Is there still any mathematical chance that Newcastle will be out of the top 4? To do this, they must be overtaken by two teams at once. Let's say the first is United. Liverpool claim the role of second, but they are 4 points behind. Three rounds before the end of the season it is difficult to hope for a miracle. There is also Brighton, but they have such a complicated calendar and so many games to win that it's definitely unrealistic.
May be couple draws will do the job. Considering the remaining three matches, 2 points from two matches and a win will get 5 points. All together that will make them total of 71 points. Liverpool to win all remaining matches will have them 9 more points and total of 71. I don't trust Utd but managing 6 points from the remaining matches is not going to be hard for them.

To be honest I don't see Liverpool has a chance.

Apart from Newcastle's points loss, we should also see three wins in a row from Liverpool (in addition to the 6 they already have). In this form, the puzzle looks less likely, doesn't it? Of course, anything can happen, but I don't believe in such miraculous transformations when one team starts playing sharply worse than its usual level, and the second one is better. And the quotes of the bookmakers that are written above seem fair to me.

We are terribly bad and I would not say this if it was a few weeks ago, but Newcastle are going to play an improved Chelsea side, we are actually looking like a team fighting to keep the momentum going, so it will be a hell of a game for Newcastle to get off the three point, i think their best chance is to beat Brighton and hope either Liverpool slip a little bit.

I'm not trying to portray how bad the Chelsea side obviously have been the season, I'm only saying Newcastle's remaining fixture might not be as tough as it would seem on paper, they've got a better goal difference than Liverpool, and of all 3 remaining for Newcastle matches only Brighton and Leceister have something to fight, and Leceister would also be playing Liverpool, while Brighton already more game at hand (5) to push for their chances, so it's not yet done for any team by any margin, it's just more of a slippery slope imo.

I completely understand what you mean, I'm just saying that we've improved and it's not as easy to collect points from us as it was a few weeks ago, we're not fighting for anything anymore, the clubs are only playing for the sake of the club reputation and the fans now, and I still believe Newcastle will finish in the top four regardless, they have come a long way to settle for less now.

Odd of Newcastle united finishing top 4 is 1.17, Liverpool 3.0

I think it’s unlikely but if we win our remaining 3 games we have a chance. Newcastle have a lot of players who have never won anything and haven’t played in big pressure situations like the Liverpool squad have. I don’t think Man Utd will choke to let us in, if it’s anybody it will be Newcastle. They have the toughest remaining fixtures out of the three teams looking for the 3rd & 4th CL place.

I might not completely agree with you that Newcastle of the remaining teams does have the toughest fixtures truly, because both Chelsea and Leceister City have been very awful, and might not pose a real threat against Newcastle, although I agree with you that Newcastle looks the likeliest to fold under pressure so far, they might maybe just get at most 4 or 3 point from the rest of their matches, but so can Man United too, a team that have dropped more points than both Liverpool and Newcastle combined in the last 5 fixtures.

Come on Newcastle. You cant drop points against Leeds, if you want to play UCL you cant made this kind of games.

Its LFC cursing again?.

For Leeds side a really big point, lets see how much worth at the end of the run/season.

In order for Newcastle and Manchester United to maintain their position, they must exert more effort. I don't think Liverpool will sit idly by, but will continue to perform well and achieve positive results. Who knows, maybe they will be lucky enough to reach third place.

I have started to do really bad in the pool in the recent times. But I still hope that I can finish the season in top 10.

I was never expecting Southampton to relegate from the Premier League as well. Southampton weren't too away from the relegation area in the previous season too though but I would have expected to see them the same again in the worst case. It was an important match against Fulham as they still had a chance to maintain their presence in the league mathematically. I picked a 2-1 win for Southampton too but unfortunately they lost.  Sad

Indeed, Southampton has had a very bad season and they have not been able to do anything to secure their place in the league.

I think that Liverpool is in a much better shape lately than Newcastle and Newcastle for me was the biggest surprise of today games as I am not calling the Tottenham team a surprise, they were beaten once again from an Aston Villa who is having a go to finish in European spots which most likely they do as they won a direct battle in today game.I don't think Newcastle is psychologically strong otherwise if they were the would have won the game against Leeds today, for me this not being able to beat Leeds says a lot about why they will continue with bad results most likely because of those strong encounters they have now in the end of the season.

