Never really see Twitter but this caught my eye and I can't unsee:

https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1226125662894862343

Watching the game and yes, it's actually pretty equal (trying to be objective here). I can't begrudge Walcott's two goal involvements in 2 games, but Zaha is being his usual thorn and Palace still get really tricky WHEN they get the ball to their front three. They've switched Zaha to the right and Ayew getting some joy too. They've got Benteke too but need more corners and freekicks to try aim for him. AND on another day might have gotten the penalty when Zaha got sandwiched and bundled over.

Second half's started. And Pickford barely punched away the first attack with McCarthy's homing in... and now Benteke's got it to 1-1. Maybe he doesn't need crosses after all when Pickford plays like this! Zaha assist and GAME ON but hilarious looking good at 1-1?

I need a better hobby when my team isn't playing. Scenes of RH and CA chatting together makes me feel old.

They said on the commentary that in the last 10 PL games Everton have the 2nd most points after LFC in 1st.
Ancelotti is doing a really good job with some very average players.

@hilariousetc - I just can’t pick the right draws ! Drives me nuts Wink

Everton 1 - 0

Anyone watching it ?

Well they're always tricky and that's why most people don't go for them but there's usually always a few a week so they're games you can grab points from others on... but then of course you can also lose points of them. Most people tend to back the home team in these situations which is wise, but you're going to miss out if it is indeed a draw... or of course an away win. I'm not watching the game (and won't be watching the other) but I'm still hoping my 1-1 can come in. Possession is almost 50/50 so far:

Doesn't always tell the whole story though. 50% possession in your own half wouldn't be great  Cheesy. Everton obviously have the slight advantage being at home but the stats are pretty equal on the whole. Palace haven't had a shot on target yet but they hit the woodwork so narrowly avoided a goal.

Edit:  My stream sucks right now..  I'll watch the highlights later.

Yeah me, it was a great finish by Bernard. Crystal Palace just aren’t creating anything at all atm. Hodgson will get sacked soon if they continue to get terrible results.

Don't forget there's games on tomorrow. Only four games in total on the weekend. Two games on Saturday and two on Sunday until next Friday:

Everton v Crystal Palace
Brighton v Watford
Sheffield United v Bournemouth
Manchester City v West Ham United

Can't say I'm interested or excited in any of those. Really tough calls in them all except the City game.

Having the same feeling too, as among the games only Manchester city I can easier bet on to win while Eve vs Cry looks like a draw to me, same with SHE vs BOU. While watford looks favorite to win against Brighton and that's how I'll be placing my bets anything soon.  For the rest games, I might take sometime to think about them. I never knew we had match this week until few minutes ago, I thought the premier league will resume next week.

Been routing for Watford for quite some time now and they have not disappointed, at the beginning of the season they were the worst team but the new manager is doing an awesome job in reviving the club. The goals and understanding between the players can be observed from their current style of play.

The Everton game is on right now and I've gone for 1-1. Bafflingly I'm the only person to have gone for a draw on that game. Everybody apart from two users have backed the home win. I think I'll go with the home win on the Sheffield game. I am tempted for the draw but I can't go for all draws again and Sheffield are pretty strong at home.

I'd back Watford at home but not away to Brighton and that's why I've gone for a draw on that game.

My picks are in  Smiley
I think Brighton v Watford is the trickiest pick today - heart says Watford , but head says Brighton .
All home wins this weekend ?

Well that's when you go for the draw.

^  When in doubt, bet on the club at home imo.

Looking forward to watch Ancelotti vs Woy, who could outfox him out there (maybe Steve Bruce could)...  I think we need an English manager at a big club in the EPL.

As above: draw. I don't think Brighton are good enough to beat Watford personally.

Yeah guys, I've put my picks in. Good thing is you put them in now and don't have to do again for a while after. Everton-Palace about to kick off, I'm thinking the London boys will pull off a win. City, of course, will bounce back against a hapless West Ham, but you guys already know who I put money on;) The odds were impossible to ignore!

I really can't see a Palace win here and only two users have gone for the away win. If I had to pick a winner it would be Everton to be honest but this game has draw written all over it.

I mean: Palace 6/1 and West Ham 25/1 =p I'll probably lose both but surely that's good value at least for Palace?

@Cryptopreneurbrainboss Actually Watford are not the favs in this match (7/2), which also makes them good value for me haha.

