If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
Maybe every now and then but I'll be focused on my assets and properties by that time. I know that it won't lose them quickly even if I continue to buy lottery tickets. But I've known lottery big ticket winners that keeps on doing it as if it's already a passion for them. They cannot stop doing it because for them it's already part of their lives. That's why even after winning jackpots after jackpots, they'll keep on coming back because that's what they have chosen to do and used to it. But for me, I'd do it sometimes.

If I was lucky enough to win the lottery I wouldn't keep buying lottery tickets because I don't believe I would get that lucky twice. The number of people who buy lottery tickets is very large and a ticket has many numbers, so getting that number right is a big stroke of luck. I wouldn't keep buying tickets while I was lucky enough to win once. I would be more focused on using the money I won to do business in the real world.
The guy in this story is smart because from the discussion you will see that he already started a real estate business since his first winning was used to set up his home and car which for me is a necessary need in this modern middle-class society and to sustain that future the lucky lottery winner has started a project that has long term advantages. After all, real estate is a good sector to via into in this era and time.

I don’t know till it happens to me - most of the times we tend to answer questions differently from when we actually experience that thing - so there’s a possibility that my response in this thread will be different from what I’ll do in reality when it actually happens to me, and the same goes for most of the members here - some might tell you “why not? I’ll keep buying as long as I don’t go overboard and buy more than what I can afford to lose” while some will come up with the “nah! I’ll call it a quit and use the money to invest because I don’t know if I’ll be lucky enough to hit the third win” but what they’ll do in reality is quite different from what they’ve written down.

He is indeed a very lucky person who has won such a huge amount of money from gambling, and he has used that money properly. I have played lots of lotteries in the past but my winning story was less. Many people in my country made a lot of money just by winning. I've played with it a few times but I've always earned a small reward. Actually to win big money from lottery you have to go to the list of the best lucky ones but it is unknown to everyone. But we always want to stay with this bet because it is unknown when i will get the big prize.

That's a huge win and very lucky. I'm actually betting on lotto but until now no luck.

If I were him why would I keep buying lotto ticket if I already won a huge amount.
The win amount should invest in business if he wants to make more profit. His idea is also good but business is the best to sustain your needs.
Well, there’s no problem with buying lottery ticket as long as you only spend an amount that you are comfortable to lose. So I would definitely keep buying more tickets. If I’ve made it twice already, then there’s chances for another one, as long as luck is there. The important thing here is, you don’t just rely on luck, but you are also being wise in managing your funds and use them in those potential investments.

That was extra lucky. Hitting twice the jackpot prize, wow this is very rare. If I were on his shoe, I would not put an end to my luck but will continue to buy for lottery tickets hoping for the third round. Although I wouldn’t be totally dying for that to happen, but not bad if I try once more. At least, even if I’ll lose consistently, I wouldn’t consider it a complete loss, since I’m more than profitable compared to my acquired losses.

Congrats to him if it is true. There are people but very few people that can have this kind of luck.

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
If the man can win lottery two times, that means he will continue to buy ticket even if he use the money to establish a very good business. If I win $5 million lottery, I do not think I can buy lottery ticket any longer.

I concour to this, you know people's reasoning are different and I believe he'll feel he's been blessed with luck and would likely keep trying over and over despite being sensible enough to invest the money to other profitable areas, not everyone would be that reasonable enough, I heard cases of people who made money through that means but squandered it on unnecessary that didn't bring profits but took them back to square one. However the truth of the matter remains that the man made the best decision a reasonable person could think of, he didn't only invest in one area but diversified to other areas, if I were him I'll also include Bitcoin in my choice of investment and buy as much as possible with some portions of the money, just like you, I don't think I'll continue buying the tickets anyways, it's a choice anyways not like those who continue are wrong but i expect them to emulate what that man is planning on doing.

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?

Very interesting question. Well, I'm not sure if this is actually a case of addiction, like the threads we usually see, so I will reply to this particular one the way it is. TBH, I don't think I will be able to continue with buying more lotto tickets. The person who won $1M wasn't just lucky, but was extra lucky. The chance of winning a lotto can be very thin, let alone, winning it twice.

But on a second thought, it still depends on the the price of the lotto ticket. If the lotto ticket isn't that expensive, but looks price friendly, I might reconsider and continue with purchasing it. But if the ticket is quite expensive, then just count me out. The chances of winning a lotto ticket for three straight times is very thin, so I don't it's worth risking when it is expensive and requires continuous purchase for years.

I'm copying this interesting story as it is:
A Calgary man just won $5M in the Oct. 9 Lotto 6/49 Classic draw— three years after bagging $1M in 2021. After buying a house and car last time, he’s now planning to invest in real estate, stocks, and bonds. He’s also eyeing a trip overseas to visit family.

Talk about getting rich quick twice
A very lucky and very responsible person.
If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
The amount he won is a huge win. I think the person is extremely lucky and the man won such a huge amount of money because he is extremely lucky. In my gambling experience, I have never played lotto games so far, I have only bet on sports betting. But I really like the man's thinking/plan because he used all the money he won from his gambling for good. If I were him, I would definitely continue buying lotto tickets.

Talk about getting rich quick twice
That's some damn luck! Almost like getting struck by lightning twice in the same place.

A very lucky and very responsible person.
It is impossible not to agree with the luck of this person, but what does responsibility have to do with it?

If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets ?
To lose all his winnings? No way! If he was lucky twice, he certainly won't become a millionaire the 3rd time.

All gamblers fall into this trap: having won once, it seems as if only a series of wins awaits in the future.

