So India starting their training program in the UAE and is there an Australian series coming up between them, i have searched but could not find anything regarding that, when that series is planned and what is the update regarding that and any plans of resuming cricket by the BCCI. Since all the teams are coming from a long break we can expect some upset when they start playing again like we saw in the England West Indies series.

So cricket will be back to normal as BCCI is planning to regroup their players and start training, Pakistan already sent their players and England and West Indies already started their match. Australia will soon start their preparation camps and so does New Zealand what about South Africa Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, not heard much from their respective boards about their plans on resuming cricket.

ICC doesn't have any say in BBL, IPL or any domestic league so their permission is just formality imo.

Obviously it is just for the national contracted players. For the IPL, it is the franchises who give out the contract and it has nothing to do with the BCCI. Talking about the BCCI contracts, they are divided in to 4 grades, covering a total of 27 players. Three of the players are in Grade A+, and they are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. So I expect all these 27 players to attend the training camp.

If everything goes well we might be able to see the IPL this year. The statement states "The BCCI is mulling hosting a camp in UAE for their contracted players". Contracted players would be domestic players and not international I guess.

Looks like the ICC will make the decision on moving the World Cup pretty soon, with BCCI making their decision this week and ACB announcing their BBL season it looks like the franchise cricket will resume first.

Well... I think that they will just say that they'll postpone the decision to the next meeting, as they have been doing till now. I don't think that they can take a solid decision now. Situation in India is getting worse by the day, and they haven't finalized negotiating with any of the other boards (especially those in the UAE, Sri Lanka or New Zealand). So unless they are going to cancel this year's edition, I don't see a solid announcement on 17th.

Most chances we are going to have this announcement as right now they cannot give any commited announcement about this event so we all have to wait some more as UAE which is hot topic for IPL is also in not position Corona is creating serious problems for them as well hopefully BCCI will give detailed announcement in August and then we will able to have correct time table about this all.

The ICC never detailed about the World Cup and now the BCCI will take a decision on the IPL, either way i would like to see some matches, West Indies and England was a surprising start and hopefully the rest of the series resumes as well and if the BCCI is going with the IPL then the rest of the series will be resumed after that and there will not be any excuse further from resuming cricket.

Well.. I understand that the BCCI is desperate to hold the IPL sometime in the next couple of months. But with the situation getting worse with every passing day, I can't foresee how they are going to do it. The situation in India is becoming more horrendous with the passage of time. Even the most remote areas are getting infected and people are dying like flies in cities such as Mumbai. And from what I have heard, the situation in UAE is even worse. Sri Lanka is a good choice, if NZ is overlooked. Apart from these venues, I don't think that the IPL can be played anywhere in the globe for the next 6 months.

I agree with you that it will be very hard for BCCI to host IPL in their own country India . because covid-19 is being infected in horrible from in india. if BCCI will hosts IPL in india then players from others countries will not come . so BCCI should decide to host IPL on NZ or UAE . i think BCCI should request the nz cricke board . otherwise IPL will not take place in this year.

Hosting franchise leagues in Australia/New Zealand is very complex, because normally they don't offer tax holiday. And the tax burden is considered as one of the foremost disadvantages of BBL in Australia. South Africa hosted the tournament in 2009, and they made the event tax-free. If this year's IPL is played in UAE, then we can expect it to be tax-free. But things get complicated, when we talk about hosting the events in countries such as New Zealand.
