Wow! Serbia just comeback and score two goals before first half ended! This is the best and quickest comeback so far in a World Cup history so massive congrats for Serbia!

Next game South Korea - Ghana and it's another game where I do see both of them scoring in first half too. Cool

Spain can even afford to lose (if it's not a massive defeat and Germany doesn't score many goals against Costa Rica) because Spain has a much better goal difference.

Honestly Spain played better than Germany yesterday and they deserved to win the game,Germany was lucky to get a draw with that strong hit inside the zone from that Werder Bremen player which is the second to score for Germany.Spain had another great chance which they missed and thus the game ended in a draw.I think now Spain will have just to get a draw to pass further but I am sure that they will win against Japan if they play like they have played in these first to games of the tournament.

I missed points in this game as I had it 2-1 and I was expecting a correct score but Spain could not score.

Nice goal from Füllkrug, he's really an enrichment for Germany.
Füllkrug could have even scored a second goal if Musiala notices him and doesn't try to score himself but makes an assist to Füllkrug in a better position.

Maybe that was Musiala getting back at him for stealing first goal from him, because it seemed Musiala was going to attempt the shot, but the maybe it would gone wide or Unai Simon getting to save it, Füllkrug had a better angle and with his typical no. 9 instinct. it was easier for him to find the back of the net despite the fact that it was a somewhat tight angle to score from.

By the way, doesn't Germany need only victory today? After all, if it plays a draw, then its fate will not be completely in its hands and will depend on the games of other teams.
Since Germany has achieved a draw, it's getting very interesting now.
Germany needs to win against Costa Rica for sure as Germany is only at 1 point currently, Spain is at 4 points, Japan and Costa Rica at 3
For all the other teams, even a draw could be enough, depending on results.
Of course, Costa Rica will face a difficult task because it's Germany and Germany needs a win.

Spain can even afford to lose (if it's not a massive defeat and Germany doesn't score many goals against Costa Rica) because Spain has a much better goal difference.

I don't think Spain will want to get complacent just yet, and I'd expect them still go all out to secure a win vs Japan knowing that the job isn't done yet, but I believe that how the result of the final standings in Group F, between Morocco, Belgium and Croatia turn out might also affect Spain's approach to the game because they might try to avoid the toughest team from that Group, even if it requires them to pursue a draw or try to win the game.

I'm literally out of competition in the pool, I'm just putting in my picks out of the fact that I don't want to leave any fixture unpicked.
Too early to give up, there is still more than half of tournament games remaining. It's difficult, but few exact scores still can improve your situation significantly. And there is still chance to take yellow cap.

Yes! Thanks mate, I think I only drew that absurd conclusion because how terrible my picks have been, meanwhile I wasn't even checking the leaderboard and table in general to have know that everyone are also doing not so well in these fixtures, after getting 2 exact score, the first from Argentina and the other one was a courtesy of the 1-1 between Spain and Germany, I've moved up 25 places and I'm currently topping the leaderboard for the match day, if only I can get a couple more results go my way for the final four fixtures of the round, then I could end up with the Yellow Cap.

After watching so many 0:0 games, Spain - Germany was such joy to watch. High quality game with substitutions in both teams that changed game. I backed Spain, but draw isn't bad result for both teams. Despite that Germany have just 1 point now, they just have to beat Costa Rica in last round. Spain also control their own situation.

You're right bro. As expected, an extremely exciting match between Germany and Spain. With the 1-1 draw against Spain, Germany has every chance of making it into the last 16. The German team should be able to win the last group match against Costa Rica. And then it depends on Japan not winning against Spain. Otherwise it will be very difficult for the German team because of the poor goal difference.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow night with Brazil - Switzerland and Portugal - Uruguay. I am confident we will see two high-scoring matches.

That Costa Rica win goes against game logic, but it was typical game for Cost Rica. They made just 1 shot on target in 2 games, but it was enough for them to achieve win.
Belgium look so disappointing now. Seems that golden generation of Red Devils will end without significant achievements. They loss against Morocco was fully deserved.
Canada started game strong, but Croatia managed to respond and won game 4:1. Canada is already eliminated and Croatia will face Belgium in last round decisive game, should be interesting.

seems that Novermber is not the right time for WC, looking at top teams
How unexpected Smiley. But Spain - Germany game was exception from rule and I wanted that referee would add something like 10 minutes that it would continue longer.

so Belgium needs a win over Croatia to go through, and Croatia could pass through even with a draw
Morocco should have an easy pass over Canada, but Japan had same opportunity and blow it up

one more tonight, Spain and Germany, not sure what to expect, seems that Novermber is not the right time for WC, looking at top teams

It has nothing to do with November rather than these top teams not taking games that seriously and Germany most likely will go away since the group stages by the performance shown by them in this first half against Spain where Spain from what I saw made the most dangerous occasions and they hit also the post.If things go like that in the second half I think it will be difficult for Germany to even draw against Spain while Spain with a win kills two birds with one stone, they pass the group as the first place and also make sure one of the contenders is out of their way.