Wow, he's really lucky! Winning a $5 million lottery is a life-changing event. What's even more impressive is that he took a wise step by making investments to generate returns. This way, he can plan his budget properly, segmenting his money for investments, vacations, and other expenses.

It's great that he's not using all his winnings to play the lottery again, which is a common mistake people make. Instead, he's being strategic with his investments. Of course, there's no guarantee he'll win again, but it's not bad to try his luck once more.

After budgeting his finances and using spare cash, I'd say it's worth taking another shot. Who knows, maybe his luck streak will continue!

I would buy lottery tickets regularly. I like reading such stories because they motivate people to participate in lotteries. Some lotteries are held for charity when part of the money is given to the winner, and the rest is spent on helping those in need. Upon witnessing such tales of fortune and triumph, individuals are encouraged to take a chance and reap double benefits. Someone will help, which is important for society, and someone will also win, receiving a prize. You don’t always need to think about the material side, or experiencing selfish feelings; I think the win will always go to the one who sincerely participates and does not envy, in the case when someone else wins.

If you like that regularity thing, then why not buy $5 worth BTC every day or spend lottery ticket cost on a Bitcoin. I have also read stories when people regularly buy lottery tickets and even select same number for years, and finally win a jackpot. Even though such strategy is real and each purchased lottery ticket makes people one tiny step close to jackpot, it might turn that one life wont be enough to finally await when statistically a person wins.

What interest me more is his ability to stay focused and responsible by judiciously distributing those monies won into different profitable investments that can bring him ROI in the future. About him stopping from buying more lottery tickets after this second win, I doubt he would want to do that after getting this second huge win, nevertheless, he just need not to let it get into his head.

I believe that guy must have tested money before winning this amount because it is only someone who has experienced money before that can have such sense of investment that he has because an average gambler wouldn't want to do a better investment since they will always think of gambling with more more hoping to be lucky again.
I wouldn't support him to stop buying more lottery tickets either because he may be in his lucky years and he can hit them again and again and again who knows, big congratulations to him and I wish him more lucky wins.

If I wanted to have that kind of luck, or a little bit, what happened to that person is a blessing because not everyone has that kind of luck, and if he did it like that I will continue playing for life, because that is the good luck that one has, if he has already won twice he may win again, the statistics support that kind of events.

Yes, and I became rich like him, I would buy my house, many say that houses are a liability, but there is nothing like having your own roof where nobody tells you anything or charges you rent, and having good health to be able to enjoy.

The news seems correct, there are different sites narrating this lucky guy story. I found it on Yahoo News Canada.
Osman Adam of Calgary has win 1 Million in 2021 and now he has won 5 Million in Oct 2024. Lottery tickets are not expensive for Osman Adam compared to reward he won. As he has won twice in the past he might continue buying tickets to try his luck in future. Apart from that since he has millions in his account, he must invest them wisely to generate passive income. There is an Indian man who won 50 million Indian Rupee worth of money in a game contest, got addicted to alcohol and went bankrupt.

What a jaw dropping win, congratulations to him on that double luck. This is rare and shows how extremely lucky he is because there are other persons like him who would have been buy same lotto tickets but haven't met their luck for a one time win ever how much more twice.

For real men! I have a lot of uncle and gramps that keep betting on lottery even the small time lottery that is illegal in my country even though they are not winning anything. I think they can already build their own house if they just save all their bets ever since they start betting on lottery.

It’s very hard to stop a lottery fan once they are already hooked since the reward is massive while the amount of bets they are spending on a single ticket is just small and manageable with their salary.

I do place bet on lottery whenever the jackpot price is already 9 digit just to test my luck.

You can’t take that away from them.. it’s like their version of comfort food. Saying “What if I hadn’t spent money on lottery tickets?” is like wondering how much you could save if you stopped eating. Life’s meant to be enjoyed, and for many older people, the lottery offers that spark of hope that their lives could change overnight. As long as they’re betting a reasonable amount, maybe less than a dollar a day, there’s really no harm in it. It’s far better than becoming a compulsive gambler.

For some, playing the lottery becomes a part of their daily routine, a small ritual that inspires them. They place their bets, go about their day, and later enjoy the moment of checking results on TV. If they win, great; if not, the routine continues.

That’s what I’m actually thinking since I didn’t bother making any comments on their life choices when it comes to gambling especially lottery events though they sometimes borrow money to my parents in an event that their salary is not enough for their monthly bills.

Nevertheless it’s very hard to change someone that already used to do what they believe is right by simply just clinging on the possibility of winning huge amount one day to make their life change in an instant which of course super rare to happened.

Good to read that he already know on where he will put his money.

But until there's no action made everything will be just a plan.
Well he already bought a house a car so you know he is a man of his word because he has already done something with his first winnings.
Quote
He take priority their travel and to bad for that guy is he enjoy this money wasting activity since provably that there would be no return to get with that and they are just wasting their money for not useful things.
Is traveling to see family and enjoy life not important? It seems like he has already done a lot and not that struggling anymore so why should he not enjoy the joys of life and share it to his family? We should also enjoy life from time to time we only live once and our lives are short and unpredictable

Talk about getting rich quick twice
A very lucky and very responsible person.
If you were in his shoes, would you continue buying the lotto tickets

I'm already satisfied with my luck, and I will just concentrate on creating residual income by creating my portfolio or set up business that I can manage for profit. The lottery is very hard to win and you have to be extremely lucky to hit it twice so I will not hope that it will hit again, but I will continue to buy tickets just for the fun of it, especially here in our country, where a portion of the profit will go to the health sector of our country.
