How do you keep your neppy so cool in DC/DC temperature?

Mine is running around 80-90 degree C, and I have similar hashrate:

That's a DIY-project..  see my photo's in this thread (post 1133 - 1135):

I have updated to firmware revision neptune-1.00

Still haven't got my rig hashing properly yet, but I've noticed that the Advanced Tuning tab doesn't work any more.  I just get "Loading configuration, please wait..."

Are there any workarounds for this?

Also, I see messages in cgminer that I didn't see under the rc8 firmware: "timeout" and "Communication error".

after fw 1.00 update, the advanced page takes longer time to load. you can leave the page for a while, and then it is shown (at least I wait and finally see the info Smiley

Try the usual things: hard restart and use F5-key in browser.

The error's are less if you don't use the Browser (status pages gives them when hitting F5, and advanced-page gives them if it is in front).
If you run with only cgminer, then errors are from not working cores (tuning Voltage for these specific cores helps).  After tuning I have about 50 cores (of the 7200) not working 100%, which gives a 3.575 Ths miner (see screenshot below):

or you can remove the elec current limit with corsair-link software.

That you can, but it resets every time you power up so it's a pain for multi PSU. Also the Corsair Link has a MB USB connector to you will need an adapter or an open PC to hook it up. You can set each virtual rail to 40A which is more than enough for 500Mhz Neptune.

If you scroll up there are a number of cables available which allow you to connect each cube to two virtual rails thus doubling the default 20A setting.

Frankly the PSU is excellent and KfC screwed up their design using a single PCI-e; a PSU should shut down if you try to pull upwards of 20A over a PCI-e cable! I will sleep easier knowing there is some level of 12v over current protection for my Neppy.

true! my 850w PSU does not shut down, but the PCI-e cables become very hot (especially near the PSU connector). I am worried that such huge current will make the cable/connector melted.

I just come across an idea: many graphic cards have a 6pin-to-double-molex cable.

If we have two molex cable connecting to the PSU, and then connect to this cable, will it solve the problem?

This made me laugh http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/2ac4mr/reminds_me_of_mining_hardware_vendors/

If you change the word "cake" for "hashing", you understand KNC a little better Cheesy

Alright, I have finished a process for making a heavy duty 2:1 PCIe adapter for Neptune owners.  It is made with 16AWG wires and minifit HCS (high current system) pins capable of 13A.  It is tricky to make with crimping two 16 gauge wires together but I soldered the pins to the wires after crimping for best contact.  I cannot guarantee that the nylon housings at the pcb won't melt so be sure there is some airflow there.

Here she is:

Pricing is $8 each with discounts for larger orders.  Shipping will be priority mail with tracking which is $6 for US and $24 for international.
Please PM if you are interested.  Thanks
Thanks Cablez for a great product!

I purchased 10 of these from Cablez, they look exactly as the picture above. Professional product, very well packaged. Promptly made and delivered all the way to New Zealand.

I paid Cablez directly in BTC, and he manufactured and posted the cables to me. These allow me to use my 2xCorsair AX1200i PSUs without tripping the 20A limit per PCIe cable.

nice, i had no idea psu's had pfcc's

Among other things...

@ xstr8guy - its all he has in the world, we should be consoling him really but when the pitiful try to use our kindness against us we have little choice but to treat them as 'equals'

@s1gs3gv - strangely they failed to answer my questions & subsequently pulled the 'VB' & 'VB mini' from the site...

perhaps its temporary or perhaps some big fish just bought them all...

@ searing - omg, u got a 'sigh'tan on order?Huh who knew??

Clueless!
Now that GAW have upgraded all VaultBreakers to 750mhs and are offering batch 2 VB for $6999 I wonder what kind of competitive response we will see from KNC ?

https://hashtrader.com/t/vault-breaker-update/2388

er nothing...no refunds....eat it ...(by that point in time say 3rd batch Titans they will be announcing their 3 Titan PH Farms anyway lol)

Does anyone know
If stock November Jupiter is 1 watt per gh
Or 1.3 watt per gh

At wall?
1.3 ... or more if you use the Padrino firmware. I just shut down my last Nov Jupiter 5 minutes ago.

Underclock/undervolt and keep it running.

I tuned my Neptupiter/Juptunes (see what I did there? Lol) down and they get under 1w/GHs.

Buy new psu corsair 1200 with Neptune is awful
You were asked if your PSU was an "i" series.
The fastest, ZERO cost, solution may depend on that detail.

If your PSU is 1200i search this thread for that number and look thru results of last week or so.
Or
Go to the Corsair website and look for "i" series software for PC and just try it.

This might be a link to the correct SW

http://softwaredownloads.corsair.com/Files/Corsair-Link/Corsair-Link-Installer-RC-v2_6_5214.zip

I did not try it, no "i" PSU here.

There is a way to make the "i" series work that was posted recently .

YMMV

I think the plain AX1200's were discontinued quite some time ago. You can still find old stock once in awhile.

my neppy was at 3.4T when using rc9, and now with new FW 1.0 it is 3.6T stable. so 5% increase is reached. at the expense, the highest DC/DC is now at 95 degree C instead of 91 degree.

Here's something that won't help haters and trolls : Firmware 1.00 for Neptunes
5-10% speed improvement. We'll see on long term.

Nice.. applied. The link above is for the bin, here's a link to the news release with changes:
https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-97

Update: Running new FW for about 12 hours now. 2-3% increase in hash rate. Definitely not seeing 5-10%, wish I was!

if we do not have any Substantial Concrete news by this month end .. to proof they are taking action practically and not just talk and talk..and talk ..this project of theirs may not materialize at all and maybe the op could just closed this thread and not waste our time and hope on them. How on earth they are going to succeed if they only work 8 hours a day and 5 days a week? while the competitor overseas is working 24 hours a day by shifts and 7 days a week. To them maybe speed and timing  is not reverent. Wow, thing of it maybe I should move to Sweden..   Smiley
