I'm copying this interesting story as it is:
A Calgary man just won $5M in the Oct. 9 Lotto 6/49 Classic draw— three years after bagging $1M in 2021. After buying a house and car last time, he’s now planning to invest in real estate, stocks, and bonds. He’s also eyeing a trip overseas to visit family.

Talk about getting rich quick twice
A very lucky and very responsible person.
If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?

Story like this are rare occurrence that we may only see once a blue moon, we should not expect our own story to be the same as this, if we don't want to be disappointed, gambling is unpredictable, even the winner never knew he could made it to what we had, the more we are hopeful of being positive about it the more it becomes to us and impossible tak to fulfill, everyone of us may not have the same or similar story, if we can't afford the lose, we shouldn't expect the massive gain coming.

The odds of winning the lottery a third time is almost null, if I were in his shoes o would stop buying tikets and play It smart with the current profit to make some pasive income. Investing in cryptos and other stuf.

Some People have that kind of luck, other play lotto all their life and never win anything.

All this, in my opinion, confirms the idea that miracles sometimes happen! Winning a large sum of money in the lottery (and twice) is certainly a huge success.

The most amazing thing in this story is that, having won once, this man continued to play the lottery (and luck smiled on him again). The vast majority of people would have stopped trying (after they got their first win).

I wonder if he will continue to play this lottery (in the future)? Maybe he wants to win the lottery for the third time? After all, three is a magic number!

This is what can happen to a person if he firmly believes in his luck.

I am sincerely happy for him. I think believing in yourself and your luck is a very valuable human quality.

Congrats to him if it is true. There are people but very few people that can have this kind of luck.

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
If the man can win lottery two times, that means he will continue to buy ticket even if he use the money to establish a very good business. If I win $5 million lottery, I do not think I can buy lottery ticket any longer.
Yeah you are correct and like I know he always thinks there is possibility for him to keep winning all time otherwise he could have something extreme resourceful than keep buying lottery's. $5m dollars is huge enough for someone to never applied for any lottery again than establishing himself properly and never be poor again in his entire life. Of course there are people who have this lifestyle never to utilize the Golden opportunity they had earlier an when luck hit on them again it should be wise never to messed up with the golden opportunity.

The number of people that win the lottery twice is very limited but they are out there, and it seems that unlike the majority of gamblers he has managed his money in a responsible manner so we can expect that he does the same again, in my opinion he should keep buying lottery tickets not only because it is possible he may win again, but simply to remind himself of the source of most of his funds and how it changed his life for the better.

Only a few people might be lucky enough to get a chance like in the story but the rest would end up much worse right? In my neighborhood there is also one person who won a large lottery amount so he became one of the lucky people with a lot of money. I think people who have won before will continue to buy and it will not stop them. Even if it is faced with ourselves, we might continue to buy lottery tickets to get a second chance and even though it does not guarantee that the next opportunity will get the same chance.

I have said it on this forum before that it's only a few people that have attained this kind of luck if compared to the millions of people that are gambling every day but ends up losing their money. That kind of winning is not enough motivation to make one want to gamble compulsively and become addicted, it can motivate a person not to stop gambling because they believed that one day they can be lucky too but such motivation should not influence them negatively.  Like myself, I have heard this kind of stories several times but it doesn't push me to stake more than the amount I should stake, it doesn't push me to gamble all the time. I gamble anytime I want and with the amount I want to spend, one day if am lucky enough, I could win millions top but I will not fight it because if I do, I will definitely lose more than I expect to.

So, if truly this story is real, the guy was lucky and he is also putting the money into wise use which some person might not be able to do so of they were lucky.

if i am able to win $5m i dont think if i can be able to continue gambling anymore. as that will increase the level of my addiction. there are folks who tried to gamble after a big win and end up getting addicted, thereby losing all the money they have won. winning such amount is enough to start up a small business that can be quite helpful than still risking it.

If you were that person, wouldn't you also be curious about the third luck?
I would probably buy another lottery ticket as usual which may have become a routine. If you do everything as usual without increasing the amount of money you spend, I think it will be fine.
One great thing is to allocate his big win to something he really needs and plans for the future. not spending it again in the next bet.

I cannot agree easily that it's a get rich quick scheme since there's no history of the man's loses until he hit the jackpot. So it might have taken him enough time and lost considerably(although probably nothing to compare with his wins).

He's exceptionally lucky though and I love the fact that he does tangible things with his wins and not an irresponsible fellow, although if I was in his shoes, I'll buy Bitcoin and stack it for futuristic gains across cycles.

I'll continue buying tickets since it's obvious his destiny is there.

The relevance of asking yourself this question is usually harmless and perhaps introspective, since if your goal was to win the lottery you already did it, and not playing or playing again would only be a relative question.

Although for many players buying lottery tickets is like drinking coffee.

Yeah clearly enough it ain't easy to get rich quick as it involves alot of process, timing, patience and all of that, but I think he should stop buying lottery ticket and focus on how  to generate more from this assets.
He won $1 million but still prefer to buy more tickets to try his luck. He later won $5 million. This will encourage him to buy more tickets. Some people will want to make name. He may want to win more so that more people will know him. Saying the person that have won lottery most in the world. But if I were the person, I may stop buying tickets and focus on business instead.

