What a important win for Newcastle to get away some ghosts, because they dont have so easy the fixture in this last two games.

And Brighton..... next time you cant fail when you are so close. A really good oportunitie they have to reach UCL if they dont drop that points on Forest Everton and here.

Newcastle won’t slip up now, they will be in the CL next season now. They only need to beat Leicester in their next game to guarantee it.

I have to hope Man Utd drop points in 2 of their 3 remaining games which also seems unlikely.

Brighton's just pulled a goal back -- could we still end up with a Newcastle loss I'm hoping for?

**Sigh**

It’s looking like Thursday night football in the arse end of Europe for next season, bro. I guess it’s what we deserve for checking out for most of the season. Losing to Leeds, B’mouth, Brighton, Wolves, Forest, Brentford has been a real kick in the teeth, we don’t deserve to be in the CL.

Sucks but it is what it is. I’ll be happy to play the kids & fringe players in the EL and just concentrate on the PL & domestic cups.

Newcastle only need one win now and they play Leicester next Sad
Maybe Ten Hag will choke but I doubt it.
Let’s regroup in the summer, buy some midfielders and go again.

If there was any game that one would have expected Newcastle to drop points, It should have been against Brighton, but now it's look like they're not going to give up that position, the most would be to expect a flop from Man United, but how probable is that ?, Let's just hope Leicester City can muster up some energy or momentum to get themselves something possible from the game.

wasn't look that way, and now is probably over, Newcastle scored third one
they need just one win to secure their CL spot at the moment

this could be over the weekend, against Leicester, which would suit as good, and Leicester is probably in worst form at the moment
United is better chance for Liverpool IMO, Bournemouth is pretty solid lately

^ Ah Sturridge. Not nearly one of my favourites but he was part of the SAS hit squad, lest we forget, and he was a big part of my long-running seasonal betting on Liverpool (he scored almost every game several seasons ending with our Europa run season, it was like doubling my money on him to score whenever odds were 2/1).

I definitely don't see Gakpo in his mould though, probably a view shared by Klopp who hasn't settled on a role for him (at least, the way I see him in our formations, trying almost every position now). Admittedly much better than I rated him myself, but still not quite in my books yet. Can't say he doesn't fit the hard-running model we need.

Gakpo is more like Daniel Sturridge and Greenwood they shoot at any given space, he is a good player but he is far from what kind of player Bobby was.

I don't really agree. Gakpo is best as a 'playmaking' forward, but has the ability to shoot as well.
He's not the same type of player as Firmino of course - but he's a player that likes combining more than running into spaces.

He does have a bit of Sturridge in him though - and that's a great thing to have Grin

Sturidge was another great player whose career was cut short by injury, he hit 20 goals a season for us but he was never a team player, the moment he got hold of the ball anywhere near the goal post he was never going to pass and his shot accuracy was not really good, he shoots 7 and only 2 go on target but he was really the ambitious type of striker who just wanted to score, I have no idea how we were able to convince Liverpool to pay 15m for him It was a good deal for us, one of the best internal transfers.

Mount gets closer to Liverpool deal - a good presser with poor pass vision isn't what we need right now, so 60m is fair.

But by the way, in general, Arsenal and Brighton have a lot in common - Arsenal did not have enough strength for the finishing part of the season, and Brighton did not have enough strength to beat outsiders after victories over Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Brighton lost to Nottingham Forest (and drew with them once more), Everton, Fulham, Brandford. I understand that the last two teams are not completely outsiders, but they are definitely not tops. In general, if Brighton were more consistent and did not lose a lot of points with outsiders, then they would be much higher in the standings. With Arsenal everything is the same, only they showed it at the end of the season.

Brighton probably were self complacent when playing with teams not at the top of the standings.I think a true test to Brighton is this delayed game that they will play tomorrow against Newcastle.Newcastle cannot afford to make any mistake in this game as the battle for the 4th place is more vivid than ever now that Liverpool is there too beside Manchester United so as I said it will be a true test to Brighton form.

Arsenal, what to say as always they are a true disappointment to their fans and anyone who bets on them also  Grin, this time I thought this would not have happened when they were 9 points ahead of Manchester City but here we are with just 2 weeks to go and they have already screw up big time.

In fact, Newcastle have the right to a single mistake, but if they make it tomorrow, then in the remaining games with Chelsea and Leicester they will be required to take 6 points. This task looks quite doable, but given the way Liverpool has accelerated, it is better not to risk it and take 3 points in every game. It would be a disaster for Newcastle to lose a place in the top 4 after such a great season.

Damn. It really hurts to take a reliable double chance bet and lose it. But I think it's not just Arsenal - Brighton are good, if they were a little bit luckier with outsiders they would be in the top 4 now (and they still have tough games ahead of them to prove it).
It turns out that in the next round, City, having won against Chelsea, will officially become the champion. But Chelsea have the opportunity to slam the door and keep City from enjoying the sweetness of a trophy at home.
I think Brighton is the team in this season who did really good all though the season. They already proved themselves better team than many others. Arsenal is just total opposite right now. They had a good run but from last two months they seemed lost their track. They had a perfect opportunity to claim the League title but they ruined it.

The current Chelsea team has no power to stop City in the next round.

In the next Arsenal match, if I have balance in sportsbet account then I will go in favour of Nottm Forest. At least they have some motivations to create more distance from the relegated teams.

Haha Stoner!

Sad day for me personally. We got 3 points, but we said goodbye to Bobby. Probably said his name in admiration more often than anyone else in seasons past -- that smile, that no-look special, the way he celebrates with everyone when they score. How he is the happiest guy when Salah/Mane score, first to run to Ali when he got that beautiful header. Am lucky I saw him twice, just wish he had his farewell facing the Kop.

