Got the 0.2 from Sportsbet so huge thanks to them and jeremypwr for sorting that out. It's 0.0025 to join and first place will be a guaranteed 0.1. The rest of the money will be split between 2nd to 10th places like last year. There will again be a free $50 bet to every weekly winner who scores the most points that round so that's 38 chances to win a free $50 bet. All you need to do is win one round and you've pretty much got your money back.

The Premier League starts on the 6th of August so we've got a month to get people signed up and paid. Please spread the word so we can hopefully get 50+ users and add to the pot.

This is amazing news. Cannot wait to start again and i think it will be an amazing season again. Also would be nice when the pool starts and all members enter that we know all prizes in advance for 1-10th place. Also im expecting 50+ members honestly

I'll post them as soon as everyone's paid. If people can pay ASAP that would be great so I can start planning the prizes so please don't leave it last minute if you can. The quciker we can get the prizes fixed in the more people will likely join once they know what they are.

Saw an email saying pool was destroyed, for some reason gave me a shock for a moment heh.

Yeah, please join the one sent via PM once you've paid.

Looking at the Manchester United situation, I think they'll be even worse than last year. They at least had Ronaldo banging in a ton of goals, but if he is to leave or worse yet refuse to train, and gets dropped I think they could be in some real trouble, because quite frankly he bailed them out last year multiple times. We also play them within the first couple of rounds, so we could maybe compound that pressure on them by beating them convincingly.

Cristiano bailed them out, and they let him down in my opinion.  The way MU finished the 2020/2021 season, and adding Renaldo before last season every one really expected more from them.  I was pretty sure they would take the league, or at least give City and LFC a more trouble than they did.  It was quite a disappointing season, and I'm sure Cristiano feels betrayed.  I don't know what they payed him, but at the time it was rumored that it had to be less than what City could offer.  What's crazy is he could probably still play at an above-average level.

I'd be surprised if he stays with no Champions League. He's going to want to hold onto that CL all tome top scorer lead which will be severely dented unless he can get himself to a team that is going to be playing in Europe. I'm sure he's conflicted with wages though as he might have to take a cut so there's that to weigh up. Not seeing him in the CL is kinda tragic. Maybe he should just go back to Real.

Anyway, if he doesn't stay in Manchester next year I hope he signs with the San Jose Earthquakes!  Grin

Speaking of American soccer, I should probably mention it here; I paid for an extra spot for this year's pool, and I want to give it away.

Requirements:
  • Jr. Member or higher rank
  • American citizen (no proof required)
  • Living in the US (no proof required)
  • Never joined this pool before

I'm not going to request KYC, lol, so please be honest if you want me to consider you.

I couldn't understand how you related Formula 1 to the Premier League.  Tongue Your position in football pools is way ahead of mine however I believe in myself this season. IoI  The entry fee for next season is a good choice of prize. Deal!  Wink

Bastardness tends to transcend type of sport. But each season seems to bring new bastards, and I really enjoy how competitive it's become. We have a deal, do remind me if I forget when I win =D

Last season, Spurs, United, Chelsea were my bet destroyers. If I'd focused more on MLs I'd probably have done better but we all like an acca or two a day don't we? I'd really love to win a big one but don't recall ever coming close on anything approaching 1000/1.
I never do singles. So, when I'm close to winning its usually big. Of course, due to putting one massive accumulators I never win. So, when I do it's a pleasant surprise. The UFC win I had a week or two ago was massive for me. My first win of the year Cheesy.

I'm just that crazy bastard that puts on at least 4/5 fold accumulators, but most of the time up to 8 fold accumulators. I basically donate money Tongue.

I remember that one, perhaps you'd be celebrating more wins as a casher outer..! I certainly would have on my singles -- last one was Villa leading 2-0 at City on final day and when they were weathering the storm I should have taken 15/1.

5 is actually my limit (and only because of Sportsbet's acca insurance + boost), but they're generally 20-30/1. I do fantasise about those million-to-1 odds I only do with the 0.1mbtc freebets. One day...

