With experienced batsmen like Deepak Hooda at the crease, LSG would have gone for the win in the end.
What are you talking about? Deepak Hooda has been one of the worst batsmen for LSG in this entire season which is why I was surprised to see him back in their lineup.

Rahul getting injured affected LSG badly. He is way better than players like Hooda even though his SR is on the lower side.

Mumbai Indians are back in top form at the moment so this team can beat Gujarat Titans tomorrow as well and make it to the finals.
They definitely can since they have the momentum with them, but don't underestimate GT just because of their recent loss. They have so many match-winners in their team and they bat deep along with a capable bowling lineup.

What a disaster for LSG! I have never seen a batting line-up completely confused whether to take a run or not. MI were lucky to win the toss as the team batting first will have an upper edge. Akash Madhwal was the star of yesterday's match. I have never heard of this guy but for me he got best out of the slow pitch. Bye bye LSG! I hope you come back strong next season.

In the meantime Mota Bhai's visit to Siddhivinayak temple was quite fruitful. MI's hope of reaching the finals is still on. I hope the pitch of Ahemdabad would be better than the pitch of Chennai.

MI qualified for next round at very last moment and they now have momentum with them. Akash Madhwal is now a well known bowler because of his majestic spell last night, where he took 5 wickets and gave only 5 runs on just 21 balls. 3 run out tells the story about how poor coordination is between batsmen of LSG. Marcus Stoinis is only LSG batsmen who tried to take his side to victory rest all collapsed.
The job is not yet done for MI as they have to face furious GT in next match. The winner of that match will play Mahi 11 in the final. IPL is getting exciting as its heading towards it end.
After a long battle, LSG suffered a disappointing loss in the Eliminator match. In the beginning, the batsmen were put under such pressure by the bowlers that it broke the whole team. It proved once again that even a big batsman is nothing if a bowler can show his bowling magic. Marcus Stoinis, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran could not lead the team to victory. Mumbai Indians are back in top form at the moment so this team can beat Gujarat Titans tomorrow as well and make it to the finals.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians
In the match between these two teams, Mumbai Indians batted first and set a target of 182 runs in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians showed an amazing performance in this match. I thought that the runs scored by Mumbai Indians would be easily overcome by the batsmen of Lucknow Super Giants team.  Lucknow Super Giants could not win this match due to good performance.
Akash Madhwal played the most important role for Mumbai Indians' victory. Akash Madhwal took 5 wickets with 5 runs in 3.3 overs. Mumbai Indians won by 81 runs against Lucknow in such a tough performance of Akash Madhwal in the eliminator of IPL yesterday. Maybe it would have been very difficult for Mumbai Indians to win the match if not for Akash Madhwal brilliant performance. Not only as the hero of yesterday's match win, but he also achieved the feat of best bowling in the IPL.

The performance of Mumbai bowlers today is much better than the previous matches. Akash Madhwal is bowling very well. In 2 overs he picked up three important wickets for just 3 runs. Lucknow collected only 75 runs in 10 overs. The important thing is that they lost 5 wickets. Now the match is completely under Mumbai's control. But now Marcus Stoinis and Deepak Hooda are batting. These two batsmen are very experienced. And so Mumbai still has to bowl controlled. If these two batsmen are set at the crease, it will be difficult for Mumbai to win.
Most of the peoples were concern about Mumbai bowling but things completely under their control with after 12 over 90 runs and 6 outs mean now we have second qualifier between GT vs MI which could be good encounter.
Today we have good batting and bowing from Mumbai specially their bowlers which are no experienced done good job and not allowed LSG aggressive batting to have anything from here just Stoinis done some resistance but after his run-out now Mumbai can feel safe.

Today we have no big score from any Mumbai batsmen but still all were in good touch which helps their team for having target like 182 Naveen-ul-Haq's four wickets in vain with Mumbai excellent all-rounder performance.

Most people were worried about Mumbai Indians' bowling line-up as Mumbai's bowlers were not very experienced. As Mumbai's bowling was weak, many did not think 183 was enough to win the target. But Akash Madhwal changed the whole scenario. Rohit Sharma also played an important role.

Akash Madhal picked up 5 wickets for just 5 runs. I think this is the best bowling of this year's IPL. Akash bowled brilliantly. And because of Akash's bowling, Mumbai was in control of the match from the beginning of the match. Rohit Sharma also got two crucial runs out of Deepak Hooda and Goutham. With experienced batsmen like Deepak Hooda at the crease, LSG would have gone for the win in the end. But if they want to defeat Gujarat in the next match, Mumbai batsmen will have to bat with some more responsibility.

At the start of the IPL it looked like Mumbai Indians might not qualify for the playoffs this season and after losing the last match against LSG by 5 runs in the last match of the group stage, Mumbai Indians' playoff was very much in doubt but Rohit came back in a big way in the last match against SRH.  Sharma's team. But the win against SRH was not enough for the playoffs. The equation was that Mumbai Indians could secure the playoffs only if rcb were defeated by Gujarat titans. In the end, Gujarat Titans' win over RCB ensured Mumbai Indians' playoff. After putting together so many equations to finally secure the playoffs, they beat LSG by a huge margin in the first eliminator match, now they have one more hurdle in front of them to reach the finals and that hurdle is Gujarat. If they beat Gujarat tomorrow, Mumbai Indians are guaranteed a final.

Sasta Pandaya wanted to be a hero. Opening the bowling and coming out at an important position of 1 down. Main captain hun, main sab karunga, mujhe sab aata hai "Attitude"

What actually went wrong? Well, this post-match commentary from Cricbuzz sums it up nicely.

