Damn, you are not only right. It could very likely be the outcome because PSG is a favorite in the lower bracket final. Fingers crossed that it won't happen Smiley

I guess its not happening. GG is the type of team that will give their best especially when the reward prize is quite huge so yeah Im pretty confident on that one that they'' get to the final ( but it wont matter for me because my #10 question isnt being counted )

Your total penalty is coming in two ways:
- 1 point deducted from total points in the league. I will deduct it in Round 3 but that is actually not that important since it doesn't show anyway in data we present to you except in total points column in league tables and penalty table. This part is same every round.
- 0 points in questions that started for round 3 by the time you posted. This week situation has been very negative for you since we had a lot of questions that were in play and you have 0 points on all off them. Can't check at the moment but I believe there were 4 or 5 of them.
-snip

Just to sum this all off, my -1 penalty on the 3rd round wont have any effect on my 4th round isnt it?

Well Im quite relieve that Im ending this round with only small amount of score differences otherwise I would have hard time to get all that back

From what I can see I currently lead 2-1 thanks to poor DireWolfM14 choices. I definitely didn't expect it to be so close considering I missed on basically half the questions.

Lol, no I wasn't kidding.  I've been doing horribly in these competitions.  I have about a 50/50 chance when answering most of the questions about soccer, specifically EPL, but most of the other stuff is rooted around sports with which I'm unfamiliar.

But, why don't you just keep rubbing it in, huh?  Tongue

All clear now, thanks for explanation.

They are already colored red in table for you so if you are still able to claim win then you were sort of lucky that you had opponent in very poor form in the week you started late.

@cryptfrka @Trofo (or anyone else for that matter)

Regarding that -1 penatly for being late, you gonna remove 1 point from my total amount of points from first 2 rounds, or you are referring to points from this round?

This part varies from round to round and is influenced by the time when you post and time when games are played. Usually people start with 0 on 2 or 3 questions if they are late for couple of minutes.

@DireWolfM14 Its gonna be very close, despite me being late and many answers not counting. I guess you weren't joking when you said that you are not counting any unhatched chickens.  Cheesy

I'm very happy for making a quite lucky start to this season. If I'm not wrong I made it to 3 wins in 3 matches because of being more successful than vd309 on the DOTA question. The next round is going to be a very challenging one against LTU_btc who I got a draw against last season. I hope I can maintain my winning streak by winning it. I'm feeling myself like low-budget teams which start the league well. Smiley

Kanapka has been integrated to Div 3A in place of wszocki. This was done in same way Bonta was included in Div 3B earlier.

Here is full schedule with all games updated to reflect these changes.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62398650

This change also affects bullrun2020bro and entebah. You guys lost your 3:0 wins against wszocki from round 1 & 2 and will play those games in rounds 12 & 13 against Kanapka. Lost is wrong word here since you actually lost nothing, is just like those games never happened. If we did not enlist Kanapka, every member of your league would have gotten those 3:0 wins sooner or later as well.

Great discussions on the bracket style of games versus European football style of knockout tournaments and I've done a lot of reading and discussions on both too, so I can agree with the arguments for both, but the idea is to get a mix of both.

Brackets and playoffs styles reduce the randomness and encourage stability. Hence in North American sports the strongest teams with the best talents consistently win the majority of non-league tournaments. But this reduces watchability for those outside the majority. Instead of being fair, I call this system objective. Fairness means putting every team on the same level, capping expenditure to revenue rather than an arbitrary sum, and giving everyone same facilities, etc.

Objective just means giving the best talents and performance the best chances for recognition.

Single KO killer bow styles increases randomness, and therefore, overall watchability.

I feel like leagues like Championship in England (and BSFL haha) mixes this very well with direct promotion, plus playoff. It has a very very long season, not too many playoffs. So 80% of the teams have something to play for all the way to the near end. So yes, if we know the winner of the league early, we still want to watch it because they are playoffs.

Then playoffs themselves are a spectacle at the end of season.

Personally I like Champs League style, I love that City can fall at any time despite being the best team in the world. Or Real. Or whomever. I can imagine the horror of upper/lower bracket format in Champions League if teams decide they can risk experimenting or even hurting the opponent in the first game (they might feel, it's okay to lose, they can beat the winner of the lower bracket easily), to ensure they have an easier final.

Relax dude, I still have a chance to get 2 points in this DOTA question. This can happen if PSG wins at lower bracket. And then in the final win over BetBoom.

Actually this kinda Bracket is makes so much more sense than classic one. If favorite teams ends up with same tree they can't play final together in classic one (like Real Madrid, City) But this way teams like Inter (No disrespectfull they played ok tbh but still they were no close to be any favorite team) would not get the final that easy. This way 'luck' factor minimize a little bit imo. Not that weird I see their point

When you put it like that, it makes sense. But it's uncommon in sport so it's weird seeing it.

After seeing this image, I definitely hate DOTA questions. I haven't seen this kind of schedule in any other sport where we have two brackets (ie. tennis). It doesn't make sense. And this definitely will make this week between me and mitchr4 a draw because I f*cked up my answer to the last question. At least I won't lose two weeks in a row Grin

BetBoom is already in the final and they will play the winner from PSG and GG. That screenshot you posted looks confusing I agree, this one is much better to explain it.

