Let's enjoy the match of Australia vs Sri Lanka. Although Australia is the favorite in this match. But Sri Lanka's performance in the previous match was good enough. Sri Lanka will not allow Australia to win easily, they will fight hard. Australia won the toss and elected to bowl. Right decision. The team batting later in this World Cup is performing well and the result is going to them.

One shitty news from South African point of view. Quiton de kock might not play in the remaining World cup fixture because he refused to "Take knee" BLM drama. Retirement soon i suppose? Hope i'm wrong.
Follow up news.

Finally De Kock broke his silence on this BLM controversy. CSA not earning brownie points when handling their players, they already lost the likes of AB, Faf, Tahir, Morris. Anyway this De Kock issue seems to be resolved and he'll continue to play for SA in WC.

It was a memorable day for Namibia. They have won their first World Cup's match. Scotland was not an easy opponent for Namibia. However, Namibia's bowlers have shown outstanding performance. They have won only because of the performance of the bowlers. If Scotland could have collected 130/140, Namibia's victory would have been difficult. The Namibian team is a potential team. They will become as strong as Afghanistan in the coming days.

Namibia can't be compared to Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a country of 35 million people and cricket is one of the major sports. On the other hand, Namibia is a desert country with a population of only around 2 million, and cricket is popular only among some of the minority ethnic groups. What they have done so far is commendable. But they have to deal with limited player pool and lack of opportunities. They received the ODI status in 2019, and are yet to play in any ODIs against the test playing nations.

Why did Bangladesh choose to bowl first after winning the toss. It is evident by now that the team which bats first is losing. Does anyone knows any team that opted to bat first and won in this tournament. England is a much better team than Bangladesh but they were still able to put on a decent score. Balling was pathetic.

First of all, the Bangladesh team did not have any hope or expectation to win this match. England is a very strong team and they are the favorites of this tournament. The title is expected to be won by either India or England this season. On the other hand, Bangladesh is very weak. They can’t even win against a team like Scotland. We knew Bangladesh would be defeated, we hoped for a somewhat dignified defeat. But Bangladesh could not do that. They lost very badly.

In addition to Liton, the other players, coaches, support staff, and selectors have all failed. Now that the Bangladesh team has taken a good look in the mirror, it should realize what went wrong. I am deeply disappointed by the performance of the Bangladesh team. Two losses in a row will be difficult for Bangladesh moving forward. In my opinion, Bangladesh will win none of their matches and finish last in their group.

Almost all the players of Bangladesh team are performing poorly but no one is doing so consistently like Liton. None of the players like Mushfiqur and Shakib consistently play badly. Moreover, when batting as an opener, the player has to be responsible. If the opening pair does not perform well, it becomes difficult to win the match. So the team definitely needs a talented and experienced opener.

@onecall123, Yeah, rough time for the team right now. I know Bangladesh is better than this but right now I don't even think that the players themselves believe that. I don't understand, you want the toss, you thought it was a good batting condition and you choose too bad but you cannot put runs on the board to defend. What is the point of winning the toss and what's the point of batting first? And after you put on a really small total you start leaking runs here and there. This was anything but professional. At this point, I don't even think that the players take this seriously as their job and I think they rather take this as their hobby. If you are a professional cricketer then you have to play like a pro because that's your job.

West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland should stop dreaming to reach the semifinal.
Yeah these 3 teams had lost all their 2 matches so far which might mean the end of their dream about qualifying to semi-final.

In group-1, England, Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa are still having chances to make a semi-final birth and it seems highly competitive group.

In group-2, Pakistan, New Zealand and India are having chances to qualify unless otherwise Afghanistan and Namibia upset any of those 3 teams.

I guess it would be too hard to pick only 2 teams from either group as of now. T20 matches are highly unpredictable like Sri Lanka arrives the world cup like lower side but right now performing like the favorites. England and Pakistan already 80% confirmed their semi-final spot and Sri Lanka and Australia in group-1 and India and New Zealand group-2 need to fight hard to get semi final slot.
Namibia does have some good sets of pacers but I don't think they are good as a team to Upset any major team. Afghanistan on the other hand could be the gamechanger in this group, the way they scored 190 in the first match was commendable and I am very sure they will create at least 1 upset for the big 3. Pakistan obviously is pretty much in the semis even if they lose against Afghanistan which is unlikely they will still float into the semis comfortably. But I am sure Afghans will make an upset.

