As long as I can always have light I am okay with others that want dark.

I have older eyes and dark screens are terrible for me.

So on the front page which is now dark the donations amounts are next to invisible to me.

And I do not see a switch for light.

That's more of a contrast problem than a dark problem, it's a gray font on a gray background. Your monitor quality can make a large difference too: on my laptop I have to adjust my viewing angle to see it, on my monitor I can read everything.

I was thinking of doing the test for a week, but I think it makes more sense to go back to the previous color pattern, as it allows for a better experience for everyone.

Apologies to anyone who likes the dark theme.

I'll try to dedicate a little more time to the layout of the site, and create a more balanced color pattern for everyone. Thank you for your patience.

I would prefer main theme to be dark.
It's fine to login and use it like that, but I am not always logged in TalkImg, or I am using a different device.

~~

I see it now after you told me in upper right corner, but I never noticed it before.
Maybe move it to some better position, or change size and rename it to something better.

For everyone to test, as the default theme switch to dark.
Let's test for a week. I will be waiting for your feedbacks.

As for that button, I'll think about how to adjust it to be more predictable.  Wink

Count me fully on board with the transition to dark mode! The combination of orange and dark gray is truly a striking match and it looks perfect from my end. I would not change a thing.

Simple fix is to add different color for reset box, maybe orange to match the color of TalkImg logo.
You could also play with moving the button in diffeent positions, more on left side, or no top bar.

As the site grows, I'd expect Google to get even "smarter" and no longer correct "talkimg" to "talking." Maybe we're a far way off from that, but we'll get there eventually  Wink

A question for the whole community: would you prefer a dark theme?

Whenever the upload ends, the "Reset" button is available. Do you think it is not clear enough? Maybe rename that button. What do you think?

I don't need it. I often see people ask for a dark mode, is that because of sloppy brightness control on their screen? Phones by default nowadays are too bright, and automatic adjustment doesn't work well (at least for the last 2 phones I've had). So that means I manually adjust the brightness on several screens a few times per day, but I never use a dark mode.

To be totally honest, it's hard to convince to simply make the switch until one actually experiences it.

Dark themes don't trigger as much of the light senses in our eyes since we're viewing more dark areas over light(er) texts and elements, not to mention having spent lots of our times on the screen if it's part of your job. Done well and you'd be pleasantly surprised how good things look and become more immersive, with some degrees of battery saving on your mobile devices. Even helps with sleeping as well.

About the brightness control, that's just one thing but not it's not optimized on all devices. The opposite happens on one of my phones and I've to always adjust the slider to be brighter, only for it to revert mere seconds later.

Give it a try for one week (e.g. YouTube), I might see you on the dark side  Cheesy

EDIT: Forgot to add, reduces the burn-in screen effects

A question for the whole community: would you prefer a dark theme?

Yes, a dark mode is always welcome from my point of view.  Smiley

If all sites offered a dark mode, I wouldn't have to use a shady plugin in my browser to make all the sites I visit dark.
I spend far too much time in front of my screen, and I'm too prone to migraines to just turn down the brightness of my screen, that wouldn't be enough (and not all laptops offer night shift unfortunately).

Definitely. Easier on the eyes.

By chance this is already possible for those who have an account. You can choose your preferred color theme.

A question for the whole community: would you prefer a dark theme?
I think it's ok. perhaps a button to toggle between the 2 themes for those who prefer either of the themes. I actually didn't mind about the current theme because part of the page is already dark.

I also wonder what happens if one uploads a dark imagelike I sometimes do, will after upload preview page be clear enough?

Adding simple dark theme switch would be nice, but this is nothing urgent, and maybe it's better to try and solve issues for Tor browser.

and maybe it's better to try and solve issues for Tor browser.

This part is being more complicated, because it involves some server issues, which complicate it a bit.

Who, using To, can tell me all the disturbances he has encountered?
I want to see if I try to list everything, to review everything again. I appreciate help.

Maybe one small suggestion for update is adding navigation buttons, like forward, back, and redirection to home page after previous upload is completed, maybe with asking a simple question like this:
- Would you like to upload another image or close page?

Whenever the upload ends, the "Reset" button is available. Do you think it is not clear enough? Maybe rename that button. What do you think?

The problem is it doesn't prompt me to upload a new image, it just shows a dropdown list, try to upload an image and then click the Upload, that's what I'm talking about. I don't really mind if you don't change it and I think the reset is just fine. I shouldn't complain that much considering I use it for free.

Be my guest! I like to hear the opinions of users, and when possible improve their experience.

But, now I don't understand the point you want to highlight.  Huh Can you try to explain again, please?
I think it's not worth your salt solving the issue (I don't think it's an issue), it's just an individual ick so I don't think I would elaborate it more. I can use it just fine already is what I'm trying to say and complaining about something minute is kind of a waste of time for the two of us. Thanks for the signature campaign link though.

Is this some SEO issue?

I tried just now and it showed another result "talking":

<...>
if you click "Search instead for talkimg " it will show talkimg in the first result

It's not an SEO issue; that's just Google trying to be "smart." Since the word "talkimg" is very similar to "talking," Google treats it as a typo and prioritizes results related to "talking" first. That's why you get the "Search instead for talkimg" suggestion below.

To work around this, you can put "Talkimg" (with quotes) in the search, and it will display the correct results from the get-go.

Shouldn't the Upload and Reset button function as the same thing because when I finished uploading one image, I try to press upload but it doesn't prompt me to the upload function, I always have to press the Reset. Anyways, it's a minor inconvenience for me only so I don't mind that it's changed but I just want to say something about it and let people be aware of it.

In reality, they are different functions.

The upload button opens the upload tab, which after uploading the image displays the image data.
To be able to send a new image, you have to re-load this tab, that's why there is the reset.

Imagine that the "upload" button opens a new page, where everything is then managed.

Maybe the best thing was to change the name of the "reset" button? What do you guys think?

I don't really mind if you don't change it and I think the reset is just fine. I shouldn't complain that much considering I use it for free.

I think that's how it should work. When you upload one image (or several at once), your next step is to select and copy the embed codes that you'll use on the forum. Now, imagine that you forget to copy the codes and accidentally click somewhere on the website, closing the upload tab. You'd have no way to go back (unless you're logged in), and you'd have to upload the same image again. That's why the Upload button was designed to show you the codes for the already uploaded image again.

If you want to upload new images, you don't have to click on "RESET"; instead, you can simply click on the TALK[img] logo or refresh the website. This will start a new session, and the Upload button will revert to its primary functionality again.

Hello @Joker_josue, I just notice that searching talkimg on google for the first time doesn’t gave the exact website as result on seach. It happened to me when I try to search talkimg on my new device. I check carefully the url so I’m sure it’s correct. The only time I manage to search the website is when I visit by using the forum links that you provide on this ann thread.

Is this some SEO issue?

This is yet another good reason to use DuckDuckGo instead of Google. It respects your privacy and will give you results without modifying your search. (and if you need google results, just add " !g" at the end of your search for example, the !Bang system is great if you have this search engine as your default search engine)
