LOL.. devastating for the Australia fans. Look at the margin of victory for England. Do you guys still believe that Australia still stands a chance in the Ashes series? Their golden age is well past them. None of the current Australian players (including Warner, Smith, Cummins and Starc) are performing consistently. What they need right now is a complete overhaul of the squad. They need to drop players who are performing poorly, and need to include those who are in good form in Sheffied Shield and the other domestic tournaments.
Forget about Australia, what we are looking at is the golden age of the English team, their team is so good and not to forget they don't have Ben Stokes who was the hero of the 2019 world cup win, even without him the side looks full of stars, the way Buttler batted against the Starc, Hazlewood, and Cummins, it was a treat to watch, especially the sixes against Starc and Zampa, almost all the sixes were above 90m mark. Also their bowling department looks so good with Jordan back in form, I don't know what sort of bowler is Jordan, if it's his day you will see him bowling so good yorkers and on other days he is conceding 20+ runs in each over especially while playing for Punjab in IPL.  Grin

Pakistan and England are the two teams which are dominating this tournament. Also it look like that Pakistan and England will finish up on top of their groups and hence will not meet in the semi final stage of the tournament.
Many people are predicting Pakistan Vs England Final and if you want to know the winner of this match, you need to see the 1992 WC final between these two teams.  Wink
Got to agree with you on it, both the teams have looked really good but I would say England is slightly better if we compare both on paper because if you see matches of both the teams all three matches of England so far were absolutely one-sided affairs, while matches of Pakistan, only the match with India was completely one-sided rest two went close especially the one with New Zealand.

But one thing I would like to bring in here from history is that a team that has won all their matches in group stages/ Knockouts has never lifted that World Cup. So far all throughout the t20 world cups, this has been true. Moreover, things become quite different once you enter knockouts, If I am betting obviously an intelligent bet would be on England or Pakistan but I think it's way too early to say this.

Unless the bowling is too weak, the best decision to do after winning the toss in T20 is to send in the opposition to bat. And in the United Arab Emirates, dew factor is a big issue and it impacts the team that bowls second. Anyway, all these things will be crucial for matches between evenly matched teams. But for one-sided matches, such as the one we had yesterday between England and Australia, the toss would have hardly made any difference. Today we have the India vs New Zealand match. Let's see how the toss impacts the results.

I don't agree with this dew factor phenomena. If you see stats of match between Pak n Afghan then one can clearly see that Afghanistan despite batting first were in complete control of the match when Pakistan comes to bat. Thanks to sixes of Asif Ali in 18th over, Pakistan managed to win. Putting blame on dew factor is like hiding your weakness.

The control of the match was with Afghanistan because their collection was quite good. The 147-run target may not be too high, but it is enough. We must not forget that Afghanistan's bowling lineup is very good. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan were very good bowlers, besides Mujib ur Rahman bowled well, so the match was under the control of Afghanistan. And if Pakistan's first wicket pair could not bat well, they still went a little backfoot. Their batting becomes a bit slow.

Aussies were never interested in T20 cups there focus was always Test n ODI. Seeing yesterday match, I don't think they are interested this time either in T20 WC

Am I the only one who thinks like this, the team that bats first is always losing this time in the T20 Worldcup. Yesterday's match between England and Australia. The Australian side was struggling to bat, English bowlers were good but I never thought that AUS will only score 125 runs. It was a completely one-sided match. I did not enjoy a bit of it.

Before the start of the World Cup, I have heard many cricket experts say that a team batting later on a pitch will benefit more. And that's what's happening. The teams batting later are winning. Maybe luck is helping or the pitch is helping them. However, the teams batting first have not been able to give a big target yet. We expect big scores from teams like India and England.

My bet would be still on England. Pakistan is the most inconsistent team as far as international cricket is concerned, and they always fail at crucial stages in ICC tournaments. Pakistan fans should feel happy about the form of their country so far, as they are likely to win all of their super-12 matches (the remaining matches are against two of the weakest teams). But the real test will come during the knockout stage. Now with Pakistan almost guaranteed of a spot in the knockouts, just two matches stand between Pakistan and the trophy.