@igehhh yes, thank you for Salah, Sturridge. Rejects at Chelsea, heroes of sorts at Anfield Wink

Not sure if you had more success the other direction... Torres sticks out a lot ha.
Without a doubt, we have helped some of our rivals in the past with out-of-favour players, particularly Manchester City, who built their team with our players after the oil money takeover, and we gave them Wayne Bridge and Wright Phillips, who were the only quality players in that team at the time. We also indirectly aided Liverpool and Manchester United. Grin

William Gallas was traded for Ashley Cole from Arsenal, who went on to become one of the best left backs in the world.

Torres' iconic moment came in the Champions League against Barcelona, when he paid off his debt and led us to the final. We pull him out of shit at  Liverpool and turned him into a European double champion.

I've done a couple rounds in advance, and I've already input two weeks later this year where I'll be away on a trip. So, I've already input more predictions than last year Cheesy. I won't forget this year I promise, but I definitely can't promise I'll be any good. I've been close to winning big money before betting on the Premier League though. One time I was two results away from £200k+, and another goal away from £25k. Funnily enough, Chelsea is usually the team that lets me done, and usually are the bloody favourites. Despite being close a few times, I've never won big though.
I made some cool money off my club Chelsea from February to August last season, I knew we were shit it's always painful to go against your favorite club, especially when you're watching and wishing them to win while also wanting them to lose so you can make some money Angry I went with the BTS tip the majority of the time, and it paid off because we couldn't keep a single clean sheet.

Last season, Manchester United and Leeds United were my bet destroyers; I knew both teams were bad, but their odds were always appealing, so I sunk every time I chose them.

I did learn to stay off United after a while but Rangnick in and Ronaldo playing like a beast fooled me back in a few times. Yeah I don't see any light end of tunnel for them this season. This Ten Haag guy's probably in for a rude shock.

great news regarding sponsorship, thanks to jeremypwr, Sportsbet, Steve and hilarious for organizing the pool
am I missed info, or there is an address to pay down the entry fee?

last season was generous to me, had one yellow cap and overall win, next one cannot be better, but will try my best to be within top10 positions
hopefully, Blues will fight for European spot, not relegation, but transfers so far says other than that

I know we're 4 weeks away but already looking at fixture list and Liverpool play a promoted club (again). Always feel like they're most dangerous at first game (remember 4-3 Leeds opening game?).

Salah to score is the dream, to keep the opening day scoring every season record. I'd settle for a 2-nil win though and no injuries and everyone playing easy.

I think that I will be able to finish the pool above you. Are you in for a little bet?  Grin

Chelsea is smarter than Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. We don't rely on sponsorship deals like the other two clubs, so the majority of our spending comes from player sales. Chelsea is also a selling club. We currently have the best Academy in the league. Every club in the EPL has formal/chelsea players.. Grin
That's the unfortunate bit though. You guys haven't really utilised these players yourselves, and instead have shipped them onto the highest bidder. Sure, if that works for you it works, but when you go, and invest into Lukaku with that money you've generated, there's some issues there.
A woman can have a crush on you and still reject you; that's how football works; you put your money in and hope he succeeds; it's a dangerous business Angry Lukaku had a fantastic season before we signed him, and we had no idea he was just a one-season wonder.

Was Zouma an academy player? Look, I definitely don't like what he has done recently, and quite frankly he has lost a fan because of that, but there was a time he was looking like the most promising player coming out of Chelsea. A real world beater when it comes to defenders. He's playing for West Ham now, so its not all bad, but he could've been something special. I guess, with the somewhat recent news of a certain incident, it kind of indicates that his attitude is all wrong, and that's why he didn't really take off in the way I thought he would. Obviously, injuries too.
Of course not! We signed him from Saint- Etienne at the age of 19 and developed him into a man; he had his best season under Jose Mourinho before suffering a long fracture that ended his Chelsea career; he was not the same when he returned. What a lovely professional.

Animal cruelty is wrong, but the world should stop treating him as if he committed murder; we all make mistakes..

