tennis at the Olympics has always made us laugh and let's face it it doesn't count for anything it's just to say I won the Olympics, there are other tournaments that count and it's certainly not that, just look at the best ones not even taking part, having said that Nadal was already cooked before that the match began so yes I was also happy that he came out and that Novak meets a stronger player

How do you say that tennis is not considered important in the Olympics? I agree that you cannot compare this to Wimbledon and any other grand slams but this does not mean that it is not important for the tennis player. A gold medal in the tennis Olympics always matter.

The match between Nadal and Djokovic was easily won by Djokovic. (6-1 and 6-4). I think the era for Nadal is over and it is not that he has lost his form but it is the age factor which becomes a drawback when he is facing opponents.

Two veterans met at the Olympic Games (they are now considered veterans in my eyes due to their age)
Novak defeated his rival Nadal 2-0 and continued on his way to the Olympic games.
Rafael could not show his presence in the first set and the first set ended 6-1. Although he showed a little more resistance in the second set, he lost this set 6-4 and bid farewell to the games.
Nadal may now have to quit tennis gradually. Because it seems very difficult for young people to resist.
If I am not mistaken Nadal has already stated that he will retire soon, as it is clear that even if the mindset of a winner is still there and he may still want to play, his body does not respond as it used to do so and it shows.

So in a way I am happy that it was Djokovic the one that eliminated him at the end, as it would have been sad to see Nadal being eliminated from the olympic games by a lesser player than him.

Injuries affected Nadal very much and when he came back after serious injuries, Hüyük achieved success.
Now his body has aged and he does not have the same performance as before.
Tennis is not an easy sport on an individual level. Sometimes the match lasts 4-5 hours and it is not easy at all as you get older.
He made his name written in golden letters in the tennis world and that too has come to an end.

Turkish Women's Volleyball team defeated the Netherlands 3-2 yesterday and won their first match in the group.
They came from 2-0 down to win the match 3-2, I thought they would win more easily.
What makes you think so? IIRC on the world ranking they differs by 2 place, though I'm not sure if the team playing on the Olympics are the same as their usual national line-up or not[1]. According to the stats USA lost position recently so they're quite close if you look at the position on the ranking, granted their points difference are bigger. I guess performance of the day matters for those initial sets, while mental strength carries you when things get rough.

Djokovic absolutely decimated Nadal on this turf which was expected, but Nadal can still claim another Olympic gold with Alcaraz. Excited!

I think that such athletes, that already have achieved almost everything in sports and already earned millions, dont give everything during the game and dont even kill themselves preparing for Olympic games. Even if they win the game or Olympic medal, they already have a box full of medals, cups. And Olympic event dont give them any record points or large money reward from government. They go to Olympics more to hang out, to be in the movement with others, than to show their maximum.

For me today most epic moment was in MTB bike race, where Tom Pidcock won, despite that he had to change wheel during race. That change looked almost like in F1, it took just maybe 15 seconds. Though, he took 1st place in not very clean way as he colided with his French opponent. He got booed by local supporters after finish.

In first set it looked that result can be humiliating, but at least Rafa gave some good fight in 2nd set. Not really sure how far in doubles with Alcaraz, but it's very interesting to watch them playing together.

In archery, France reached the final. We lost our chance for the final because of Mete Gazoz's poor performance. We had a chance to medal as a team for the first time in our history, we still have a chance, but only for the bronze medal. Abdullah and Ulaş are shooting well but Mete is not on his game today. I hope we will complete the team archery by getting at least a bronze medal.

I don't think today was Mete Gazoz day. His normal performance is much higher, but today he seemed a little too excited. Maybe that's why we couldn't become champions. Actually, my expectations were very high, and we enjoyed watching it very much as it has become a very popular sport in recent years.
It would have been great if we could have won the gold medal Smiley

The only good part about the opening ceremony was the Parade Of Nations through the Seine river on boats. Apart from that the French authorities tried to push as much as political correctness and woke behavior down the throats of the audience as possible. Christians are offended after they distorted the last supper with a performance by LGBT people. I have watched Olympics opening ceremonies from several events in the past and this was the first time it got to such a gross and diabolique display.

