Asking questions before investing is prudent.
Ask the right people though, that would be KNC not random internet strangers.

None of us know any secret info....the best thing you could do to get those questions answered is to email them or pick up the phone.
All the info we have has been discussed here ad nauseum.

If you aren't comfortable don't invest, it's really that simple.
If you invested already and you are now shitting your pants, keep it to yourself or ask for a refund.

We don't give a care if you disagree that KNC hardware is worth investing in.
We don't care if you are second guessing your purchase, we aren't here to hold your hand.

Fuck these kids have a lot to learn about business...and acting like grown ups.
I can't imagine what it will be like here by the end of September.

Did you already sign up in knc's forum, if so why? Is there a good reason to do so?
Is someone else wondering for what reason they have a need for your date of birth ?

There's a few knc devs on there so it's good to ask them a few questions. I made a thread there asking for a preview of the management website/etc and one of the knc guys uploaded a photo of him working on it.

You can also see the PCB there in the photo.

Just remember that not everyone uses bitcointalk.org forums. So for those people, they now have a place to hang out and discuss etc.

Birthday is pretty standard for pretty much any forum software. Even bitcointalk.org's. If you don't feel comfortable giving out your birthday then don't. Personally I didn't.

But what are you wondering about anyway? That they could be mining your details and stealing identity? lol Roll Eyes

timmers I love your optimistic attitude 'will all be over soon', but there's still up to 3 weeks to go until day one production takes place (remember day1+2 September, rest October - implies day1 is Friday 27th).
I expect for the next time nothing else than 'they are scam!', 'where are the chips?!', as well as this 'fanboy' thing filling up the pages >#500.

So to put this back on any track at all:

I myself, like others too, have had the experience of asking legitimate questions and immediately being condescended to and now name called by the regulars in this thread (i.e. pussies, bitches) hence the fan club moniker. Civility is a two way street. I hope KnC delivers on time and as promised as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to blindly let them hold thousands of dollars of my money and not ask a probing question here or there.

The point is that a lot of people are like a 5 year old kid constantly asking "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? " ..but asking us on here who haven't been given secret information ..so they would be better asking KnC, especially given the fact that KnC reply to customers and answer the phone.

Most of the trolls just harp on about rigs never making money and not being delivered as promised...something which they can never know and which is pure and deliberate negativity, and pointless.

A guy who went so far out of his way to check the company out and reporting here what he saw gets branded a fanboy?
Couldn't make it up.

Thank god this will all be over soon and we'll have some pics of hashing rigs and joyful unboxing to replace cheer us (well nearly all) up Smiley .

You make an important decision to invest your money, you lay that money down and you take a chance.
Real men don't spend the next 5 months acting like little bitches, crying and whining and second guessing themselves.

Stand up for your decision and wait patiently and quietly like the rest of the big boys.

If you want to be a pussy like Kuroth, ask for a refund and you will get it immediately...there is literally zero risk.

TL;DR? Man up and stop whining, your father probably should have slapped you more for acting like a whining little bitch when you were a child.
Totaly agree.
Maybe it's not to late, my guess is that most are still kids. The industrie has it's roots in teens with videocards.

Also why would KNC not announce the foundry they are working with as it would give everyone a lot more transparency and make it easier to compare vs their competitors? Both Hashfast and Cointerra seem to have announced the fabs they are or will be using?

Hi all

New around here so please don't bash me if the info I'm looking for is already here but did KNC ever formally announce which foundry they are working with to produce their chip? Ie do we know if they are working with a reliable fab who are able to deliver working chips on time?

Thanks and apologies if the info is already out there but these threads are simply too long....

It's 28 nm. All of the foundries they could have used are competent, but none are reliable.

???????? Can you explain? Surely if they went with one of the big boys like TSMC, they should be reliable? Also why would KNC not announce the foundry they are working with as it would give everyone a lot more transparency and make it easier to compare vs their competitors? And why [...] would you expect to see either a working prototype or a revealed chip. None of us who've actually read every communication from KNC to the public and every page of this thread expect that.

Because (IMO) it would be absolutely RETARDED to fab a chip, make thousands of them and populate a bunch of PCBs without actually testing a prototype at some point. Further, posting such a thing COMPLETELY validates what KnC is trying to do.

I understand your optimism, but let's not be too naive, shall we?

The best outsider guess I have seen for chip arrival date places it somewhere between September 10th and September 15th.  I suspect we'll see a picture of one once they arrive.

anyone know why they need my wallet address if I will be providing the guild, username and password? Is it for the solo miners??

I didn't provide the wallet address, should I?? KNC??
May be for several reasons:
First and most likely, imagine the pool that the evidence provided by you for this operation at this time out of order or login fails. Satoshis will have to send to any wallet.
Second eligius worker in your wallet.
