What a wonderful day of football results in the PL  Cool
The only way it could any better would be if Luton take something against Man City tomorrow but that’s very unlikely.

Back to back home games for Liverpool now in the PL against Man Utd and Arsenal. Will be tough but at Anfield not many teams get anything. Klopp 2.0 is cooking.

Only the Liverpool match managed to guess perfectly, but the other 5 matches were wrong, unlucky this week so many surprises from small teams especially Manchester United who were battered by Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

In the Manchester United vs Bournemouth match there were no correct guesses, all wrong on Superbru. Grin
Just check and feeling frustrated because I also have only one positive with all others are going wrong which mean I have no chance for jumping out from my current spot in pool which is going deep after every round Bournemouth done impressive job against Manchester United now I have feeling soon we will have some changes in this club.
Arsenal is doing their best but Aston Villa having impressive performance in last few weeks and look like now they are new top spot contender which is just because of amazing work by the Emery who bring them from nowhere to top, and now they are strong enough for staying here.

Arsenal goal disallowed due to offside but still 25 minutes left in this match, and we can expect good action from the both sides which are trying to stay in top ranks.

Same got the correct result on Liverpool and that boosted me pretty well making my lead of 9.5 points over the second and third player. But other results was so close to getting a perfect score and ended up getting 0 from them all. Hoping now that Aston Villa wins that would help me a lot.

Liverpool made hardwork of it but still managed to win and go top of the table for the first time this season (I think).

Yet another disappointing outing for Nunez and I dare say Salah too, even though he got his landmark 200 goals for Liverpool. Klopp will need to do some more work on the team if they want to win the league this season. But for now, they can kick their feet up and watch what happens at Villa park.

Liverpool achieve their target as Mohammad Salah and Elliot done impressive job in last few minutes and able to secure three points and top spot in league table, hopefully now they will give their best for keeping this for long time currently Gunners are struggling against spirited Aston Villa, and we have 45 minutes and two goals if they want to take back their spot but after end of first half its look like not easy job.
Manchester City is going to stay at third spot, and we are going to have new teams taking charge of top spots Spurs and Citizens are down and United humiliated by Bournemouth look like things could be very interested in next half of this season.

Nice! It’s a pity that such a bold prediction gives only 1 point of advantage against those who bet on the favorite. Although I remember that the odds were close, most people saw Newcals as the winner no matter what.
For me, this is an unsuccessful round, so I won’t even look at the details, but I think that those who predicted Tottenham’s defeat are even fewer, although the result is classic (2-1) and it will be a full three points.

It's a frequent complaint of mine on Superbru. That the reward is so puny compared to the risk that it is very seldom wise to go against the grain. Over the seasons, I have slowly adjusted, no longer making bold predictions. I remember predicting 4-0 Liverpool beating United. We ended up winning 5-0. 1.5 points for that? Ridiculous.

My experiment in the UCL pool is an attempt to bring a bit more encouragement to back the unlikely result.

Anyway, early kickoff not good. Am out all day, will miss Liverpool...

Yes, this is a wonderful experiment, but now the situation has become sharply opposite: a crowd of lagging behind easily makes all-in bets to catch up with the leaders (who seem to be playing reliably), but since there are many lagging behind (and their total chances are high), this provokes the leaders too take more risks. In general, we'll see how it all ends, but I can assume that the volatility here will be too great to talk about a serious competition.
We need to come up with something in between. For example, so that the one who goes against the opinion of 90% of the participants receives more points (we need to come up with some kind of proportion for different ratios). It's too unfair when 15 people get 3 points for an accurate score of 2-1, and someone gets 3 points for a score of 4-0.
I understand that this is all difficult to implement (especially manual counting - this should be avoided), I’m just speculating.

Yep, we don't thrill but we still manage to collect the points somehow. With Villa leading, it looks like we'll finish this round on top.
To be honest, Villa is one of the nicest surprises of the season. I feel they'll manage to secure top 4 - they look way better than Spurs, United and Newcastle.

The fixture build up over the festive period really separates the contenders from the pretenders doesn’t it. So many games in such a short space of time, very little recovery time, the injuries build up. It’s cold, gets dark early. I always think this upcoming period shows who will fight for the title and who won’t.

We move to the next round of fixtures. Liverpool go away to Crystal Palace, Aston Villa host leaders Arsenal and out of form Man City go to Luton. It’s going to be a weekend full of drama.

Come on Liverpool.

This upcoming fixtures are really difficult and i think that it will be hard to predict. I really think that its gonna be a problem for everyone and who ends up this week on top is really good. Because this can make a difference and i dont think that this matches are easily. Liverpool has a hard match but can win and must win for first place.

