Remember that referee from AFCON who ended game on 85th minute? He is back and will work on Belgium - Canada game. Following new trends of additional time, it's interesting how much time he will add today Cheesy

I never lock my picks but yesterday night did so for the games of today as I wanted to see what everyone else was thinking about the games and I was surprised for the good that not a single person as of yesterday night had predicted a draw or lost game for Belgium. This means that I am assuming it is free money for me if I bet on them at 1.53 so far because I think two big surprises in two consecutive days is highly unlikely to happen and Canada is one of the worse teams of this tournament.
I didn't even made prediction for this game yet. I don't think that there is such thing in World Cup like free money, unless your opponent is Qatar. But yeah I expect Belgium win, maybe it's worth to put them on parlay together with Germany.

In fact, although Belgium is a strong team, the balance of power in this pair is not at all the same as in the pair Argentina - Saudi Arabia, I would say that this pair is much closer to the pair Denmark - Tunisia, where a draw happened   Wink
I hope Belgium wins but I won't be surprised even if Canada wins. This is a game with mutual chances.

Giroud now equals with Henry by scoring 51 goals for national team. He is simply perfect player for national team and I think that he is underrated a bit too much. France won comfortable, despite conceding first. Simply better team won.
It's already lot of said about Argentina loss, but Saudi Arabia coach is genius or idiot to play with such defense line against Argentina. And when Argentina conceded 2 goals in few minutes, it looked that they weren't ready for such scenario and didn't knew what to do.
Not much what to say about Tunisia - Denmark game, it was boring and Denmark looked disappointing.
Mexico - Poland. Guillermo Ochoa  appears once in 4 years during World Cup and becomes best goalkeeper in the world for few weeks. He did it again today. While Lewandowski still have 0 Wordl Cup goals in his career.

I read that he has a broken jaw and a shattered bone in his face, as well as internal bleeding. It was shared in a Whatsapp group so am unaware of the source, but apparently he is already in Germany, where he has to do reconstructive surgery.
A private jet was organized by Mohammed bin Salman - the new Newcastle owner.

Take all of this with a pinch of salt before it's officially confirmed, but this guy is usually spot on with his info.

Hope the guy will be OK, really a horrible way to end the tournament after such a performance.
That collision was really scary. If it's not fake, here is how his jaw looked after x-ray scan. And I think that everything is ended good for him, there was big risk to be killed or become disabled in such collisions.

Was a very nasty collision. One of the worst I've seen but he seemed to be ok leaving the pitch.

France vs Australia

6 minutes to kick off. I’m looking forward to this one, obviously Mbappe is on show but I want to see big Konate play. As you all know he’s a Liverpool player & based on form for club he’s been better than VVD.

Expecting France to win comfortably but as the earlier game showed with Saudi Arabia, this is the WC, anything can happen.

This was different and started with a goal from Australia but France reacted really well and is now leading and most likely will win since the result is 4-1 for France.France turned things around since the first half and that is how a Champion team should react to no matter how the game precipitates.

For me is the only 1 point from all today games, for Argentina everybody lost points, for the others I don't know but I expected a win from Denmark and Poland and Lewandowski lost the penalty which could have won them the game.

Phew, this was unexpected Grin
The Saudis actually played really well - I said that they look quite organized after their last friendly against Croatia.

Still, Argentina did enough to win - but this is the beauty of football. This will make the group more interesting for sure.
No one was seeing it. After long streak of winning Argentina never thought they will have to lose against a team like Saudi Arabia. No one even imagined it.

Bale saved me on pool prediction as I was doing really badly up until then, and also saved my sole acca so far. Just need Argentina to score 3 goals and I bring home my first World Cup acca Wink
It's gone. It was supposed to be a sure scoring for your acca. They were unlucky too besides the poor playing.

Today really is the day for the bookmakers. They made billions from Argentina vs Saudies. They also made money in Denmark vs Tunisia.

Holy f*ck man.I never expected a Saudi Arabia win especially when I recall very well the 8-0 loss they had in such earlier event against Germany. This clearly shows that Argentina did not take them seriously as adversaries and were surprised for the worse,I didn't bet on money line but had a lot of tickets at over 3.5 goals because that was the most natural thing to do and had a pool prediction of 4-0 for Argentina. Now this puts Argentina in a very dangerous position forced to win the two remaining group games which not always can come true,it was the biggest surprise of the World Cup and I doubt we will see a bigger one.

