The match is in completely in favour of Chennai Super Kings. Gaikwad failed to perform, but the opening went good with the scoring from Conway and Rahane. The middle order is complete disappointment as Dube, Moeen Ali and Rayudu failed to contribute at the required time. This had increased the pressure among the players and finally Dhoni and Jadeja gave the try. Finally good match to watch and lucky day for the supporters of Rajasthan Royals.

This tournament is very much over for DC, they were 5th in last IPL but yet to win a game in there 5 appearances. Warner scored 51 runs on 47 balls in last game and 65 runs on 55 balls in game against RR. I am sure his stats will be similar in other two games also, the point is despite his slow run rate he is the only one who is scoring runs. Apart from him there is one or two players who scores more then 20 to 30 runs. DC have placed responsibility of batting on Warner alone.

We all know that T20 cricket is a format where the batting side needs to do a lot better every time. And DC is not certainly doing that. They are somehow getting to a total that is almost never going to be enough. Warner is not being able to have a good strike rate and I really think a big reason for that is the other players not being able to stay in the middle for a longer period of time. So he has to make sure that they don’t lose quick wickets. And trying to do that, he is not being able to score freely. But I absolutely agree, at least he is scoring, unlike the others.

He is under severe criticism, from left, right and center. But strangely, none of the critics are complaining about the Indian players in Delhi Capitals, who have so far failed to score runs. Warner did what he could. He was playing against quality bowling attacks and with some support from the other players, he could have stepped up the scoring rate. Now he is under pressure and in the next match he will try to attack from the very beginning. And then the same story will repeat and Delhi Capitals will be in big trouble. Anyway, they still have 10 matches remaining in this season.

CSK were in a good position in the match when CSK managed to post a score of 76 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 9 overs. Rahane was left lbw in the 10th over and Shivam Dube had to return in the 12th over as well, neither of them could survive by Ashwin attract. This is how wickets keep falling. If we look at the last over, CSK needed 20 runs but they collected 17. They went to a close win but lost by just 3 runs. If CSK get a boundary from the 4th and 5th ball of the 20th over, the match could have been easily won.
CSK can draw some positives from the match despite the narrow defeat. Thanks to some strong batting they were in a good position after the first nine overs with a score of 76 for one wicket. Furthermore, their bowlers did a respectable job of keeping the opposition score within reach. In the last over CSK also displayed tenacity by scoring 17 runs instead of the necessary 20 which was admirable. CSK can definitely recover and triumph in their next encounter with a few adjustments and a little bit more good fortune.

Did anyone noticed that David Warner is now the second highest run-scorer of this season? He has 209 runs to his name, second only to Shikhar Dhawan. But he has been under a lot of fire, due to his very low strike rate (114.83). But IMO Delhi Capitals would have done a lot worse without him. Apart from Warner, the next highest scorer for DC has been Axar, who has just 108 runs to his name. None of the other DC batsmen has got even 50 runs to their name from the 4 completed matches. Still it is Warner who is being criticized.

Chennai was completely in control of the match till the 9th over. But then slowly Chennai began to fall behind. And the 9-14th over, Chennai's collection was only 27 runs in 5 overs. And because of this poor performance in 5 overs, Chennai lost the match. Chennai needed 20 runs in the last over. And under such pressure, it is very difficult to score 20 runs in the last over. Chennai scored 36 runs in the last 2 overs. Even then they can't win. I would say Chennai didn't have good luck so they lost.
I will say Chennai team will lose this match because of their bad luck. Chennai managed to score 172 runs but after they had 4 more wickets in hand they could not score only 3 runs. They ran out of overs before they could score 3 runs. I would say a hard fought match.  Later, Rajasthan Royals won. If Rajasthan Royals had scored more runs, they would not have been under so much pressure. Rajasthan Royals were under a lot of pressure.

40 runs were needed from the last 12 balls and in the end Chennai Super Kings lost by 3 runs. The slow start from both Ravindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni probably cost them the match. They should have shown a bit more urgency. Dhoni and Jadeja waited till the very end, and by that time the advantage was with Rajasthan. And all credit to Sandeep Sharma. He conceded two sixes (second and third balls), but then came back strongly. 7 runs were needed from 3 balls and CSK could manage only three singles.
A good match between RR and CSK  the target was a good one not difficult to chase but chennai super kings couldn't chase it due to RR balling  . They lost at the last minute due to weakness in their batting.
A seasoned veteran duo of Dhoni and Jadeja almost steal the show but sadly last three balls give them shocking defeat which is still an amazing batting skills by these two in difficult conditions while one they were completely out of the game, but again these two guys bring back and having amazing end of this match which was looking bore at once stage as @Sithara007 already mention 40 runs from 12 balls is never been easy task but these two hits four sixes which completely change the momentum of this match, but Sharma's yorkers gave them good win, and now they are having 3 wins from their 4 matches which are giving them top rank in current league table after 17 matches.

F&ck why are these guys keep producing the last ball finish? Are they trying to give a heart attack to punters and fans or what?  Grin

This is ridiculous! Absolutely loving it adrenaline rush towards the end. This edition produced some crackers in the initial phase, normally these sorts of close matches come in the later part of the tournament.
Agreed. So many exciting matches one after the other. Heard that CSK vs RR achieved a crazy viewership record which makes sense since MSD and Jadeja were very entertaining towards the end.