To answer darxiaomi seperately: Everton was around 9.6 IIRC when I saw it on Sportsbet -- you always get good odds on underdogs on the earliest markets, if all things are equal. But sometimes, like with this tie, things actually went up quickly, before going down. With a boost, I pushed it over 10/1.

Ohhh guys, what a memories, playing WE or PES, in that time FIFA was a shit played for nobody (atleast here in Argentina) no matter they have oficial names/license, we love the Londob blue, meresryde red/blue, Man blue, etc.

And how we can forgot the WE or PES team, with the fake Romaldinho (PES UNITED).

About today games, i dont like them because they lack that "funny" part, you need to play good and a lot to be good, its more "profesional", back in the day they were more "arcade" and you can play with all your friends and no matter if they dont know how to play, they learn easily, obviusly if one play all day it gonna be much better, but a guy who play ffrom time to time, can play against him. Now that its imposible, a guy who play all the day at FIFA can win 10-0 easily against one who play sporadically.

Wow, it's funny, we've got Ige in Africa, you in S America and me in Southeast Asia, and we all grew up with the better version, WE Wink

I saw FIFA in the cyber cafes at the time and just couldn't understand why people played that, then I understood they never found WE. FIFA was for the noobs and those who didn't know how to bootleg =D

I still laugh when they say FIFA/WE were rivals. As you said, they had the licences, but we didn't care.

I loved the funny parts, for sure, I always remember the "Evolution" of graphics when I recognised Roberto Baggio.

City most likely will get a sure win against Everton during this weekend.

it is not most likely, it is almost certain if you are looking on odds, Everton home win is standing on double-digit odds
Leeds and Nottingham are playing on Saturday, as relegation opponents, and have a bit better position, but also high odds to win their matches against Newcastle and Chelsea

Leicester is bound on Monday with Liverpool

nevertheless, it is Premier league, and everything can happen in those matches, since relegation teams do not have many chances to change their fate and will fight till last minute

Where do you see the double digits odds on Everton to win?, i see them on 7.60 right now on SB, maybe a lot of people put money when they were at 10+ so now the odds drops. buwaytress was you putting money on everton?

I think also at 7.6 have something of value, everton in home with this manager against big teams.....

Depend on the bookies I'm currently having Everton on 8.40 odds from my end, it was 9.0 yesterday, the odd is not stable its being dropping and might likely hit 5 0r 6 before kickoff. Buwaytress are you going against Mancity? i doubt.

What the f)(k was this two matches?

Big points for everton and Bye bye to the UCL dream to Brighton.

For the pool..... how nobody have the guts to put a everton 5-1 win?   Rdbase where are you? And sojourner most know as buwaytress?
Even with my high scoring predictions wouldn't in my wildest dreams would of seen that happening with Everton.
I actually had modest scores last week but for this week I have gone back to putting in some high scoring ones.
Arsenal 6 goals happening you watch and witness!
They want to close that 1 point margin between them and Manchester City this weekend.

Brighton would not want to lose two games in a row because it would jeopardise their chances of qualifying for European football next season. De Zerbe stated after the Everton game that Arsenal will see the real Brighton this weekend, so it will be a tough game and could possibly be the title decider game for Arsenal, any more slip and they are completely out of the race, and any slip from Brighton means no European football next season, which is something they have been playing for all season

We always get strange results at the end of the season. Everton and Leicester are both fighting for their lives. They’re playing superior teams this weekend but anything can happen.

Hopefully Liverpool can win again to keep the pressure on Man Utd and Newcastle, the latter facing a tough trip to another team facing relegation, Leeds.

What the f)(k was this two matches?

Fulham Leicester 5-3 but in the reality Fulham was never on troubles in term on result. But 8 goals its a lot.

And........ Brigthon??? What the fuck they do? i dont see the game, but also in the stats they were dominant, Everton only shoot and cross midfield like 5 times and scores 5 goals? sriously? how this can happen? Well yes Football.

Big points for everton and Bye bye to the UCL dream to Brighton.

No matter how good Arsenal may be this season I don't think they have managed to score 6 goals in any of the games they have played during this season or maybe they may have done so in a game which I have not paid attention.Scoring 6 goals though now in the end of the season would be a nice achievement, nevertheless the problem of the Premier League is already decided and most likely City will be Champions as in the form they are now they can beat anyone in the Premier League and even outside in Champions.City most likely will get a sure win against Everton during this weekend.