Si Senor, he was my favourite at the front, already miss him.

Dude is my favourite Liverpool player, he was more than happy to set up his teammates for goals, so whoever gets him, get a good player, his time with Liverpool is clearly up, he needs a new challenge, he has won everything with Liverpool, and I hope both he and Milner get a good send off in your final home game against Villa this weekend.

I think Gakpo will fill the role quite well, I even think he's got the potential to be a better player overall.
Bobby is why I love football though - and that will be hard to replace. Especially in an athletic team full of Nunezes and Konates.

Couldn't agree more. A selfless player, fully committed to team success.
I truly love the guy, he was not just a team player but also a fantastic individual with some top scoring seasons for us.

Yes, that's what happened. Liverpool managed to score two beautiful goals in the first half of the match by Stoner and Salah, but VAR intervened and denied Stoner his second goal. I think the match is open to more goals in the second half. Liverpool needs to win the remaining matches to secure a spot in the Champions League. Newcastle faces a tough challenge against Chelsea and Brighton.

Auto-correcrlt going wild, Stoner?

Wink

All Liverpool can do is to keep winning and hope Newcastle or Man Utd choke. I think Newcastle are more likely, they play Brighton (H), Leicester (H) and Chelsea (A). Maybe Brighton and Chelsea can do something to help.

Thank you for the correction. I have a problem with the keyboard of my smartphone, which automatically composes words.
Yes, what we hope for is to watch Liverpool in the upcoming season of the Champions League. We have a match  Brighton on Thursday, which has been performing well this season and still has a chance to secure a spot in the European competitions. Therefore, they will need to win against Newcastle.

agree, hopefully Leicester is not going to be that choke for Newcastle
although, they need two chokes, isn't it, they need six points to secure their CL spot, correct me if wrong

Brighton has their chances, in case they win over Newcastle, and Liverpool losing some point, but that is far from reality IMO

on relegation floor, Forest is playing Arsenal, and could secure their fate with a win, Everton play Wolves, Leeds against West Ham, where has only theoretical chances to relegate and Leicester with mentioned Newcastle
hopefully L teams will Lose, in line with their first letter in name

but then it is what it is, now it will all be about the doubts should you have gone for Over 1.5 goals, or either team should win, but it's just ifs and buts, so sorry for your loss!
Arsenal to win or draw seemed to have better value to be honest considering the theoretical strength and position of both teams in the league. I wish I would had over 1.5 goals though LOL

I understand how you feel, to be honest, the safest picks ruining decent parlays and bets.
It felt bad but I was okay with it.

I had a slip for Real to win of over 1 mBTC, yesterday when Liverpool was playing but not scoring goals, I thought to take a chance. I cashed out the Real to win slip, used the balance for Liverpool to win. Got a good odd of over 1.90 [plus/minus]. It was a good deal. Jones scored after few minutes and then again after couple minutes ultimately almost secured the win. But we saw in several matches Liverpool was just trowing away their lead so after the third goal it felt like I don't need to worry about the slip anymore.

I was expecting Leicester to score at least one goal thought 😂

It was a good match and I think we could score couple more goals.

Leicester is playing for survival, win over Liverpool would give them easier last round against Newcastle

I would say the chances of Arsenal to win the league title now stiill is more plausible than Leicester City get 3 points tonight, at least that's how I feel about it, ngl... Liverpool might not be an entirely convincing team but, this should be an easy one to win for the them.

hopefully you got it right, and Leicester will lose tonight, although everything except their win is acceptable (would like to see them losing, I prefer Liverpool to Newcastle in CL)
it is a rough fight for survival in EPL, Forest improved their position a lot in last two rounds, and Everton, Leeds and Leicester will sort two positions as it now looks

Leicester has one win in last 13 EPL matches, hoping to stay on that until the season end

Was hoping for more goals as they only had 1 goal in the second half with Salah missing an open shot late in the match.
They are looking in good form but so late into the season all they can hope to accomplish is to secure UEFA champions league now.
Chelsea received a new manager with Mauricio Pochettino joining the club announced earlier yesterday.
They have both the Manchester sides and Newcastle as you had mentioned in their remaining matches to close out the season.
And it has been a very disappointing one for The Blue Lions. I don't see them receiving even a point in those three.

I'd be very surprised Mauricio Pochettino last for half season at the Chelsea, it's just gonna be another rinse and repeat era of coach, Mauricio Pochettino last jobs have made it obvious he might be a good coach but then, he's goals and the bars he set aren't Mauricio Pochettino what Chelsea would be impressed with, all Chelsea wants is a coach that can make them compete on all level, and the best advantage for Pochettino would be that the team have not but league and the league cups to play for, so that might buy him a better chances at staying quite longer in the job, since the league is all he should be thinking about but once Chelsea have an idea that he's not going to get them to top for, or play good that we haven't witnessed from the all season long, and at least a place in the Europa League, he's gonna be out.

I think the experience of Pochettino is something which can be very useful to Chelsea for the upcoming season,Lampard clearly is not able to get good results and the only win he got was against Bournemouth with a huge upper hand by the referee otherwise he would not have won that game too.Pochettino I think is less passionate and much more pragmatic when it comes to making a team play to achieve results, results oriented team,in Tottenham he did not do that great but tell me who did great with them,no single coach as they are a very volatile team not being able to be consistent and we have seen this throughout this season and in European competitions.

I think Pochettino is the right choice for Chelsea and I believe him to bring Chelsea to the levels they deserve to be.
