I'm copying this interesting story as it is:
A Calgary man just won $5M in the Oct. 9 Lotto 6/49 Classic draw— three years after bagging $1M in 2021. After buying a house and car last time, he’s now planning to invest in real estate, stocks, and bonds. He’s also eyeing a trip overseas to visit family.

Talk about getting rich quick twice
A very lucky and very responsible person.
If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?

As seen on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/savetoinvest/p/DD4cD-fiTj0/

Good to read that he already know on where he will put his money.

But until there's no action made everything will be just a plan. He take priority their travel and to bad for that guy is he enjoy this money wasting activity since provably that there would be no return to get with that and they are just wasting their money for not useful things.

So hopefully those winners like him will take action immediately to invest their money on useful things so that they will not encounter the same issue happened to some winners which they get broke because they mismanaged their money.

For real men! I have a lot of uncle and gramps that keep betting on lottery even the small time lottery that is illegal in my country even though they are not winning anything. I think they can already build their own house if they just save all their bets ever since they start betting on lottery.

It’s very hard to stop a lottery fan once they are already hooked since the reward is massive while the amount of bets they are spending on a single ticket is just small and manageable with their salary.

I do place bet on lottery whenever the jackpot price is already 9 digit just to test my luck.

You can’t take that away from them.. it’s like their version of comfort food. Saying “What if I hadn’t spent money on lottery tickets?” is like wondering how much you could save if you stopped eating. Life’s meant to be enjoyed, and for many older people, the lottery offers that spark of hope that their lives could change overnight. As long as they’re betting a reasonable amount, maybe less than a dollar a day, there’s really no harm in it. It’s far better than becoming a compulsive gambler.

For some, playing the lottery becomes a part of their daily routine, a small ritual that inspires them. They place their bets, go about their day, and later enjoy the moment of checking results on TV. If they win, great; if not, the routine continues.

Winning the lottery is purely luck. Although we think that winning is still possible but we never know when that happens again.
i bet people are going to start thinking that he has some kind of strategy or secret and people are going to start asking him constantly about it but in reality no one can cheat lottery and it is all luck what can he do if it is luck that is chasing him

So if I ever get the chance to win the jackpot, I wouldn’t think about winning again or gambling anymore. Instead, I’d focus on learning how to manage the money wisely to make sure that it doesn’t go away from my hands.
thankfully that is exactly what he did and what he will be doing in the future it does seem like he is as smart as he is lucky which two of the best things you could be in the world in my opinion being able to make use of opportunities that are presented to you will certainly secure you success

This is one lucky guy... but he is not the first or the last who won some big lottery prize more than once. Somehow I am sure that some people will never stop playing the lottery, once they start playing it regularly it's their weekly entertainment... some people never win anything but they are still playing, so those who win for sure have more incentive to continue playing.

Some people really like to play the lottery, there's something in watching those balls get out and waiting for your numbers. I am not a big fan, I never won anything by playing lottery, but if it's the other way around I would probably play it more regularly, especially if I had some really big wins. Why stop when it's going so well?

congrats to him, the fact that winning a lottery once is extremely low, winning it twice is impressive. but I am curious, I wonder how much tax is taken from it.

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?

That is one lucky guy, winning the jackpot twice in a lifetime, uncountable Lotto players never get that lucky even once in their lifetime, talk less of twice. If I were him I'll continue to play the lottery, even if I don't win again, so far I'm using amount that I can afford to loose. It was the repeated play that gave him the win twice so if he goes further to win big the third time we'd have to congratulate him again because it's one in a million that can get that lucky. I'm especially happy for him because he didn't lavish his first win and he's planning to invest a part of the second win, this is what big winners should do, instead of lavishing the huge wins.

It is more profitable to buy bitcoin by doing DCA with that money.

Nice advice! Of course, since we’re in crypto, it makes sense to recommend what’s proven to be profitable.

However, if I were that winner, I wouldn’t focus solely on one investment, especially Bitcoin, which is still a high-risk asset. Diversifying is what should I do. Going into real estate is a smart move, as land typically appreciates over time and is a very stable investment. But like I mentioned, it shouldn’t stop there.

Adding investments that generate regular income (daily or monthly) can help grow the lottery winnings further.

What is certain is that people's ways of thinking and views are different, it is human nature that if they win a large amount in the lottery, they will buy and continue to gamble, even though they experience large winnings, there are also people who once win, stop gambling and so on, such as WhichI said above.

But if it were me personally, of course I would also continue to do the same thing, placing fixed lottery bets, even if I win a large amount, in essence I will leave the money to gamble again, regardless of whether I win or lose in the next episode.

At least I don't buy lottery tickets when I win, maybe I will gamble and buy tickets after a week or two, I will enjoy the winnings first.