In the other group, I expected really a lot from Bangladesh before the start of the tournament but they are nowhere near the top teams of the tournament, in fact I would reckon the Afghanistan team is much better than their team. But I still feel this group would be quite competitive, SL is in good touch and I won't be much surprised if they give a tough fight to Australia tomorrow and if they somehow win that match, it will open a whole new level of possibilities for this group too. But if the Aussies win then I doubt WI or Ban would be able to beat them so they would be having greater chances of getting through.

In Search of Incredible
Scotland made 109 runs in their 20 overs. By the way, they have played the whole 20 overs, and they lost 8 wickets. So they had some wickets to work with too in the end. They lost wicket at regular intervals. And the match is over right now. Namibia won the match really easily. They had 4 wickets to spare and also five balls left. For me, it was the bad start Scotland made which they never recovered from. Though it was a small total Nambibia played well, and also the 11 extras hurt Scotland too.
Scotland may finish this super 12 group journey without any victory. Only Namibia was the weakest opponent in group 2. I thought Scotland will win against Namibia but they performed so badly. Their upcoming matches will be with more strong opponents. Perhaps, the will loss their remaining matches. West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland should stop dreaming to reach the semifinal.

LOL.. Scotland is off to a really shitty start against Namibia. Ruben Trumpelmann bowled a total of 4 legal deliveries (and two wides) and three of the Scotland batsmen are back in pavilion. Looks like Scotland will record another two digit total today. Never expected such pathetic performance from a team that won all three of their qualifier matches (including one against Bangladesh). And these matches are very important for them. A win means additional funding of $40,000 from the ICC.

The result of the match was expected. The Bangladesh team was in the same condition as now, they had no hope of winning if no miracle happened.

There is no shortage of players to replace Liton Das, Bangladesh has players like Imrul, Anamul who were regular performers in the team before. It is a mystery why players like Imrul and Anamul are not being given a chance despite Liton's consistent poor performance. The management of Bangladesh should now think of an alternative to Liton and remove him from the team.

Toss will play an important role, the team batting first will have a hard time to win. The team batting second are mostly winning. Indeed England is a good team but Bangladesh is unpredictable and they can suddenly change the game.
Yeah, winning the toss would be too crucial and not sure why Bangladesh have opted to bat first today after winning the toss. Probably they might have planned to attack England with their variety of spinners but if they have put England to bat first then I guess there would be better chances for them to win today. I expect, Bangladesh may finish up around 130 in 20 overs but definitely below par when considering England's batting depth.
Bangladesh has given a target of only 125 runs. And as I've heard about this pitch, it's a bit of a batting pitch and can easily be over 160 on such a pitch. So the target of 125 is not enough to win. The Bangladesh team is in a lot of crisis. They are consistently performing poorly. There is no improvement in performance. Liton Das is consistently batting poorly, the responsibility of an opener is very important. And he has always failed in his duty. I don't understand why he is being given a chance.
I feel this match ended when Bangladesh scored such a low total, and England have lost one wicket now but overall they’re looking strong and should easily win it.

Furthermore the reason he could be selected is lack of good player’s to replace him or the team management doesn’t have any confidence in other player’s, but you’re right sooner or later they need to take a call.

England will play against Bangladesh in the first match of the day. The match is most likely to be one-sided. England is a very strong team. On the other hand, Bangladesh is a very weak team. England took all their wickets for 55 runs in the first match against a strong team like West Indies. England's bowlers have bowled brilliantly. However, Bangladesh's performance is unpredictable, it is not surprising that they did well against England. However, the match is most likely to be one-sided.
Yes England are very clear favorites to win this match and they will win but cannot say that this would be a completely one sided affair as Bangladesh is also not a bad team specially in these conditions their spinners may come in handy like shakid is in pretty good form.
Looking at the past matches some teams who were not favourites were able to defeat big teams. Toss will play an important role, the team batting first will have a hard time to win. The team batting second are mostly winning. Indeed England is a good team but Bangladesh is unpredictable and they can suddenly change the game.

You say the team batting first will have a hard time winning, and the statistics say the same thing. The team that batted later in this field has won more times. But Bangladesh decided to bat after winning the toss. I think their decision is justified. Because their batsmen are not very good. If England had given a big target by batting first, then Bangladesh team would have had to accept a shameful defeat. With bad fielding, bad bowling and bad captaincy, it doesn't seem possible to win against a team like England. They must improve in every sector.