But it seems to me that winning the first time is not such a powerful coincidence. Once upon a time I was very keen on Lotto and they showed the winners, and for their sake they had a short interview. Apparently, when they won a big prize, they were obliged to do this. And I was surprised by the frequent fact that the winners more than half of the time said that they bought a lotto ticket for the first time. But when someone wins an incredibly large prize twice, in my opinion, this is a strange situation.

That man is really luck won $5M. If I were that man, I will focus in investment especially investing in Bitcoin Grin

I also use that to buy a house for my family and prepare my future. Maybe I will buy more lotto tickets but that will not be too many because I know that will depends on the luck. I will not to serious with the lotto instead just let it happen. If I can win for more, I will be gladly because I can won two times for the lotto tickets. But that will not easy to win two times unless we have a big luck.

I would buy lottery tickets regularly. I like reading such stories because they motivate people to participate in lotteries. Some lotteries are held for charity when part of the money is given to the winner, and the rest is spent on helping those in need. Upon witnessing such tales of fortune and triumph, individuals are encouraged to take a chance and reap double benefits. Someone will help, which is important for society, and someone will also win, receiving a prize. You don’t always need to think about the material side, or experiencing selfish feelings; I think the win will always go to the one who sincerely participates and does not envy, in the case when someone else wins.

If you like that regularity thing, then why not buy $5 worth BTC every day or spend lottery ticket cost on a Bitcoin. I have also read stories when people regularly buy lottery tickets and even select same number for years, and finally win a jackpot. Even though such strategy is real and each purchased lottery ticket makes people one tiny step close to jackpot, it might turn that one life wont be enough to finally await when statistically a person wins.

True. But in my post, I supported the idea of charity, although I understand that the OP was simply talking about a regular lottery. The question was also whether people would participate again by buying lottery tickets, already having experience of winning. Here it is reasonable to answer, of course, they will, from the idea that "there is no such thing as too much money." But those who do not win can reassure themselves that they did a good deed for someone.

Speaking about myself, I will buy tickets regularly, provided that I win once Grin. Yes, people are selfish, and firstly, the first thought will be personal gain, but helping others can act as a "balm."

Buying bitcoins here does not look like a big and quick win. Investing and the lottery are different things for me.

Nope.
My goal has been met and I was able to make myself rich with those lotto tickets so I'll choose to stop. That's the end game for me and I think that most of us have their own end games.
With that, it's very common to see winners to do as they wish to do but taking care of the winnings and the wealth that has been acquired, it's very hard in doing so be good with how you keep it.

Are you really sure? If this thread was created after the guy won only the first jackpot would you have said the same “my goal has been met”?

Like I said in my previous response, we tend to have different responses and how we actually behave when something eventually happens to us - at first there’s a strong belief in you that you’ll never do something’s as soon as you achieve something but after you finally achieve that thing you tend to change your mind and see things with a different perspective. The same thing applies here, after the first win or before you hit the first win you’ll be like “nah, I’m not doing again since that will be enough for me” but after you finally hit your first jackpot the thought of  “$50 won’t really hurt me if I spend if from my $1.5M on lottery tickets” and with that you’ll continue buying tickets.

It’s just my personal opinion by the way.

There are lucky people, however, as I understand it, this person has been playing Lotto regularly for years. We don't know how many tickets he has already bought during this time. At least that explains the luck. I would be much more surprised if a person bought a ticket for the first time in his life and all 6 digits would match. That would be really incredible luck. Although winning big prizes twice, is also a great success.

Well I think if I where him I would rather stop and focus on investing the money in business since he was able to won twice because going for another lottery ticket can result losses at last, so for me I think the luck that he had in the first and second winning is a enough for him to Establish himself very well and get away with anything lottery ticket. Because I don't see any reason why one would won a huge amount of money like he did and you still want to continue trying more luck, for me the best is to stay clear from it and set a good plan for future.

Winning lottery usually happened only once in a life but this person is different because he can win the lottery twice even within 3 years he can increasing his wealth and this person too has good skill to managed his financial because while won the lottery he didn't spend it to unnecessary things even he has a plan to invest at real estate or stock which this is good moved because this kind of investment option is a good investment for long term and good too for the future and about OP question if i were him would i continue to buy the the lotto even though i have won it twice then certainly yes that i will do that because not impossible if i continue to buy lotto i will gets my 3rd winning and the possibility is certainly always open even if it is small

He is indeed a very lucky person who has won such a huge amount of money from gambling, and he has used that money properly. I have played lots of lotteries in the past but my winning story was less. Many people in my country made a lot of money just by winning. I've played with it a few times but I've always earned a small reward. Actually to win big money from lottery you have to go to the list of the best lucky ones but it is unknown to everyone. But we always want to stay with this bet because it is unknown when i will get the big prize.
Can you control the lottery game to win yourself and make a lot of money? Each player cannot do anything that has been made by the gambling owner, but there are still many people who stay there hoping to make a lot of money from gambling. If I had great luck like that, of course I wouldn't buy and wouldn't expect to win a second time again. I will make the best use of my gift and use it properly. I will increase my sources of income so that it can increase more than before.
