My soul was going to visit the Jannah haha, It was a hard hit on my heart at once then I realized in a fraction of a second its April's first day, and people do such silly things and I'm too young to die, everyone has to but I expect from Allah live at least 60, hehe maybe more who knows. Is the notifier bot malfunctioning? What did i just see? Permanently banned? I couldn’t open my telegram notification i thought it malfunctioned or something. I was so confused and was trembling as i got the notification, was peacefully watching Naruto but i had to close it the. I remembered it’s April 1st. This pranks are getting too expensive someone could get an heart attack Lol

Wow! You got me there for a minute, I’m not going to lie.
I wasn’t expecting a typical April Fool notification from telegram and more so, I was catching the final minutes of a NBA game between Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls on my mobile, so I couldn’t process what the notification was about, and pretty much fell for it 😶

I guess that if an event gets too big, like the BCA or the pizza contest, a notification wouldn’t be so bad, but actually it would be impossibile for any active user not to be aware of this, so the very act of notification would be useless.
Maybe you could add an option of being notified about these "social events": I would be an happy user of this feature!

Some members do not regularly visit the Meta section, where such big things are often started and surely there is a significant number of those who are not informed about such contests and events.
@TryNinja This can be useful if you have time to maintain the activity, but if you implement something similar, be sure to leave the possibility for each user to turn this type of notification on or off. It must be optional.

This made me think... what if I manually send notifications about big yearly events to the users using my telegram notification bot (~1000 users)?
For exemple, icopress' yearly Bitcointalk Community Awards, the Bitcoin Pizza competition etc...
I could send a one time survey asking if they want to know about these big events (which happens like 3-4 times per year, nothing too spammy).
But then, which ones are "worthy" a notification? Maybe you want to know about the yearly community awards but not about a prominient member leaving the forum (because you might not care, etc...).
