Nobody expected England to score 6, not even their most trusted supporters, that is just not the way England plays big competitions. It all went their way today and they couldn't have asked for better start after all the disappointments in Nations League.
agree on this, I am in Footium group with mostly Brits in, and nobody predicted 6:2, from mere 200 entries, two 5:1 and all others more reasonable 3,4:0, with few going for draws
but this is on Iran as well, they are really bad, and USA would be a good test (Wales also seems lousy tonight)
so far, not being good at predictions, expecting more from underdogs, if they cannot show anything on first round, in different climate, they will just slide in other rounds, guessing most zero point squads in WC's lately this time
I actually thought I've over played my hand with going for predicting England 3-0 win, because Iran have been a highly defensive team in most competition even without scoring many goals themselves, they still usually managed to keep the damage minimal when they're on the losing side.
I had 3 close results so far, story of my life. Still, a decent start overall that puts me in 17th place.
No big surprises have happened so far, I don't expect any tomorrow as well. 4 games, will be a fun day.
I'm curious to see how Denmark will line up - I have them as one of the dark horses.
Just 1 close result for me and result in 4 games, I really never imagined I had Qatar to win over Ecuador, and I was very convinced I had it the other way round, until I checked the pool.
I don't think Denmark are one of the dark horses to be honest, I rate them quite highly, I think I'll have them finish ahead of France in their group, if the match between both of them will be the determining factor, I don't expect them to drop by any standard below what they displayed in the qualifiers.
Except they get Argentina in the next phase, I see them getting to the Quarter finals almost hassle-free.