...//...it's the world cup, isn't it!?  It is the genuine idea of World Cup, that each team can beat their opponent regardless of the hierarchy of the other team.  I think that in every game we expect this type of feat.

This has been demonstrated today by Costa Rica and along those lines by Japan, KSA, Iran, Morocco, Canada?

I made last minute adjustments and put in my final score 1x2 (Can).   Smiley

Pool: ( CRC+ MOR) 6 points that would have given a significant advantage or a great comeback for any of the participants.

I was one of only 4 in the pool who predicted a draw in the Japan vs Costa Rica game.Would have been good to steal points for a draw there. Thanks a lot Costa Rica, 81st minute winner with their first shot on target in the competition so far Cheesy

No, real credit & congratulations to Costa Rica.

Theirs is one of the closest groups, Germany are in real trouble now though. If they lose to Spain later today then they will be knocked out in the group stage.

Too lazy to check, but if someone was so bold that he predicted the victory of Costa Rica, then I am ready to congratulate him. After 0-7 from Spain it was 200 IQ move  Grin

Germany are in deep trouble yeah. I’m not sure of the exact ramifications if they fail to win today but I know 100% that if they lose to Spain they are out.

I think Germany will win tonight or at least get a draw and I exclude a lost game for them.I think that Belgium lost game is more significant against Morocco and while Eden Hazard was busy to criticize Germany for doing political gestures rather than playing football his own team got a humiliating defeat right now. This clearly showed that Belgium team is ageing and this golden group shows no more signs of life,I don't know how many more years we will have to wait for such a group to be active again for a country like Belgium. They stand absolutely no chance against Croatia in the last group game so most probably they will be out of the World Cup during the group stages and won't go further.

Costarica is new Iran, rising to win after severe defeat in first round, and Japan is a joke
it is interesting now, Germany has a lot easier task to pass through, but Costarica can see next round with a win as well

now Belgium and Morocco, this can go to draw as well, as with Croatia, would skip Belgium for bets

Costa Rica is a sure thing that will not have a win next round as they are facing Germany and the fact that Germany was caught in a surprise by Japan in the last minutes of the game does not mean anything, now in tonight game Germany even with a draw will have high hopes to go through as Japan I doubt will get a good result against Spain so this group is a bit complex to predict but most likely Spain and Germany will go further.

Belgium I highly doubt would draw or lose against Morocco,we saw they are in the same performance as Tunisia so they are going to lose against Belgium.

This is not the result I was expecting to see from Japan after seeing the beating their opponents were given last time out. To be honest, I think this whole thing of favorite of the game is mearnt to brain wash us and induce us to pick the wrong teams, or is it karma for Japan after that upset over Germany and its been served back at them Huh

First game of the day and its a miss, had it not been for the $1000 bet wagered on Japan to win the worldcup or Spains 8nil win I would have never thought that Costa Rica would win any game...

Just saw pool has everyone back Japan and only 4 draws. Didn't even look at odds but guess Japan were huge favourites?

Messi goal was brilliant today, Mexico was tripling up on him and never giving him an inch, often making fouls while he is far from and then first time he had a little space, he scores. Second goal was really beautiful, Fernandez revitalized Argentina attack after coming on so I expect him to get a place in starting 11 for the final game. He earned it fir sure.

Was having dinner and trying to not be impolite to see a tv screen in a corner, but missed both goals. Definitely did see all the times they targeted him in first half, so for sure even managing to get space and score like that, GOAT material. Still feel if they didn't start with the penalty in first game, would have comfortably won. This team doesn't like to win easy.

Personally I got an exact score in this game and made the best points during this second round I only had 1 points now have 7.5 points only because of the games of yesterday, this shows that things can change around pretty dramatically in the standings in the pool.

Saw that I went 4-2 and not sure what was going through my mind at the time, knowing Mexico would play attrition, but it was a rushed Round 2 pick for me just entering everything on gut. Suppose getting all correct is still better than trying to be smart and play for the draws that threatened to derail MD2.

still, Argentina playing today, watching so far, they will not stay for long in Qatar, IMO
Really hard to judge how strong Argentina really is. Most likely, Argentina played safe in the first half against Mexico to avoid conceding a goal and for the second half they changed their tactics a little bit even if Messi's goal was somehow a surpsise, didn't see that coming but it's Messi, so we can even expect from him good tricks out of nowhere, especially when Mexico didn't attack him before scoring that goal, Messi had soo much space.
Still, it's also a clean sheet for Argentina and they are highly motivated again. We should also take into consideration Argentina's streak of 36 games without being defeated before.
Probably, the loss against Saudi Arabia was a necessary wake up call for them to take every competitor serious.

It looks like they are lacking real motivation, the goals were two individual skills from their players with Messi scoring a wonderful goal as the opener,I also think that Mexico had nothing to show so Argentina took it easy as I saw the game completely and Mexico did not hit once the goal except a free kick which was saved by Argentina goalkeeper, except that Mexico was a non existent team so this might be the reason Argentina did sweat it that much the win.

Personally I got an exact score in this game and made the best points during this second round I only had 1 points now have 7.5 points only because of the games of yesterday, this shows that things can change around pretty dramatically in the standings in the pool.
