Well, I actually really like traveling slowly and long term. Last time I spent 8 months, doesn’t mean I’ll do that again but I just go with the flow so I never know. Will probably just buy a new laptop at some point, just avoiding that for now since I usually go with the higher ends and don’t feel like spending $1k+ to fix a couple lines of code.

wow I haven't noticed that it was a telegram bot that could help you to track things like if somebody quote you and stuff like that. this forum really has smart and high tech people.

If there's one thing I've learned while traveling: the less you bring, the less you have to worry about In your scenario, I'd pick up a $100 laptop at the local Craigslist (although this might be difficult if you're in, say, Antarctica). All I'd look for is an SSD, 8 GB RAM, working battery and low-power CPU. Install your favourite Linux distribution, encrypt it, and use it without worrying too much about breaking or losing it on your travels. Then buy the $1k+ laptop when you settle down somewhere long-term.I miss the days I could travel for months!

If you like long-term and slow traveling, you might consider carrying your laptop. Or maybe it doesn't give you a proper vacation feel if you work on your laptop Haha, just kidding. But I cannot imagine traveling for eight months. I traveled for ten days last December and was already missing my friends and family. Ocean and mountains always attract me. But I am bad at hiking because of my weight.

Yes. You got it correctly. I received a notification for X merits correctly and the same notification again. This thing happened before, and we adjusted it. I do not see any other reports here. Probably people do not care about it, or maybe they did not crosscheck whether they received the merits. Quote

Once again, I received a notification of merit that I received yesterday. This happened exactly 5:59 AM Local time here, which is 11:59 PM UTC. I checked the notification twice and then checked the forum. Then I realized it was a glitch notification that I had received twice, and my merit count was also affected.
Probably TryNinja started doing something? Or are you still on Vacation and have yet to buy a new laptop? We have to use the famous /setmerit command again.

I come to know about this bot and trying it for the first time. I found it very easy to configure and interactive too. My motive is to get a notification whenever anyone posts in the Pakistan local thread, i get a notification. I hope it will work that way.
Also, i have configured it for merits and mentions.
So, this is the first time you use this bot?. I don't know the reason why you didn't use this bot when it existed for quite some time already and I have been using it since. Since there's no board for Pakistan like the others but there's a board where there's a pinned thread for other countries that doesn't have their own official board in the forum. Actually, you can track the thread using the bot.Also, i have configured it for merits and mentions.
First, go to other languages/locations located near the bottom of the forum. Second, open the Pakistan thread and copy the link which is this, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pakistan-232519. Third, go to your telegram and open the bot. Fourth, type /menu or you can just click it then open tracked topics. Fifth, click the "Add New" and then it will ask you the url of the thread and paste the link.

I could code something to manually check all profiles (last time I checked it was only 500+ users) and correct their merit count
It's still not perfect: the Merit count in a profile doesn't instantly update after receiving Merit. Testing this earned me a "Sorry, you have been blocked" from Cloudflare when using Shift-reload a couple of timse. July 20, 2023, 09:56:38 AM

TryNinja seems to work on the telegram bot to improve it daily constantly. A few weeks ago, I noticed that each notification showed a new icon or emoji, whatever you say—different icons for merits and mentions. Yesterday I noticed another improvement.
Before this, we had to search for the posts that were deleted. Some users count their posts when they write posts for signature campaign requirements. I write more than 50 posts a week, so it's not for me. But, this will be useful for everyone.
