Moving up to light heavyweight was a win-win situation and I believed he should keep pursuing it to immortalize his legacy. There's no one at middleweight besides MAYBE Alex Pereira. Who's still unranked because he just got to the UFC. It will take years before he gets a title shot.
From a viewers point of view yes he should have moved to the Light Heavyweight division because we would have some insane fights in the future. Who knows even Adesanya vs Jones could have been a possibility. But from a fighter's personal point of view, he made an excellent decision to accept the loss and step down to the original division because this division was honestly too big for him.
TBH I'm not sure the division is too big for him; the fight was tight, but we're making it sound like he was knocked out like some armateur. I'd say the timing was off, but he still lost by decision.

Quote
Talking about sponsorships, stake has partnered with Ngannou as well and he's due to fight on 22nd Jan so it would be cool what kind of promo stake offers for the fight  Smiley
The stylebender lost his first stake sponsorship match I'm much confident that Nagonnou won't disappoint and yes I'm still waiting for the big promo as well before placing my bet.

Whittaker vs Adesanya - Rematch

This is a match I'm looking forward to as well because it won't be easy. Whittaker defeated Darren Till, Jared Cannonier, and Gastelum to earn a rematch for the championship, but I'm encouraged by some words from Adesanye and believe he'll defeat Whittaker the second time around, but it won't be easy.
Quote
I have a point to prove to myself, but just also to like, you know, those people, I just want to shut them the f*ck up. I mean the motivation for me is just that he’s not making excuses like (Marvin) Vettori or (Paulo) Costa.

“He’s accepted his loss. He finally admitted that I was in his head, and he was emotional, and I was like, ‘Yeah, you finally admitted what I was saying this whole f*cking time,’ so that makes me take him seriously. He’s accepted that, so that makes me take him seriously that OK, he’s got a point to prove, as well, and he’s been training. He’s motivated. That gets me up in the morning to shut him up again worse than the first time. That’s what gets me motivated

I remember they did a watch party kind of stuff with him at some event and they must have decent plans when he is actually fighting!

Israel Adesanya made the mistake of forcing himself up a division thinking he could continue his momentum and win a second belt, he would have defended the title a few times as he had more challengers coming up and instead he wanted to move up and that was a bad career move as some fighters might not have the same confidence after loosing a fight and even though i know he had his looses in Kickboxing the opponent is Marvin Vettori who had a tough fight when they fought the first time and it is not going to be an easy fight either.

How is that a mistake? He cleaned up the whole division and now needs to beat the contenders again.

he had more challengers coming up

Like who? Vettori? He already beat him and now again in an even more decisive fashion. Who's next after Vettori? Whittaker? Costa? Brunson? It's just a rematch after rematch over opponents he dominated. Moving up to light heavyweight was a win-win situation and I believed he should keep pursuing it to immortalize his legacy. There's no one at middleweight besides MAYBE Alex Pereira. Who's still unranked because he just got to the UFC. It will take years before he gets a title shot.

This thread may have spanned a couple of months now but the amount of support Israel receives is still flooding. Just goes to show how good of a decision Stake.com made in making him a brand ambassador for the MMA industry which for the most part is riddled with physical gambling casinos that act as sponsors for these promising talent. To be represented by The Last Stylebender himself, an almost undefeated fighter only losing to Blachowicz is a great boost in popularity and reputation of the cryptocurrency gambling industry. This thread is a solid proof of how much people love Israel which could then be transmuted to an equal, if not greater love for cryptocurrency/cryptocurrency gambling.
Israel does his analysis ( Cheesy) on the Conor McGregor fight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbSYLImgXbs

An interesting take on this when another fighter is giving their take on a big UFC draw like this one.

Almost forgot Poirier wore that weird darth vader looking breathing mask to the fight's aftershow in their second fight.

I did not know that Stylebender has a huge following on Youtube 234K subscribers, this is huge, I read in one article Dana urging fighters to become social influencers also so they can hype their career and their fights just like what these Youtubers turn boxers are doing, they are making a lot of money not because they are great fighters but because they have a huge fan base and these fans follow their new careers.
You'd be surprised by the number of Professional Athletes like Israel who started to create their own YouTube Channels either for fun or for an extra boost of income and popularity. Ryback, a popular WWE wrestler even has his ASMR Food channel where he eats stuff near mic which is weird but some people find it relaxing and soothing which is even weirder. Then again to each his own I guess. But I digress, as the internet grows and becomes embedded even more to the lives of the people, we'll see more athletes becoming content creators themselves if not influencers.

I love watching Israel Adesanya fight in octagon but UFC is desparate to find someone in middleweight division who can challenge him and they just signed Alex Pereira, man who nocked him out and won two times in kickboxing.

This was back in 2016 and 2017 and Adesanya is on a different level now, he improved his other skills not just kickboxing, and he will want revenge.
I am expecting this to be one of best fights ever in that division and as preparation you can watch their old kickboxing fights on youtube.
The first fight Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira went to decision and in the rematch Alex Pereira was able to knockout Israel Adesanya with a left hook and Israel Adesanya fought 80 fights in Kickboxing and he is really a high level striker and proved himself there and if they fight in MMA i am betting on Israel Adesanya because he has the experience in MMA and Alex Pereira never faced anyone challenging yet and it will take a long time for him to reach the ranks to fight Israel Adesanya.

