West Indies without a strong team posted a total of over 200 runs and India needs 208 runs to win  Cheesy,
I did not expect this but India is also experimenting with their players and they are not playing with their best bowlers either and hence West Indies can win the match here, Bangladesh won the first T20 in their series with them and then India came back and won the series and here West Indies can win the match with the total they posted but India started really well and if Rohit Sharma bat throughout then any total can be chased  Wink .

West Indies without a strong team posted a total of over 200 runs and India needs 208 runs to win  Cheesy, it is a huge total to chase even for a team like India and they do not have any explosive players and if you are going over 10 runs per over it is difficult for any team and it all depends upon how Rohit Sharma can give them a good start, if West Indies could bowl a good line and length then they can win the match as they have the total to win.

208 is a huge score to chase down at this pitch and losing wickets early in the first 10 overs can be dangerous. WI in the start only had got the early 50 runs and had a good start as well but now Rohit and Rahul need a good partnership and haven't to leave it all to Kohli.

WI had started batting positively right from the beginning and due to which all the players had played well and batting close to average of 10 runs n over in 16 overs .Hetymer is batting on 55 and seems India would have to chase close to 200 runs .

It was not surprising, with so many T20 specialists present in the West Indian team. They will certainly make 200 plus, and it s going to be a very tough chase for the relatively inexperienced Indian side. West Indies do have some good bowlers such as Sheldon Cottrell and Jason Holder who are very good in this format. 10 runs per over will be very challenging for India.

WI is performing well after losing the first wicket. Now they are batting at an RR of almost 11 and if another wicket doesn't fall soon, they may get a total of 180 easily which will be hard to chase. Lewis is close to his first 50 and now at 34 with 3 4s and 6s.

What other job he has anyway? Third umpires are normally consulted only 3-4 times during the entire match

You are saying that pressing 2 buttons ( Out and Not out) is easy task for 3rd umpire, its tough world out there for them Grin

Tomorrow the first T20 between India and West Indies begins and i hope it will be a good tournament even without the best West Indies line up in this format as they are experimenting with some young players like Brandon King and Fabian Allen and they will look to impress the IPL auctions too which will help them to help their growth and i hope Sanju Samson gets a chance to play in this series and the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar after injury and how he performs is a major factor in this tournament.

You are right. For many of the West Indian players, this is an optimal opportunity to impress the IPL franchises ahead of this year's auctions (19th December). Most of the franchises have released large groups of players and have fat purses available with them. I won't be surprised if these younger West Indian players attract bids in excess of $500K. Out of the 971 players listed in the auctions, 34 are from West Indies. Australia is the country from where the largest number of players are taking part (55), followed by South Africa (54).

For quite some time umpiring standard going down so its interesting and welcome move from ICC, let's see how this experiment pans out. Third umpire have to watch every ball now ( Poor guy Grin)
That is a really good decision because we saw some blunders in the recent series and the third umpire is sitting idle for most of the match and now they need to monitor every delivery and it is a really good job as they will have more productive work  Cheesy, the fact is we need to make use of the technology and we have the resources and it is a good development to monitor every ball for no ball.

What other job he has anyway? Third umpires are normally consulted only 3-4 times during the entire match, and this particular move will not add much to their work load. After all, unlike the field umpires they are sitting comfortably in AC cabins, sipping tea during the match. Jokes apart, this was a much needed move. A lot many times, competitive matches were ruined by poor decisions from the field umpires.

Third umpire to call front foot no-balls in India-WI series

Quote
As a part of ICC's latest technology trial, third umpires will call front foot no-balls in the upcoming T20I and ODI series between India and the West Indies. The on-field umpires in the series will otherwise remain responsible for other in-game decisions as usual.

"Throughout the trial, the Third Umpire will be responsible for monitoring every ball bowled and identifying whether there has been any front foot infringement," the ICC said in a release on Thursday (December 5). "If there has been an infringement on the front foot, the Third Umpire will communicate this to the On-Field Umpire who will subsequently call a no ball. As a result, the On-Field Umpire will not call a front foot no ball without the advice of the Third Umpire.

The cricket board usually avoids representing the country in these games and i am not sure why that is, they are not willing to send a team to the Olympics nor any meets away from the control of the ICC and hence i would like to say that they are private boards and not playing for the interest of the nation even though we call them the national team.

The BCCI believes that participating in such tournaments can give more power to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and this may take away some of the powers from the board. Also, they are not comfortable with the idea of mandatory drug testing. The BCCI made a decision on not to send teams to such events, after the controversial cricket tournament during the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

This time they included cricket as one of the items in the South Asian Games. India is participating in the games, but they refused to send a cricket team to either the men's or the women's competitions. This time Pakistan has also refused to send a team, while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are sending their U23 teams. IMO, India could have sent the U23 side as well.

Has anyone came across the new bowling record from a Nepal Women's Cricket player Anjali Chand. She has taken six wickets bowling 2.1 overs without leaving any single run against the team Maldives. In men's cricket the record took place in the T20 match between India and Bangladesh last month. In that match Deepak Chahar takes six wickets leaving seven runs bowling 3.2 overs.

This will be a good contest as India is having a good team and they are looking like world beaters at home and if they are able to perform well in New Zealand and Australia then i will consider their rankings as genuine
In Test matches India is the number one team in the world and if you look at the past trips and the results you will understand that India played and dominated outside the country and the upcoming New Zealand and Australan series will be another challenge but i am sure they will win the series if not draw the matches if the main players are fit to play. In T20 India is ranked number 5 and in ODI they are just a few points below England.

I have read about the record but i doubt the match is recorded as i cannot find the video online and if any of you have that video please do post that as it looks like an incredible performance even though they are minnows in cricket and i have no idea about the quality of players from Maldives, but to pick 6 wickets without giving away a single run is incredible.

Away series for India:  WI (won) NewZealand (Feb 2020) and Australia (Nov 2020)
This will be a good contest as India is having a good team and they are looking like world beaters at home and if they are able to perform well in New Zealand and Australia then i will consider their rankings as genuine, India have the bowlers to trouble any team but their batsman need to score runs and if they are able to score runs abroad is to be seen and it will be good test for their players.