I think Liverpool is the most stable team from the recent results and they are a team that should not worry for thinking about European competition like Manchester United or any other team will have to do some calculations. They will go all in at this fixture as they know it is extremely important to them to keep winning in order to get as many points as possible.I know that Liverpool also knows from experience that they have won so many similar Premier League titles by being very consistent compared to all other teams and I think they have high chances to win this year too.

Currently, situation is clearly interesting but still we have few good matches which can give good points as well, but few matches are surely going to have problems with teams are now having tough time and things can take good change as well. Liverpool having good chance for the table topper, and they need to avail this with Aston Villa is now also having good performance and good reward as well, but City and Tottenham are surely the biggest casualties right now, and they need to act quickly otherwise they can face more heat in near future with few teams are doing better.

Arsenal are back in business (apparently I got in at the moment when they changed the odds), but City's quote is again depressing - it seems to me that they are still overvalued.
They seem to be updating it regularly cause City's odds is back up to 1.89 now and Arsenal is unavailable again for selection. Only plausible thing is the Arsenal odd is still being calculated for the best possible outcome, but it is getting lots of attention now.

Wonder who will throw some bucks on a smaller team like Aston Villa, similar to the Leicester title winning season.

Also how do you feel about Nunez?
I can't stand him. Sure, he gets into chances, I don't even mind that he misses so many.
But he's the epitome of a player I hate the most - a brainless idiot who doesn't understand anything about football and just runs into empty space and shoots with his eyes closed.

I cannot fathom that these people nowadays go for 60, 70, 80 mil euros. I live for the day we sell him.
Nunez is a painful player to watch play. I remember when they played Manchester United and he was fouling inside the box. And I don't mean he was making it look like an accidental hit. But he was full out arms extended pushing the guys, as if he was looking for a foul. He was red carded from what I recall. After that incident I have seen him as a reckless player. And with those you don't have much faith in when it comes down to the wire in most games.
But reminds me of Bruno Fernandes, he was doing well last season at the beginning but then let himself slide into the same fate as Nunez.
I can't stand watching either of these players now.

The player which comes to mind lately has been Declan Rice.
The 100 mil pounds they spent on him was worth every penny. With that last game with seconds left he pulls the game out of the fire. Superb player and they should pay West Ham whatever they still owe for him from arrangments they had made in the deal.

Exactly, and the fact that he's already making available about 6-7 different lineup combinations that are very competitive regardless their opponent is what give Man City the edge to have his usual 13-14 straight winning streak, or without losing. The festive season is fast approaching already, and that is when the essence of a great squad depth is most relevant. I wouldn't even say there is any cause for alarm for Man City to be honest, my only observation would be that Haaland has become quite rusty(perhaps, wasteful), I can't say if it's fatigue or just lack of psychological confidence, maybe he's just a victim of his own last season success, regardless, Guardiola would highly be in need of their goal scoring machine to weather the storm yet again this season.
I was just checking the point table for the teams. In last 5 matches City seems lost their way. WDDDL, they lost 9 points in the last 5 match which is not typical City. This is a good sign for the rivals though LOL. City needs a few more matches like this to continue and I think if Liverpool don't slip too, we have a great chance to lead the table and eventually to win the season title.

Where is @LFC and @buwaytress and the rest of the team? 😁

Can anyone explain this?

Winner

Manchester City 1.85

Liverpool 4.41

Aston Villa 25.48

Tottenham Hotspur 40.18

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/soccer/england/premier-league/premier-league-23-24-64c766be49a198000153bbb8

It's quite funny that the bookmakers changed the City quote from 1.1 to 1.85 in just one round, but why can't they quote Arsenal? Is this a mystical team with unclear odds or is it some kind of technical error?

upd: I swear while I was writing this post, the quotes changed:

Manchester City 1.23

Arsenal 1.64

Liverpool 1.96

Aston Villa 10.78

Newcastle United 16.66

Tottenham Hotspur 20.58

Arsenal are back in business (apparently I got in at the moment when they changed the odds), but City's quote is again depressing - it seems to me that they are still overvalued.

By the way the number of people who thought Everton would win was low and this made me surprised....
Most players prefer to play it safe and go with the expected odds hoping to come out on top more times than not. I made a couple bold predictions this match mid-week, and surprisingly the most unlikely ones were the ones that were correct, with the Everton and Villa win, and the more likely upsets did not.

The question now is will City struggle at Kenilworth road this weekend?

I predicted Everton to be able to win today. However a 3-0 score wasn't an expected result even for me.
~snip

EPL just motivated us to play better
I expected a clean sheet at home, but didn't see these two late goals

lost 0,5 points for a close score, but happy for Beto, he scored his first EPL goal for Everton in 90+7 minute, overtime (and Doucs goal was good for my FPL team, so it is not a zero-sum game either)
and with this win, Everton is out from relegation zone, just three rounds after 10 point deduction #UTFT #weshallnotbemoved