I like the emphasis on youth development by Chelsea, I just kind of wished they'd use it more to ease them into the senior side, because you've had some great players that were definitely capable of doing so.

About Ziyech, I knew he was going somewhere since he is way too good player to not actually play. My point was more on the line that Chelsea had winger like Ziyech and opted to not use him. Maybe it is because I don't like Sterling very much but I feel like they should have given Ziyech proper chance. I know I don't have all the facts, maybe he is a prick in dressing room or worst one in training and if that is true get rid of him for sure.
Last season, Ziyech lost more possessions than the entire Chelsea team. He's a good player, but the EPL is too intense for him; he'd do better in a less intense league like Laliga or Serie A. He has a great attitude and has never been a problem in the locker room, but he is not the typical Tuchel player.

City and PSG I really dislike in a way because they just had no need to make business. And if they have great talents they always arrive already with big debt. Same as Chelsea initially but now I think you guys have to play nice under new boss.

Thank you Steve, jeremypwr, Sportsbet, hilariousandco!

I will enter the pool by next weekend with my payment. I did badly of course but next season Spurs!!!

Yeah, I just looked it up, and yes, I'm impressed with Liverpool's business since Klopp took over. With the way they're buying players, it's easy to think they're overspending without realizing they're getting more than they're paying for. My club, Chelsea, is one of the top five clubs in terms of net spending, and as the club with the most loaned out players, I believe it is time to focus more on cashing in on them rather than loaning for free. In any case, only 3% of them make it back to our main squad.

Manchester United, the English club with the most debt, has spent the most money since 2017 with nothing to show for it. One of England's worst-run clubs.

Indeed,,, I am not a Liverpool or Arsenal fan, never have been but I always felt Arsenal were the best run club in the whole league for 20 years until Wenger got kicked out and see how they are now, spending so much and going nowhere. And Liverpool yes they make big buys, but always from a proper accounting of business. Money in then money out. And just look how they somehow find diamonds like Suarez, Torres, Salah. America, European, African. And turn them all into Golden Boot winners and amazing talent.

Spurs not bad, but recently not good and Conte is known spender. But we made the first Asian Golden Boot also from unknown. That is something I always feel so proud of.

City and PSG I really dislike in a way because they just had no need to make business. And if they have great talents they always arrive already with big debt. Same as Chelsea initially but now I think you guys have to play nice under new boss.

United is the worst indeed. They had no money but put their own club up as collateral to borrow money. Last season they made LOSS and their owners paid each other millions in bonus. And they hate to make stars they buy stars. After teenage Ronaldo, who did they build up?

I hope to see a shock this season, either someone big relegates, or someone small wins.

Chelsea and Raheem Sterling reached an agreement on personal terms worth £300k/week. This would make him the club's highest-paid player. he's one of the league's best wingers, we needed someone with his pace and 1v1 dribble success.
Sure you did, cause Ziyech is player that doesn't have dribbling skills, and you are missing pace with Werner and Pulisic Grin Sterling is not worth that money for me, especially in a club like Chelsea where you already have very good options on the wing. I am thinking Chelsea only needed to replace central defenders that left the club and bring in one proper striker, maybe Lewandowski if he is interested. Everything else is not worth that much money.
Ziyech is on his way to AC Milan, and the Sterling deal makes a lot of sense because he's an upgrade over Ziyech and CHO. Pulisic is good, but Sterling will be the overall best winger in the squad when he arrives. Werner has good speed; having him, Sterling, and Kai up front would be exciting.

On his salary, he was already earning £300,000 per week at Manchester City, so there was no way he was going to accept a pay cut when City was ready to offer him a better contract extension; I believe it's a win-win situation for all parties involved, especially since he's still 27.

We paid Lukaku £350,000 per week to confess his feelings for Inter Milan and his girlfriend on the bench.

Lewandowski is behaving like a schoolboy; he only wants to play for Barcelona and has cut ties with other clubs. Barcelona or I retire Grin Chelsea will never get him. We are attempting to fill Rudiger and Christiansen's positions with De Ligt and Aker.