Usual format of DOTA competitions is that top teams after group stage go to upper bracket and teams below them go to lower bracket, while bottom teams go home. Then all the teams from upper bracket when they lose fall to lower bracket. While lower bracket teams when they lose go home. This means that top teams from group stages are allowed second chance and can lose one match in knockout stages. Seems strange but it is actually really good and more fair then what we have in football since one bad day will never get you out of competition.

Betting a couple of bucks on GG and LGD to win their respective game tonight as a support to my pick on our week 3 questionaire. I really feel that GG can manage to pull their self together on this tournament to achieve higher spot. I really think that they can beat BB on the semi finals since I'm assuming that LGD will still have a flawless run on the UB.

I was hoping Talon would eliminate Gamin Gladiators, at least that would give me my first edge in the H2H vs my opponent, but I don't know how to feel with your bet, Talon have been quite impressive later and I would have had my bet on them to win a map rather than ML on GG, Talon have won the first map, and I think any won who stream the fixture on twitch would definitely.

Gaimin Gladiator manage to reverse sweep Talon but LGD got defeated by BB which is the least expected on my side because I knew how flawless LGD play. I’m starting to think now that I overestimated LGD this time due to their good run on group stage.

BB is on different level since their tie breaker match against GG on group stage 2. I'm not expecting GG can beat LGD on the semi finals because LGD is still so good compared to current status of GG. I hope LGD can beat BB on the rematch finals to get atleast a point with the correct winner.

Did you watch the game between Bautista-Agut and Medvedev @Harkorede? I watched it for 20 minutes and when you mentioned the body language here, I think you know exactly what we are talking about... I have made bad experiences going with Medvedev in the past and this was again a game when he totally denied to keep playing sometimes, laughing all the time about his unforced errors and about Bautista-Agut points. It came to a point when I thought that it is disrespectful towards the audience who bought tickets to see him. He literally played at times like he would be playing a fun match against his little 5 year old in the garden. The whole body language, the gestures, that was ridiculous. You could see that he cares zero about Halle.
It is not about Halle it is about who Medvedev is and that is why I don't like him as a player. If you comb trough posts in tennis topic you will find that I mentioned several times in the past that he managed to lift his game high enough that he isn't getting pressured that often. But you will see that behavior emerge here and there throughout the season. That body language simply can't exit in top athlete behavior.

I agree that this is a character issue and then I check his stats and think, well if he has one of those good days he is probably going to win this game. Then I am angry at myself because he has again one of those weird body language games in which he should just withdraw and that's it. But still he has a 5-9 record against Djokovic and even won against him at the US Open and in 1000er ATP tournaments. How does he do that when simultaneously he can also play the worst of the worst and even look like a clown while playing shit?

As was said before here, Tsitsipas and Medvedev and I would even add Zverev to the list of players that are unpredictable.

I believe that is what sets Alcaraz and Ruud apart from this league, the hunger and passion is always there even when they're having a terrible day, they still manage to be there and show some great body language and will power, that's all sometimes we need as fans to keep supporting or stanning a specific athlete.

Can't believe my luck, I got too impatient and checked the spreadsheet and it seems that I am now leading Strongkored by 4-2, with both of us getting the tennis question wrong, we only have DOTA question left to grade, so it seems, I have won my second game in this new season. So crazy about tennis, but alcaraz for sure saved my butt like a lot of you guys lol

Kudos to those who predicted about Jamaica. After the Belgium question, this was the next where very few people picked the right answer. USA can't be trusted seriously!

So many red on the spreadsheet, yet you're able to score four goals in a round when most of us are lucky to earn one lol. I've never been this bad at my game; I was overconfident and threw in my answers early. I had a feeling you'd hit the ground running in the champoinship.

What is the status of the Tennis and Dota questions? I'm noticing a lot of confusion on the DOTA question; is the competition still going on? Which of the players advanced to the final? I predicted Gladiator to win the final, but I'm not sure whether they've already been knocked out.. sorry for being lazy

I see so many people many of whose choices turned out to be wrong in the end. The questions looked hard to me in the first place though.

I have a different perspective and all the questions seemed rather very easy at first glance imo, I probably would have taken a side bet of getting at least 6 correct answers after seeing the questions, that's why it was a bloodbath in the spreadsheet because we all had a similar idea on some instances. However, it's always easier said than done, as usual.

Congrats on your two consecutive wins, the tennis question being the most difficult one to predict especially Alcaraz getting to the final on grass it's quite amazing in my opinion and he has a chance to be a champion, and if he can do that it will be his first title in grass tournament, and as a warning to Djokovic as he will again face a big challenge from the Spaniard at Wimbledon later.

I was a little late to submit my answers for Round 3 but it is still lucky for me that my competitor did the same as well. Currently if I don't see it wrong I have finally got my first win in this season by a 1-0 score. The 5th question related to Euro U21 teams helped me win the matchup. I was indecisive between picking Gouiri to score or assist and any other outcome. Thankfully my pick was the correct choice in the end. It felt like this was the toughest round among the all rounds so far.

I see so many people many of whose choices turned out to be wrong in the end. The questions looked hard to me in the first place though.