So expect Israel to be scared when it actually happens in the coming months.
I don't think Adesanya will be scared because the guy has improved in heaps since the time he got knocked out. I mean yeah you're right that it's a challenge to fight the guy who has knocked you out previously but then it also adds energy and emotions into the fight.

More than anything, I am expecting a promotion from stake on his next fight Grin.

he's the only person to defeat him twice but it was over 4 years ago and much has changed and in a new ring. Grin
Exactly my point as well. And the most impressive part of his improvement is his mental stability. Costa tried and get into his head but ended up paying for it himself.

You got it right! The only one to knock out Adesanya is making an appearance in the UFC.

No, not for the primary one which was first offered for the money back if you bet on the champion title holder.
It is for the subsequential one they offered where you can win part of a prize pool and get signed gloves which was sent through a promotional email earlier in the week. That is the one where you need to bet on a few slots games to be eligible.
But you must also place a bet on Adesanya to win the match so you are eligible for the entire prize pool amount offered.
I have decided to not go for this promotion because I am betting on Vettori, even though I have been playing on their site for over two and a half years.
There is also a promotion for the 2 other main event fights of UFC 263 on Stake.
  • A risk free bet up to 50$ for a Nate Diaz victory against Leon Edwards.
  • A double winnings bonus up to 50$ if the fighter you've bet on win the fight before the final bell for Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno
Quote
Leon Edwards vs Nate Diaz
Earn a refund on Nate Diaz bets, up to $50, if Nate Diaz loses via any type of decision - the punters are giving Diaz no chance, can he outlast his opponent?

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno
Main Event Double Winnings returns - earn Double Winnings up to $50 if your selection ends the fight early!

Seen this promotion for money back on a loss. Then after seeing the maximum amount allowed to wager, thid wasn't enough for me to place a bet.
I am going for vettori. And at 3x on some other sportsbooks, I would rather go for him instead of taking this promotion on just a money back.
They do have other ones but they require you to be on a slots leaderboard of some kind, so thats too much and you mist bet on adesanya to win.
But anyways, here is the interview with both fighters before the match for their second time facing each other.
It gets nasty even being on a video call.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnQWtrO31WA
I don't seem to understand you. Are users required to be on a slots leaderboard for the refund? That aside, I watched that interview a few days ago and both Adesanya and vettori kept going for each other's neck. Judging from the intensity from interview, I can tell they'd give us a good show. I can't wait for the fight but my money is on Adesanya even without the money back promo, He would still be my pick. Adesanya is my countryman so I'm kinda bias since I'm also a fan. Btw, I wish you good luck on your bet on Vettori even though we're betting on opposite sides  Smiley

Hello guys, been a while. Our boy is having another fight soon at UFC 263 Main event coming up on June 13 against Marvin Vettori.  Adesanya hasn't had any fight since he lost to Jan Blachowicz in March. According to what I've read so far, it would be a 5-rounds affair in which Adesanya would actively participate to defend his middleweight championship title. This is the perfect opportunity for Adesanya to bounce back from that loss and get back to winning ways so I'm pretty excited.
By the way, Stake team is generous enough to offer a risk free bet on the last style-bender. You will get your stake returned back if Adesanya ends up losing which is unlikely but not impossible. It's a win-win offer, I just wish that the max stake would be increased from $50 to somewhere around $100 or more.
For anyone interested in the promo, see the promo page: https://promotions.stake.com/adesanya-vettori-2/
Hello 50$ is not the max stake you can bet to be eligible to the promotion, it's just the maximum amount that will be refund according to the conditions. So as I understand you can place a bet of 100$ if you want to bet this amount, but in case of a loss of Adesanya, you will "only" receive 50$ and it will be a half-loss bet.
BTW you forgot to name the 3 new Stake ambassadors Alexa Grasso, Marlon Vera and Francis Ngannou.

Yeah, I won't say it was a mistake but I'm glad it happened so Adesanya would take more better decisions about which fights to chase and which to avoid. He was in a good place being unbeaten and thought the day he would lose won't come regardless of the title he's competing for. Well, I have a strong opinion that Adesanya as he would see this fight as an opportunity to come back from his loss that's why I'll be betting up to the max for the promo being by stake. My money is on Adesanya to win.

Thanks for pointing that out. Regardless, I would like to be on the safe side so I'll stick with the maximum allowed in the terms for the promo. But it would still be a nice idea for anybody who thinks Adesanya would definitely win and go big on the bet. Adesanya lost last fight so there's a high probability that he would win the next one.

BTW you forgot to name the 3 new Stake ambassadors Alexa Grasso, Marlon Vera and Francis Ngannou.

Yeah, I tried to keep to Adesanya only since the thread was made when he was announced as a stake ambassador and prior to making that post, he was the main topic of discussion. So I wanted to keep it on topic.
