Personally, I don't see a problem with that. If donors want, I can create a dedicated page to gather this information.

Do you want me to create it?

Well, it's not that I want to or not but I recommend it. I think it's better for donors to decide whether they want to appear or not and I also think it can stimulate donations in some way. If you decide to do so, you have several options, for example, on loyce.club donors are listed (some anonymously) but not the amounts while on bpip.org the amounts are.

Some people prefer to be reflected even if it's a bit silly because we are just nicknames.

What I also believe is that whether you do or not, it will be more normal to have received more donations at the beginning than over time.

I would recommend a section of sponsors, donations or something like that,  because maybe it will stimulate competition to see who donates the most, as happened to me with another project, and although some people don't care, others like to see themselves on the site if they have made a donation (see for example the donations section of loyce.club, where some donors are listed with their nickname but others were anonymous).

Yeah I looked at my imgur account and I posted over 1000 photos here.

I will end up 🆙 with hundreds or more using talk img.

It is good that more people stepped up. Hoping this projects lasts over the next decade or more.

Thanks OP, this service has been really helpful, I would donate in the future if I get extra funds to spare.

I have been giving 0.001 btc a month to talk image and will now be able to do that until 2024 if not longer.

I post plenty of photos on bitcointalk . we as a forum post many photos so talk image needs support.

Just for the record, just yesterday I sent a donation of that amount. It is the only one I have made to this site but I have also supported the other projects related to bitcointalk.

I see that the project has raised just over 0.04 so far.

Disregard community opinions; what matters most is you generating income. Just Kidding! Kudos to Duelbits for sponsoring your website. No third party service in that campaign right?
Anyway, Regardless of whether it is a project for the Bitcointalk Community knowing that it involves cryptocurrency audience will Google AdSense allow you to use their service and monetize your website?

If not, I would recommend Coinzilla instead of Google AdSense, since TalkImg.com's audience is more about cryptocurrency.

Thanks for the sugestion.

As I mentioned, I'm not trying to compete with other image hosting services. I want to present something different, and in this case with the aim of serving the users of this forum. In addition, I want to avoid having advertising systems that eventually collect information from visitors, as is the case with AdSense and similar ones. The minimum that I will accept as viable are reference links.

Between community donations and potential sponsorships, I believe I can keep the project running and still get a return for my work.

Fortunately, I have been receiving that support. Which I really appreciate!

Good going mate. I think I should make habit of using your service. For now I have bookmarked the website and will slowly keep using your services only. I was wondering why there are no google ads? I think you want to keep your website clean or have you not thought about it.
The donation is really nice thing from people, but I hope you can also go ahead of it and apply for Google Adsense. You will be able to get good revenue for yourself and for the future development of website.
Hope so we will see your website search engine optimized soon! Next time I put upload image it should be TalkImg coming up in the search results.  Cheesy
To the moon mate!
This is a project for the BitcoinTalk community. I trusted that the community will help me keep the project on the air, as it has done so far. I'm not going to use systems like Google Adsense, because that would just create "noise" on the site, and I don't want to. Not to mention the possible collection of information, which I don't want either.
But, I am available to have publicity coming from the forum, similar to what happens with subscription campaigns. By the way, this is already happening, this time with the sponsorship of Duelbits, which will soon have a new banner on the site.

Wow, this is amazing. I think that around 4K visits on your website means that your website is very popular, I would say these are good numbers, congrats! Bandwidth is pretty high, just wondering, is your website used outside of bitcointalk? Is it allowed or do you block it?

The site is configured so that images only work on the forum - Bitcointalk. This does not mean that it may be possible to use it on other sites, but if you do so you run the risk of sooner or later it may stop working.

In this sense, 98% of the bandwidth comes from the forum. Which makes perfect sense, because this was designed for the forum.  Wink

I can do it manually and do sometimes but built-in compression is a better idea.

how it would be when talkimg.com automatically compress big images (which are more than 2.5mb) into under 2.5mb limit? it's just an idea which is solving a problem of wasting time of users.

I will have some news about this soon. Wink

is it a right idea to add a feature of automatically compressing big images to 2.5mb limit? like some images are bigger than 2.5mb and I need to go to third part websites to compress that image, which waste so much time,

 Statistics August 2023____________________
The month of August was a little calmer compared to the previous ones - but at a good pace, perhaps because many people usually go on vacation at this time.
Also this month there has been no wave of new entries, with users uploading large batches of images to the service. I therefore take this opportunity to remind you that you can have access to all the images that each user posts, using the database provided by @LoyceV here... Or use the script created by @TryNinja to transfer your photos to TalkImg.

Here are the numbers for the month and totals:

Number of uploads in the month:
 5.732 (-6.291 last month)

 Total disk space occupied:
 13GB (+2 last month)

Number of visits to the talkimg.com website in the month: 3.874 (-572 last month)
Bandwidth in the month: 336GB (= last month)

Thanks for your support.

As LoyceV commented, the most efficient systems that exist are native to PHP, which is GD or ImageMagick. They do their job well, but for those who like to see images always with quality - like me, I'm always a little reluctant to use these tools. Not to mention, that security is more exposed.

But I'm going to study the possibility of having an additional platform that performs these conversions and then sends the image to TalkImg. Wink
Lossless image compression is not a bad option to be honest. It will significantly decrease the size and quality won't be significantly affected. I think you can add it as an optional service and some people like me will use that option when they have to upload a screenshot or snap. I can do it manually and do sometimes but built-in compression is a better idea.

Just popping into the thread to say great service. Am a bit late to the recent changes regarding imgur etc but am glad to see such a friendly alternative for the forum. I did try imgbb recently as alternative but actually found it very inconvenient for getting the image url or bb code, whereas talkimg actually seems a lot easier with no delay on speed either, it's no wonder so many people approve.

Just a quick question what's the advantage of having an account?  Can't I just upload and use it without an account anyway?

After what has been said, which is correct - thanks for the help guys. If you want an account, just send me a PM.  Wink
Do I need to provide any kind of email address for an account?

No! Just send a PM asking for an account.

It will have your username, the same as the one on the forum, and a fictitious email that you can later change if you want.

Other than what was previously said, I think you can also enable dark theme that is only available for registered accounts, unless something was changed recently.
You can upload images without account and it will fork just fine if you are posting images only on bitcointalk forum.

You can delete your images and organize them through different albums. Also, you can have your own API key which is useful when using screenshot softwares (like ShareX).
