The match was won by USA 3-2. It looks like the USA has a better strategy than Brazil. They not only put quite a lot of pressure on Brazil in the first set but, the USA also managed to suppress Gabi and Rosamaria and made it very difficult for both players to score points for Brazil. I think the first set was the key for the USA to win this match because that victory made the Brazilian players start to lose their composure.

Even though this time I lost the bet but I will be rooting for Brazil again in the race for bronze. I think their opponent will be Turkey.

That would be in the Women's category Gold Medal match but right now Bronze medal Men's football match between Egypt and Morocco is in progress and within the first 30 mins of the match Morocco leads by goals. 2-0 is the score here in this match. Remember Morocco lost to the favorites Spain in the Semi-final match and here they are looking to win the Bronze model for their country. Egypt was defeat by France by 2 gaols in the semi-final.

Agreed. This is the difference between living in a country with democracy rather than a country like Russia which pure dictatorship. You don’t even have a say with 1 vote since anytime Putin can kill you due to his total control in military.

it's going to take a lot of time before Spain finally process the fact that they where trashed by Brazil in a disgraceful manner like that in a semi finals. From the way Brazil played and how they did almost everything the right way from pressing good attacks to defending in a quality way and then having a goal keeper that was a sure hindernace to all the threat that Spain posed,  it was indeed a deserved victory that will draw a lot of attention to what they will be able to play out in the finals.

it's only those that didn't watch the US team at this Olympics that will underate them. US is very good and normally what I imagined is a case where they will face Spain in the finals but after the performance Brazil displayed at the semi finals, anyone that wants to choose US to win in this finals should do so with caution because it's going to be a fierce battle and the most certain prediction will be that both teams will score in the first and second half.

Bullshit. How can you attribute the fact that Russian athletes cannot compete under their own flag to Putin? They have only one vote, they have no power to change the government. Brazilian women football has developed very rapidly at the moment, even when their men team was unable to do much at paris Olympics , at least the women team can still save Brazil pride, which has been a country synonymous with producing great talent in football, previously the Brazilian national team failed in the Copa America as well as their men team who failed to qualify for the Olympics so this implies a significant decline in the development of Brazilian men football at this time.
The performance of Brazilian football  women in the last few matches has actually fluctuated and they are even struggling to qualify from the group phase, even when they faced France in the quarter final yesterday they had to wait until the 82nd minute to ensure their victory.

In the final match, of course, the interesting match between America and Brazil will have a lot of intensity to the game, especially so far the American women's team is a very perfect team without losing until they reach the final, but  If you look at the strength and performance of the two teams at the moment, I think America will win in the final match as well as adding to their current gold medal haul.

US are in the Semi finals Basketball and would be very surprised if they lose that against Serbia

China are in the final A of the Womens 500m canoe sprint

China and the US are also in the finals of the Mens 3M springboard

China in the finals of the Mens Table Tennis and in the Womens Semi final

Its not going to be enough given the high probability that the US will medals in the Atheletics.

It would be fair if that genetic disorder work both way. We see man-like women participate in women disciplines, but we dont see any women that go and compete against men in a discipline where physical attributes matters if not more, but on the same level as skill.

You have pointed that Imane Khelif has 9 losses. Dont look on he losses on the beginning of her career, it was just a start. Dont look on the losses that were against opponents that has huge difference in win/lose record, as judges might give them loss only because they are more experienced. And we will have that opponents beat Imane Khelif only 2-3 times. And since you have mentioned boxrec, Imane Khelif has 4 NC due to failing hormone and blood tests.

Honestly it is hard to comment on Imane Khelif. A boxer that is way stronger than women, but way weaker than men. Respect to Imane Khelif for choosing a professional athlete path, as it is much complicated than office white collar work. But like I've said, special athletes better compete against special athletes to make it fair.

Otherwise on next Olympic games we will have chicks like this:

Gabby Thomas if I'm not mistaken, has been the fastest women before finals in the 200 m, so I'm not surprised by her and Alfred getting the silver. I think it's just rewarding to see Thomas winning here and there are statistics that she started very slow, but and then Alfred trying to make some grounds but since this is Thomas specially, it's going hard to defeat there.


Unfortunately, they've lost another boxer and so they settled for 2 golds and 2 bronzes (for their boxers). So still they are the top Sea countries in the medal standings but you can see that all Sea countries are supporters of their neighbors are per their tweets and it's good to see that amongst Sea nations.

It is an excellent medal and fully reflects the work done by the nations I am amazed at Germany who has a very low medal while instead it is a pity that only for a handful of medals could Italy be third in this scoreboard while for the United States and China There is no game are too strong, surely a pity that there is no Russia that surely could be a worthy antagonist for the others for the primacy, the sport should instead combine even in this case it did not go there

It seems like the Brazil women's football team has learned a lot from their previous mistakes, where at that time they lost badly to Spain due to the red card they received. What I saw was that they played very different strategies, it was a gamble but the change turned out to be very effective. Brazil no longer prefers to play defensive football, even they tend to be very offensive in those matches, and their effort greatly inconvenienced Spain.

Brazil will face the USA in the final and it's going to be another tough fight. But for some reason I felt that Brazil would be the one to win the final.

Yes, in their first match, USA just stomping their class on the Serbian team and you can see that Jokic is somewhat very upset on that game because they can't get things going. But it might be very close here, it's already the semi finals and the Serbian team will have to put everything on the line here.

One good adjustment done by the French coach is that he didn't put Wemby or Gobert side by side in their last game against Canada. But not sure if that will work against a solid team like Germany. They have build their chemistry already, although we like the French team having the home court advantage here. But in the end, I'm seeing team Germany might win here as they are the favorite.

It's probably going to be just a replay of the first time they faced each other during the opening days of the Olympics. If I remember it correctly the US team dominated that game, finishing it with a lead of almost 30 points. Although Jokic's squad was strong, they simply can't defeat the avengers team of the USA. The US team is made up of all star players that could defeat any team in the world.

As to France and Germany, although it seems Germany is stronger, France can pull an upset. They've got a nice and solid lineup. Wemby is there. Gobert is there. They can fight toe to toe against Germany.

I do agree that USA will dominate Serbia again, team USA really sent one of the best team and we can compare them to the original dream team. Maybe we can see how great Jokic again, perhaps posting triple double numbers, but it will not be enough to beat USA.

As for France vs Germany, this is going to be a great match, France obviously has the homecourt advantage, but Germany is also doing great as a team winning the FIBA. I think France will have to make a lot of adjustments here in order to upset the Germans.

Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-ting are cisgender women and do not compete in the same category. Imane competes in the under-66kg category, while Lin fights in women's under-57kg boxing. Imane reached the final on Tuesday, and the Taiwanese guaranteed a place in the final this Wednesday.

In a decision by the International Boxing Association (IBA), both had been disqualified from the Women's World Championship last year, for not meeting eligibility criteria. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) argued that the fighters meet the requirements, as well as applicable medical regulations. Even Mark Adams, the IOC's official spokesman, stressed at a recent press conference that this was not a transgender case.

Anyway, the subject is controversial. Many will defend it, many will oppose it... I prefer to refrain from giving an opinion on this.

I don't think USA will have a hard time against Serbia, in fact I don't think there is a team that can challenge them in these Olympics.

I can't say anything about France vs Germany because I think both teams are playing on an equal level, may the better team win.
