. It was a very dangerous challenge and with a bit more power can severely injure the tackled player.

Me, I rarely, almost never complain about a game. But last night, even before the PGMOL apology, I was telling my kid watching I haven't seen an error like that since... well, years. But I loved the way we played.

Klopp's teams don't get red cards... don't think we've ever had more than one in a season since he took over but now we have... 4? One rescinded, one unlucky, but anyway, if we play like that with 10 or 9 men, teams better be very afraid.

Unfair goal chalked off, unlucky red, unlucky own goal. This hopefully purges our bad luck.

What do you think about Jones' red card? I think that slow motion can be deceptive for referees quite much. Besides I think that Diogo Jota's first yellow card was also wrong. If Liverpool manage to make 1-2 additions to the squad they have showed that they can be in the championship race this season.

Finally I was able to hit a correct score after so many times failing to do so in this pool.I knew Brentford is not a team to trust to win against Nottingham Forest which is in a relatively good form when playing at home. Now there is only the Chelsea game left for this week and I don't know really what to expect in that game although I think a draw will most likely be an acceptable result for both teams with Fulham of course wanting a win in their home field against a failing very weak Chelsea.

Don't raise your expectations as there is nothing more to expect than just am average Chelsea side playing another worse side. Battle of the mids.

Injuries I think play a big role as De Bryne injured in Manchester City left them struggling against Wolves which they got the first lost game of the season.

KDB's injury has nothing to do with City's first loss, as they have been winning games without him since the beginning of the season. They controlled the game yesterday and were unlucky to lose to a team who only had one shot on target + lucky own goal and zero corners.

Well I see losing like another 7 positions this week and I am in a consistent losing mode during the recent weeks but I am not worried at all.The reason is that I see a lot of other people not doing well either in the pool and the fact that only 8 points distance from 37th place to 10th place says a lot about these standings so far.
It is good to pick up as much point as possible to be in the running for a prized finish, but you are right and we are still early in the league, very early and things can change very quickly in the space of a week or two.
The season will also be getting more unpredictable with the weeks, injuries, dips in form, change of managers and then the coming transfer window. The roller coaster is just getting started.

Regarding yesterday games it was the week with the biggest surprises in Premier League as both Manchester teams lost their games with Manchester City being the biggest surprise and felt sorry for Liverpool for that late additional time goal despite them holding well with 2 red cards.

How is it that ref and var both make wrong call? This smells like Spanish scandal.
it was quite a ridiculous call. VAR did not even draw a line and it was obvious even to the naked eye that Luis Diaz was onside. They have released a statement admitting an error, but this is the exact reason why VAR was introduced in the first place.

So many talking points from the match, but worse off was Tottenham's performance; playing at home against 10 men for 45 minutes and then 9 men for the final 20 minutes, you should really be winning that game more convincingly than they did. Liverpool were amazing.

Referees are being criticized in Turkey every year and the referees in our country can really make quite bad decisions. However this year I haven't seen anyone as bad as the referees in the Premier League anywhere. The goal that wasn't given to Liverpool was a very big scandal. On the first week of the league there was a penalty which wasn't given to Wolves in the last minute.I have always defended V.A.R however there is no meaning in using this system if this much obvious mistakes will be made.

Didn't see any matches obviously but after seeing the video, this was the biggest scandal plus Wolves. United should have lose, Liverpool should have gone ahead.

Tottenham vs Liverpool, I am not sure why bookies are thinking Liverpool is going to struggle. The odd for Liverpool is 23/20.

Will we see another match like Castle vs Liverpool?
Maybe cause they very well would struggle. Tottenham are very tough opponents to play against for any team in the league and they are playing at home so Liverpool does not have the advantage of the Anfield noise to spur them on. This is also Liverpool's first real test of the season, so we get to see if they can perform under that pressure.
Tottenham has already played against 2 of the 4 teams that qualified for the UEFA champions league last season and are yet to lose a game. Although we can all agree that United are still struggling to find their feet.

That match can swing either way.

@BitcoinGirl.Club we are both going on quite badly compared to last season. We need to collect ourselves to challenge for top 10.
Yes we are, I think this season I will top from the bottom LOL. I am not losing hope because it's a long season and we need only a few good rounds. Match day tomorrow. I still have not done my pick. But will do it at the morning.

I am also feeling bookies trying to create some mess-up, or they are happy to give odds like these for the Liverpool because I have prediction for the Liverpool with the score of 1 - 3 in this match, and then we will have neck to neck fight for the title with Manchester City in this season.

Arsenal have to stay at third spot for this season because things are not going into their favour for the title race in this season.

Spurs currently getting goals at 3 times their expected rate while we're slightly underperforming on xG so I'm very happy there.

Interesting, really positive stat for us, that is. They can’t continue to be that clinical.

Did you see Jota's backheel goal @LFC_Bitcoin? We may only be the league's second top scoring team but our goals are pretty (if only those counted for something).

I did buddy, I was watching on a crappy stream on my phone Cheesy

I think we look so, so much better this season. The pressing & hunger to win the ball back has returned. The whole club is emanating positivity. Szobo is unreal, just like a young Gerrard. Mac Allister has more technical ability in his little toes than Henderson, Milner and Fabinho had combined.

Things are looking good, let’s take it one game at a time but I’m loving the early days of Klopp 2.0
Massive game tomorrow, to win there would send a real message that we’re back. Will not be easy, Spurs have started well but we can beat them. No Kane to play against, Son is a real pain though.

Szoboszlai's one was my favorite. That guy is a machine, I'm so thrilled we got him.

He's everything you need from a modern football's centre mid and he clicked with the team instantly.
You can see how often do they look for him, even in crowded areas. He'll improve our offensive game immensely.

I don't know where this is from, a friend sent it to me - I do feel it's correct though:

"Liverpool's new midfielders Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch & Endō have 6 goal contributions between them in September.
That’s as many as Henderson, Milner, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keïta achieved for the whole of last season.
"

Fun fact: Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Gravenberch & Endō has more game minutes in 6 games than what Milner, Fabinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keïta had the entire of last season. So your friend could be right.

When is UEFA going to kick Bacelona out of the CL for Ref bribery and match manipulation? Robbed Chelsea of 2009 CL league trophy.