Will it work out like that again against Poland and Mexico? I honestly don't think so.
No one expected this result. I have predicted 4-1 win for Argentina, if I'm correct, no one in the pool even predicted Saudi will score. It wasn't luck of course. They played better, specially they defended better. If you look at their last few matches score, you will find that they didn't concede a lot of goals. Most of the games ended up conceding zero goal or one.
This match will certainly boost up their confidence. Anything can happen. I wouldn't if they manage to win one more match or get a draw against both team.

On current match, Denmark was expected to be one of the best teams in this world cup. Their win against France and consistency was signalling something. They are favorite but still having hard times to score against Tunisia. Would it be another shock tonight?

What a game. Still in shock. How the hell did Argentina lose that.  Cheesy

Nobody predicted that or even a draw which is not suprising. They deserved it. They were by far the better team in the second half. Their defence was solid and even Messi couldn't penetrate it. Could they be a surprise of the tournament? I'm sure they will be pumped up now and they've got a lot of fans there being next door to Qatar so that could spur them on a bit. If they can beat Argentina then they can sure beat Mexico and Poland though those teams are certainly no pushovers.

Well, well... let's wait and see, I guess. The Saudi Arabian team certainly can't deliver a performance like today against Argentina in every match. Today it all came together: They were highly motivated, made many right decisions and, of course, had a lot of luck. If Argentina takes a 2-0 lead, the game goes in a completely different direction.

Will it work out like that again against Poland and Mexico? I honestly don't think so. The Saudi Arabian team and the fans are likely to be very euphoric now. But above all, the victory against Argentina is a message to Poland and Mexico not to underestimate the Saudis.

In addition, Poland's and Mexico's chances of reaching the last 16 have not diminished today. However, both need a win against the Saudis if they want to reach the next round. The next matches are going to be fun. Nice!

I didn’t realise there were 52 of us in the pool this year, that must be a record. Pretty awesome, I suppose the massively generous sponsorship by sportsbet.io helps hey, boys Grin

I’m enjoying it all so far, certainly brightens up a mundane average working week.

Tomorrow we have:

Argentina vs Saudi Arabia
Mexico vs Poland

Denmark vs Tunisia
France vs Australia

There's 61 in the PL pool but I'm happily surprised we got 50 users for this one as we only organised it on short notice. I've no doubt it was only because of the hefty sponsorship from Sportsbet.

Who’s watching Argentina?

Messi with his first goal already, didn’t take long although it was a penalty. I thought it was a soft pen to be honest but you can’t risk grabbing shirts at set pieces. Saudi coming back into it, still only 1-0 so let’s see what happens. Next goal very important here.

Excuse me, what the hell is going on here? Saudi Arabia turning a 0:1 into a 2:1? WTF?

And I of course placed one of my freebets on Argentina. Don't be like me boys. I jinxx it all the time.  Sad

If the match really does end 2-1 for Saudi Arabia, that would probably already be the biggest surprise of the World Cup. Come on, Messi, you can't be serious.

P.S: I pray for that lad who got hit on his face. It looked really bad.

It's an eyesore and it left the keeper very broken for a while but I think he'll be fine really and should even be okay for the second game, because him giving them the thumbs has his being taken of the pitch shows he's conscious and I think that's what could be been the first biggest scare.

Argentina's record unbeaten streak (36 games) is broken. Italians remain champions (37 games).
Now the situation is quite ridiculous - fanboys want to praise Messi (after all, he scored a goal), but Argentina lost shamefully and, in general, Messi played poorly. I think fanboys have severe cognitive dissonance  Grin

... Next goal very important here.
Nothing more to continue in the continuity of you phrase when the first half ended 1x0.

 Unexpectedly 1x2.

It's simple... Saudi Arabia was forceful, a very well planned game by the Saudi coach.

Today he has won football and that is what makes it beautiful.

Italy 90, lost to Cameroon also in their first match.

 It's okay...2(6) left...

LOL LOL Argentina, LOL LOL Argentina 🤣
Is anyone in the world ever thought Saudi Arabia would win by 1 - 2 today? Even their team management?
Feel sorry for Messi and his team. They were super unlucky today.
We can register the biggest upset of this world cup so far already happened.

Well done Saudi Arabia!

Crazy scenes right here man!

Argentina could be said to put themselves here, but regardless it's a very great tactics from Saudi Arabia, they seem to be well aware of their situation and were prepared for it!

Edit: Less than 10 minutes left to play for, and Argentina would put themselves in the worse position if they can come up without an equalizer at the very least here.

It's final! the biggest upset so far, and probably the biggest will see in this tournament!