Pakistan has a real chance to be in the final and even win the tournament, they are fielding really well and it is surprising that they improved drastically in this aspect and taking all the catches and as long as they can continue to do so they will win every match. They have the batting line and the bowlers to defeat any team, so the advantage is for Pakistan even if they face England in the final.

It was Asif Ali 4 sixes in one over that turned the table for Pakistan. His performance was match winning too against NZ, scored 27 runs on 12 balls but his performance was overlooked because of Harris Rauf bowling and Shoaib Malik batting. A good hitter at no 6/7.
I have not seen his performance before the World Cup, but he is a great talent for them and he is a power player who could change the match with his impressive striking and his consecutive performance against New Zealand and Afghanistan stand out from the rest.

~
England has made it by 12th over. So marvelous. A good game from England. Chris Jordan was awesome taking 3 wickets and giving out just 14 runs out of 4 overs. Though Mills have given 45 runs, he has taken 2 wickets and Woakes has taken 2 wickets giving out only 23 runs. These three were the key players to bring down Australia score below 130. Joe Buttler was on fire scoring 71* from just 32 balls, 5 4s 5 6s at 221 strike rate. Vow.
Australia disappointed big time and i thought it would be a competitive match but England dominated the match and the next match for England is against Sri Lanka and that is another easy win for England but the odds are not that great.

England needs only 29 runs from 66 balls to win. Looking at the previous match in Australia, I thought David Warner and Finch are back in form. Now Australia's performance will improve again. But I was wrong. Australia again showed poor performance in today's match. They lost all their wickets for only 125 runs. The performance of the bowlers is also weak.

There is no doubt that Pakistan has found a few very good batsmen at different positions, as well as a definite contender to make it to the final. We never imagined this Pakistani team would perform so flawlessly in all three areas and everyone would play their roles perfectly. The captain led the team perfectly. This is Babar Azam's Pakistan at its best. They are a solid unit and should win the World Cup in T20!

Bravo! Let's compare 40 over match with the 2200 over series  Grin

Everyone knows that England is not dummy in the white ball cricket, they have top notch talent in the limited over cricket but you can't say the same thing about their batters in the test format.

australia on the other hand doing pretty bad against england. They have been bowled out for 125 in 20 overs which is a very low score specially against a team like england. I see an easy win for england in this match.
Like all other previous matches on Dubai DSC, the batting first side continues their struggling. I guess toss alone going to play the deciding role one more time in this big tournament. Honestly this Dubai pitch is seeming like not at all fit for hosting a T20 match especially for a big tournament like T20 worldcup.

I was unable to predict a winner for this match hence I have not placed any bet (same for today's first match as well). Still, I guess we can enjoy a thriller if Starc and co make any big impact within powerplay overs.
In most matches toss is playing a big role in the winning. As said, Dubai pitch doesn't look to be a proper choice for such big tournament. Most of the time special tournaments were conducted in Dubai and other grounds of United Arab Emirates just to get the support from common people of Asian countries. Also Dubai serves as a centre location for rest of the nation. This seems to be the prime reason than thinking of the pitch condition.

Yes agree with you on this, these dubai pitches are not fit for hosting the t20 world cup, and winning the toss is playing a huge huge role already in the matches that we have seen and specially in matches played at night, this due factor comes and it make it a lot more easier for the chasing team. Well we have to see weather this trend changes or not in the upcoming matches.

That is a big win for South Africa. The last over was really big for South Africa. David Miller scored at the right moment, because leaving a single ball decrease the winning chance. The consecutive sixes from David Miller made South Africa win by four wickets. Reaching a target of 142 looked simple when the second innings started, inbetween continuous wicket fall increased the pressure on South Africa. The match was really awesome to watch and all who have placed a bet upon two teams might've experienced the increased heart pumping.

That was a lucky win for south Africans. If you fully watch the match, then you would know that Srilanka were on top till the last over. David Miller changed everything at the end and South Africa won the thriller. With this , the Srilanka chances to move up are close to zero but south Africa is still in the game.

Australian's are struggling in the second match today with England. They are 8-2. Would you believe it ?
Yes was a lucky escape for south africa and with this win they keep their hopes alive of reaching the semi final and australia on the other hand doing pretty bad against england. They have been bowled out for 125 in 20 overs which is a very low score specially against a team like england. I see an easy win for england in this match.