Yes, it was terrible (by the way, that guy in the black suit and black shorts/underpants was flashing his genitals to the whole world! What kind of nonsense is that?), I wonder what percentage of French people (not by nationality, but by behavior model) were represented here? It seems to me not very large, since despite all the decline of culture, not everyone in France is a freak.
The question arises: can some new inhabitants (with a barbaric background) of France be blamed for not integrating into society, etc.? I would not want to integrate into such a society either.
This is by far the worst Olympics ever. It is as if the organizers wanted the Olympics to be a controversial one. Artistic or not, the ceremony was a perverted display. Don’t they know that children watch the Olympics. BTW I read YouTube removed the video as a lot of people found it offensive.

There are betters ways to represent the culture of a people without profanity. The London 2012 Olympics has one of the best opening ceremonies in its history. It was memorable for me and I loved it when they did the James Bond scene with the Queen. It was a clean and beautiful ceremony that set everyone up for a great Olympics. And that’s how the Olympics should be.

I hope we will complete the team archery by getting at least a bronze medal.
Forget bronze because they nailed a silver by barely beating Turkey and losing pretty comfortably against the South Koreans who are in a league of their own by winning consecutive golds in different Olympic events.

Dude I'm speaking for Türkiye, why are you responding as if I am French? Türkiye won the bronze medal by beating China. France lost to Korea in the final and got the silver medal. The Koreans deservedly won the gold medal. Team archery is one of the most enjoyable sports to watch. Türkiye won a medal as a team for the first time in their history.

Brazil's next match in women's soccer is against Spain, with 5.40 odds for a Brazil win
It's going to be very difficult for Brazil to qualify

Hope you're not planning on betting on Brazil against Spain in women football? Spain are the best women side currently the best side in women football. Spain, France, England, Germany, USA are the top 5 teams in women football. Brazil used to be good but not anymore. I don't see them winning against Spain. I don't even think Brazil will put up as much fight as Nigeria did.

For the Olympics I think I'm going to focus on Basketball. Basketball is relatively easier to predict than football. Aside the upset of Nigeria pulled against Australia, I don't think there have been any major shock so far.

I haven't made any bet on any Olympics games. I prefer the entertainment that comes from watching the games. My favourite games are the track and field event and swimming. The football matches are not as interesting as championships that are exclusively for football games.
exactly! What catches my interest in the ongoing Olympic game is the swimming and track competitions. I don't know why soccer becomes a little bit boring at this point? Maybe because we've got other alternatives sports? [I don't like ice hockey either]

In other news, we (Croatia) got our first medal in Paris. Its bronze and in the air rifle, 10m. Grin
You're Croatian? Good to know that as well... Congratulations on your first medal. I'm not really following the Olympics this time around and I feel very empty. However, that's what you get when you're responsible for almost everything that happens around you.

Djokovic managed to pass the legendary racket player Nadal without any difficulty. Djokovic really played two great sets. Turkey was able to win the bronze medal in archery under the leadership of Mete Gazoz in the third place, I think it may be the first medal Türkiye won in the France Olympics. South Korea won the gold medal, they got 10 points in a row in the final games, the South Korean athletes shot very accurate shots as a team.

And to imagine that this is not the performance to expect from the USA team is what is scary
To be honest, I don't think that USA can play much better than what they showed vs Serbia, if better at all. You could see that they really wanted to show the world that they are the favorities, and especially against current MVP Jokic.

Keep in mind that while Jokic was on the floor, Serbia looked pretty good and it only made the real difference when he was on the bench. USA is still by far the main favorite but it will be interesting to see what will happen if they get a bad shooting day. I know that chances are low, but I still hope that someone can upset them.

The best thing is to stay away from team sports that have their own major championships when playing at the Olympics, it's just not the same and the ods are reflecting more the usual team form ignoring most don't care that much about it or are already at the end of a long season and tired or injured as hell.
Go for individual sports where you have already seen the qualifying, in most of them surprises are lower than others for the returns they carry.

That was a best opening ceremony ever.

It was garbage and that's it, they tried to make a pile of everything and they fucked up so bad they even went in and deleted the whole thing themsleces and apologized for it. It was nothing artificial it was made just to shock like a cheap amateur onlyfans movie.

I have been having similar experiences and it making me feel like betting on the Olympics is literally a difficult way of gambling as I have no been lucky enough, i have not been able to win on a single bet win the Olympics did kicked off and I bet on their games. I will keep trying maybe I will get lucky before the Olympics comes to an end.