I know people who have won several lottery prizes, not that amount but juicy amounts, albeit smaller. But the fact is that they spend a lot of money on the lottery every week. I would like to be able to add up everything they have spent on the lottery in their lives and subtract the prizes, and see what comes out.

Obviously it's not statistically impossible for someone to have won a lot of money on net from the lottery but it's highly unlikely, and often what happens is that if you add up what a person has spent on the lottery in their lifetime is more than the prizes they've received, so the net result is negative.

It is more profitable to buy bitcoin by doing DCA with that money.

Besides, hearing stories from people who lost all their winnings because they continued gambling is a lesson that we need to think about. If we don’t change that mindset, we surely end up with the same sad story.

I would buy lottery tickets regularly. I like reading such stories because they motivate people to participate in lotteries. Some lotteries are held for charity when part of the money is given to the winner, and the rest is spent on helping those in need. Upon witnessing such tales of fortune and triumph, individuals are encouraged to take a chance and reap double benefits. Someone will help, which is important for society, and someone will also win, receiving a prize. You don’t always need to think about the material side, or experiencing selfish feelings; I think the win will always go to the one who sincerely participates and does not envy, in the case when someone else wins.

Of course. At that point where lottery has changed your life for the better and made you able to afford houses and cars what is a little lottery ticket going to do? As long as you do not get obsessed trying to replicate that win, I see nothing wrong with keeping this "tradition" of buying lottery tickets. Especially that he seems to be really lucky with it. I am pleasantly surprised because I do not think I have ever seen someone hit the lottery twice!

Many people see that winning a lottery has a chance of 1 in a million but this man did it twice and most importantly he is spending his winnings on the right places.

No defintely not. I will not waste any dime on gambling and lotto is one of the worst example for gambling activities.
I am even surprised that he continues to play... this can lead to the worst gambbling addiction if not to lost all.
Even if he win twice and collected a nice jackpot, money management can't rely only in luck Roll Eyes also investing free money doesn't have a standard return...

In a story like this which is one of the stories of other people's luck, honestly I don't always think about what I would do if I got lucky like him. But I always have thoughts about how much money they spent before getting that luck.
Even though it was really luck, I believe no casino wants to go bankrupt and of course they have spent a lot of money before getting that luck.

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
And regarding this question I will answer that I will use the money to build a big successful business and continue to buy lottery tickets with the same amount as before getting that luck. But it should be noted that I do all this because for me gambling is just an entertainment that can be used while testing luck.

Some people have been hit by lightning twice in their lifetimes, this guy had the opposite form of luck. The odds of making such huge wins are always tiny, but there is that expression "you have to be in it to win it" which applies here, some people never leave the house and you're less likely to hear about those people winning big - compared to the massive celebration that would surround you in a real world casino. I'm glad that this person invested their money wisely and spread out the risk in other assets, because sometimes such a big win results in people throwing it all back into the casino within a short space of time. I'm guessing from such large wins that this person might play higher than average stakes as well.

$50 million is such a huge amount of winning that can get anyone tied to what gives them such an amount of winning,

Just to correct you, it’s not $50 million - it’s $5 million. Still, that’s a huge amount of money, and winning it for the second time is incredible luck. Lottery isn’t for everyone, though, since less than 1% of all bettors ever get lucky enough to win a million dollars. To hit it twice? That’s what you call extreme luck!
Thanks the error in figures have been corrected, the gambler must be a smart guy because In his last win the guy is taking steps to building his future and although even though the first winning went on luxury now he can start real estate, this is quite a good utilization of such unexpected luck and becoming rich through the lottery and he must be one hell of a lucky guy to win twice is somewhat a big one for the guy and hoping he spend wisely going forward and shouldn't take this winning to mean some form of consistent skill or approach that can make him stake higher amounts when buying the next lottery tickets.

It is $5 million.
Thanks man!

Congratulations to him for such an achievement, maybe he is a very lucky person who won the tickets twice and got a lot of money from this lottery. I read in an article in November that the person who won the $5 million tickets was named Osman Adam. He has decided to invest now, maybe it will be the right decision for him.

https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/calgary-man-wins-5-million-lottery-prize-three-years-after-winning-1-million

To be honest, I have never won the tickets, so maybe lottery is not for everyone. If I had got such a large amount of money at once like that person, I would have tried to establish a very good business with that money and try to live comfortably.  Cheesy

I might still buy lotto tickets just like he did. But I would consider computing the amount that I will be spending so that it won't affect the money that I want to save and spend for myself and my family.
It's not wrong because that's where the money came from and asking for one more win is not like you are trying to take advantage of them, you are risking your money too so it's just fair.
Do remember, once a person starts to taste that sweet win, he will always come back for more. That's just what he did.