"Chasing 182, just one batter crossed 20 for the Lucknow Super Giants. A five-for. Three run-outs. Losing last 8 wickets for 32 runs. In the last 4 games (including this one) LSG had 4 different opening combinations. And here comes the best part: The openers from their last game weren't even part of the impact subs today. And the one who opened the batting last time LSG beat MI (just over a week ago) batted at 7 today. Gee, if those aforementioned facts/stats don't make up for a perfect disaster recipe, not sure what else would."

When it comes to the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, the pitch tends to play a touch slow and favors spinners. So, both of MI's openers were dismissed cheaply due to the pitch's tendency. An average first innings score at this venue is around 163 runs. Taking the nature of the pitch at Chepauk, MI put up a decent target for their opponents to chase. However, it was Akash Madhwal who really stole the show by taking five wickets and leading his team to a well-deserved victory.

I am not sure whether Chepauk offers any advantage for the spinners over the seamers. In the past matches, it was Matheesha Pathirana who took the most number of wickets. And during the last match, it was Akash Madhwal, the seamer from Mumbai Indians who destroyed the Lucknow Super Giants. Batting is more difficult in this pitch when compared to others, and I guess both the spinners as well as the seamers get equal advantage out of it. Anyway, the next two matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where conditions are more favorable for the batsmen.

The pitch at Chepauk is proving to be quite slow compared to those in other stadiums.
Yeah, it's definitely going down that road but surprisingly it's not overwhelmingly supporting spinners only, which is the default setting of Chepuk.

Another reason is spectators already tasted the thrill of 200+ run chases and due to this, many don't find 170-180ish scores not too exciting. Although most of the time 150-180 scores could be very competitive if there is something on the pitch for the bowlers.

We can't term this to be completely bowling pitch. It is the home ground for Chennai, but the team had won 4 matches out of 7 matches played. On an average throughout this season we were able to see the score to be around 180-190 runs. In this ground Chennai had scored 200 runs. Most of the match results on the Chennai ground is on defending. Maybe that have once again reflected in the eliminator match.

The pitch at Chepauk is proving to be quite slow compared to those in other stadiums. It is not possible to start attacking from the first ball, and that is the reason why Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma got out cheaply yesterday. In this pitch a total of 160 is going to be enough to guarantee a win. Mumbai Indians managed a total of 182/8, which proved to be more than enough. And the Mumbai management did the right thing by going for the impact substitute (Suryakumar Yadav replaced with Nehal Wadhera) in the first innings itself. Wadhera added some crucial runs towards the end.

Especially Lucknow Super Giants are showing very bad performance in this match. If the opening batsman could score the runs correctly then surely the pressure on the wicket would be less then the number of runs would increase and the team would be likely to win. Many other batsmen including Mayers and Krunal Pandya departed the field for fewer runs. And this match was played on a bowling page ground which resulted in more fall of wickets to collect runs. Lucky for Mumbai Indians as the team came into the qualifiers almost by luck. However, due to poor performance in Lucknow, the team had to leave Mumbai.

What a match it is. how LSG lost to MI by 81 runs. such a result was not expected at all. LSG have been considered a good team in IPL but they lost all their wickets for 101 runs and lost to Mi by a huge margin on this match. I was really disappointed by this match. many of me here supported LSG and bet for him but in all cases LSG surprised everyone today.
Akash Madhwal is the find of the season for Mumbai Indians and another wonderful spell of bowling in a crucial match and Mumbai Indians are back in form as usual like the other seasons during the final stages of the IPL and it looks like we will be seeing another final between Mumbai and Chennai and Chennai lifting another trophy  Wink.
Akash Madhwal having day of his life as his performance give his team place into qualifier 2 which is surely great achievement now after today's performance I am surely they will win against Gujrat, and we will have one of the best final in this season with most chances Dhoni is going to retire from IPL, and he will try to end his career on high note after having early place into grand final.

But, this all is just prediction which is not going to fill until we have next game on ground between Gujrat vs Mumbai now both are having equal chance and on match day performance could be vital for any team but after watching today Mumbai now I am going to support them for the final spot to bat and bowl both are doing good now just need some good performance from top order.

Mumbai Indians performed really well. When at first I saw that the target was only 183 I did not believe that Mumbai Indians would be able to successfully defend that. I thought that target was good but not probably good enough, as in this season's IPL we had a lot of big scores being chased down.

But Mumbai Indians proved me wrong. They have successfully defended the target. And they have also done that with style. 81 is a big margin. Even though they did not score very big they had certainly won with a big margin. Is it the biggest so far in this season's IPL by the way?
Importantly LSG was the only team to win its last three league matches. The win margins were low, however the team should've got the winning form. Throughout this season's IPL we were able to watch good number of matches having big targets placed and the targets easily chased. Also LSG is the highest scorer of the 2023 IPL. It had also chased 212 runs against RCB in the last ball and recorded a win by a wicket.
Yes, but form doesn't always seem to exist in cricket. Moreover, if the condition of the team is good at one time, that is not get by another time. Maintaining consistency is a big challenge for cricket, especially for franchise leagues. LSG at one time looked like they were very good performers and would be champions and Mumbai Indians looked like they might not make the playoffs. But everything changed. The beginning was good but the ending didn't do well.
Consistency is all that matters. As said LSG and GT looked very consistent in their performance. Both the teams missed at the right time. It was Mumbai Indians that was down at some point, but it retained its consistency. The unluckiest is the RCB, that was supposed to be the team on the fourth place. It was Shubman Gill that crashed the dream of the RCB. Even with ODI matches it is possible to make better prediction, but the same doesn't work with T20. Single over could change entire scenario of the match. In the qualifier 1 similar situation happened, if Rashid Khan's wicket hadn't fallen the match could've been won by Gujarat Titans for sure.