@toke I generally agree with you, but only when the odds are tight. It doesn't work out these days though on the picks I make. I think home crowds are different nowadays but oh EPL COULD get back standing rights!

I've been in standing stadiums most of my life and it still feels weird to sit at a game... so glad at Anfield on Kop end people still refuse to sit haha.

Am I missing something or what just four matches for this week and 6 for next week...

It's because of the winter break, it is introduced this season for the first time to give the players a break. Some teams play today and others next week.

Oh and @toma there IS an FA rule in their competitions that you have to play your best: "each team participating in a match shall represent the full available strength of each competing club" ('Provisions Concerning Players 15.a.'). It's just never enforced in any way, so...
There it is! Knowing how strict the FA is, i kinda expected a rule like this to exist somewhere which is why I asked in my last post  Cheesy

@Trofo thanks for the info! Very informative.

Yikes! nothing worth watching. This is probably the first time this season that i'm gonna skip watching EPL games during the weekend :/
I'm about to make my picks, and i think i'm gonna go with home wins, except for the Brighton game (kinda hard to predict, tbh).
Am I missing something or what just four matches for this week and 6 for next week very wired thing happen as I was going to few parlays but now time to change things three matches are ok for home teams and one is something tricky as Brighton home record and Watford away record both are nearly close so this can go in draw.

@hilarious: I think it's high time the English FA modernise. The winter break (however you wanna call it) WILL be a good thing. And players need time with families but we love our winter games and December so I'm happy to let that continue if we have to sacrifice 2 weeks in Feb. I noticed it also times with Valentine's day so maybe that's deliberate;) And I can finally take my girl out without missing footie =p

Yeah. I guess it's nice to watch the games over the holidays as a spectator but players deserve a break and to be with their families etc, especially on boxing day and new years day where there now expected to play and then and then there's the sheer amount of them all stuffed together around that time. Maybe they should have more breaks throughout the season or just straight extend the season out a bit and closer into summer. The season doesn't really need to finish in early May. I'm sure the players would much prefer to play in summer than the cold months as well. As long as it doesn't clash with the EUROs or World Cup then I can't see an issue.

@Trofo, you're also right about player registrations I believe. If they're not registered as part of the squad (and that's including reserves and most of the promoted to U23s, NOT the youth), they can't play. Can't remember but someone in the EPL recently got fined for playing someone who wasn't registered. But I think with FA and EFL, almost no problems with squads like Liverpools who actually aren't THAT big. It's guys like Chelsea a season or two ago, who had signed SO many players and then loaned them out, they forgot to register some of them!

@hilarious nope, no comment. I really tried looking too, because even up to the match itself I was hoping we'd get a view of Klopp at least. But you know who showed up? Millie, love the man.

And yeah I do hope the FA fine Liverpool... I still think Klopp made the right call, but a fine would coax more responses and I would love this whole thing to lead to real fixes in the cup. I agree with all who say games should always be played away from the seeded opponent, and no replays. But that would rob the others of the chance of ever playing at a big stadium too so I get it if the smaller teams can be given the CHOICE of ground. I would definitely go for that.

My only hope is that the protest at least opens up a dialogue about what needs to change in the game. I think most people agree that it becomes too much and far too hectic at certain points in the year with the holiday games and then when there's multiple competitions going on (domestic cups and euro leagues etc (and then there's also internationals)).

It might be enforced now. I guess in the past it's hard to define or gauge what is the strongest available team unless they put a blatant b-team out and you can always come up with some excuse like the player needs a rest or isn't 100% fit to try justify an obviously weakened team.

I knew that you have to register players before season start and that young players and home grown players give you more places over the limit but had to google the exact numbers, so here follows the quotes from official premier league page.

Quote
Each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfill the "Home Grown Player" (HGP) criteria.
The rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be "Home Grown".
Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad.
For the 2019/20 campaign Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 1998.

Quote
A "Home-Grown Player" means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).

That means that Klopp is well within his rights to field young players whenever he wants too even in the league.

The EFL has the same rule actually, but with a provision allowed if circumstances prevent (so Liverpool actually played their U23 in Carabao with the blessing of the organisers).

Expect an FA fine or something.

Meanwhile. My bet on Southampton tonight! Go Saints! Already down to Ndombele hahaha...