That last ball would have definitely gone for a six, but SS nailed the yorker luckily due to which RR barely won.

Dumbest statements ever. They literally took them from 113/6 to 172/6 and almost won. The ones that actually should be blamed are Dube, Rayudu etc who wasted balls which increased the pressure on their team.

CSK still need 54 runs to win from 18 balls but MSD is not yet showing any urgency yet, trying to rotate the strike rather than going for the big hit. If he takes the team to victory from this stage it will be an incredible game plan, if not it will be an blunder.

Yeah, it is just a phase that every batter has to go through. Still, a lot of IPL is left and I am sure SKY would be able to come back to his original form.
Suryakumar Yadav is struggling a lot, he is gone for a golden duck in four instance, 3 in ODI and now in the IPL, so he needs to think about building his partnership and rotate the strike before breaking free rather than throwing away the wicket in the very first ball.

@elevates @ Haunebu exactly! Nothing much to add, hope fans (not talking about you pakhitheboss but casual fans) cut some slack to these players, these guys are not machines.

Paddikal was doing badly and was struggling as well, although it was due to his batting number but look at him tonight. He's back to his usual business.

It happens to every player, look at Harry Brook. He's too having a bad time in the IPL and struggling badly. A couple of weeks back he was scoring tons for fun.

They both are champion players so give it time. I am sure both Brook and SKY will bounce back and produce some beautiful innings for their respective franchises.
True. I expected so much from Harry Brook when he was selected by SRH in his first IPL season and he turned out to be such a royal disappointment. SRH keeps trying to tweak his batting position, but the results were the same.

On the other hand, Sky's recent form is horrendous though I am expecting him to go back to his 360 ways pretty soon.

India's former star player Sehwag told Warner that if he is batting slowly like this, he does not need to come to play in the IPL. And we don't waste time watching matches to watch slow batting. I totally agree with Sehwag. Warner is now 36.

Age is just a number! Looking at his fitness I think Warner can still go on. Look at MSD he is 41 and can still play a few more seasons. The problem with Warner is that he does not have any batters down the order to rely on. Look at the scores of other batters they are hardly getting any runs. Axar Patel does not always bats the way he did yesterday. This is why the SR of Warner is so low in this season of IPL.

Delhi's top order players, especially Warner, batted a bit slowly. Even then they managed to collect 85 runs in the first 10 overs. It wasn't a bad collection. If the middle order and finisher batsmen play well, Delhi could have set a target of around 200. But due to the poor performance of the middle order batsmen, Delhi's innings did not last long. A score of 172 was enough to fight, but not good enough to win.
The first three batsmen of Mumbai Indians' top order have batted responsibly. Rohit Sharma returned to form and managed to play an inning of 65 runs. The reason for Delhi's defeat was not only their slow batting, but also the performance of their bowlers was very poor.

This match was decent but not very thrilling. The real excitement in IPL matches comes when a team scores over 200 run as it creates suspense when a team batting first sets a target of over 200 runs. The hopes of winning are often high for the team chasing such a target and when they successfully chase it the suspense increases even more. You're right if Delhi had performed a little better and set a higher trget the match would have been more exciting. One thing is for sure when Dhawan and Shaw open for Delhi  they rarely lose their wickets, but sometimes luck doesn't favor them as was the case this time with DC's run rate not being enough to put pressure on MI.

In the ongoing matches of IPL  targets of 150 or 170 runs are considered ordinary considering the pitch conditions. The match between KKR and RR is expected to be thrilling, especially with Ambati Rayudu being my favorite in CSK. I am eagerly looking forward to it and I won't miss watching it even if there are any surprises in store.

Cant believe its warner who has scored a fifty on 46 balls and no six in his entire innings. Thanks to Axar Patel blistering 50 runs towards the end of innings. In reply MI are very nicely placed as Mumbai need 56 runs in 42 balls with lots of batting to come. Rohit Sharma is leading from the front and so far he has scored 58 runs on 35 balls that include 4 sixes. The match is very much in favor of MI and they will taste there first victory tonight.
Sometimes the behavior of the players seems as if someone has tied up them. It is true that players like Warrier do not usually play with such a strike rate. Maybe from the beginning they tried to play by keeping the wicket and that is why the run rate has decreased. The Mumbai Indians team is also trying to play carefully. They are playing seriously. As only one wicket have fallen, Mumbai Indians' victory in this match is only a matter of time. Rohit Sharma is batting well, maybe he will stay on the pitch until the match is owned.
What you can expect from a 36 years old player which is having 140 strike rate at his peak and now having trouble to score like he has done few years back but still done decent job helps Axar Patel who done amazing job to bring his team at decent target but now if DC wants to have better results they need to change their strategy with having some firepower because after playing 4 matches they fail to win anyone which is big setback for them and with this now most chances they could be going to end this season below which is never been ideal they have good bowling, but their batsmen are not giving enough support which is surely problem hopefully in coming matches we will have better performance from them.

India's former star player Sehwag told Warner that if he is batting slowly like this, he does not need to come to play in the IPL. And we don't waste time watching matches to watch slow batting. I totally agree with Sehwag. Warner is now 36. And if he can't bat well. So what does he need to come to play in the IPL? IPL is always very exciting and competitive. I think Warner's bad batting is spoiling the excitement of the IPL. I'm not a Warner hater. I like Warner very much. But his performance seems very boring this season.
