she is up against the 3rd seed Samsonova. I dont know either of the two players,
it will be a nice payout if Wagner wins though.

I watched the Murray v Hurkacz match last night, that was some battle, it went to 3 sets
but Murray (who I didnt bet on) won in the end. I had Hurkacz to win but he made too
many unforced errors and looked like his forehand wasnt working as normal.

I am keeping an eye on both the matches in Vienna and in St.Petersberg. I had wins yesterday
with Bublik, Alcaraz and Korda.

Today I have bets on Zverev and Tiafoe in Vienna (so far). Imight put a few more on later,
there are some big names in action, Felix AA, Ruud v Harris, Norrie v Fucsovics,
Tsitsipas v Dimitrov.

Anyway Kontaveit won the final today even though she was loosing throughout wast majority of the match.

I was going to put a wager on Kontaveit but I've inadvertently clicked on her opponent in their match in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

no one player should be bigger than the tournament itself.

There shouldn't be one player who is bigger than the tournament, but unfortunately there is. Nadal and Federer are on the way out. Djokovic is by far the biggest draw in men's tennis, the only superstar left at the top... and there is also his record in Australia to consider, winning it year after year after year. If Djokovic wasn't allowed to compete, then whoever won the title, everyone would be saying that Djokovic would have won if he'd been there... the whole thing would be a joke. So I think their hands are tied really, they have to accommodate him. But to be honest, regardless of what the AO officials want, I'm surprised the government has allowed it.

Very important news has just leaked from Australia.
''Per email sent to WTA players just now, Tennis Australia has told WTA PC  that fully vaccinated players won’t be required to quarantine or bubble at all.
Unvaccinated players will be allowed to enter, TA tells WTA, but must do 14 days of hotel quarantine.''

Source: https://twitter.com/BenRothenberg/status/1452352307316895747/
So, although it has been said for a long time that it will not be possible for unvaccinated players  to perform at this GS, a compromise has obviously been reached on this issue.
I wonder if this decision was made due to public pressure and to allow Djokovic to perform, given that his negative attitude towards vaccination is well known.
What do you think?
By the way, the authorities in Australia are very strict when it comes to vaccinations, but here they obviously had to change their position.
I think this is more of a vaccination discussion than anything else but I do feel
that they have to accomodate the top seed and world #1. On vaccinations
they are not compulsory in the Australia but obviously the AO have their own
requirements.
In the bigger picture they have to protect the overall competition and make sure
firstly that it ia safe for people and secondly to ensure the competition can run
its course, no one player should be bigger than the tournament itself.

I don't know why they changed the rules but yes maybe bringing Djokovic and the public pressure could be a viable reason for why they did so. After all, if Djokovic plays in the tournament, it's a win for the business side of the game right? I'm quite surprised at the decision, to be honest as Australia is known to strictly follow the COVID-19 rules and regulations. I just hope that this decision doesn't backfire and hope no one gets affected by COVID.

Sinner took the title in the Antwerp Open, it was so clinical that the score was lopsided, not even Over in this match, 6-2, 6-2. Good win by Sinner against a tough Schwartzman but Sinner was playing perfect in this tournament.

Now we go to Vienna Open, lot of good matches already.

Carreno-Busta vs Basilashvili, - I will go Under 22.5 @1.83 for a start.

The most interesting match for me is Murray vs Hurkacz. Murray has been performing good tennis lately so let's see if he still has the momentum in this tournament. Why go under though between Busta and Basilashvili? Basilashvili is also playing exceptional, for me this will be over.

As for the Sinner win, not surprised, as others have said, he really has improved a lot and just about time for him to at least break into the top 10.

As I have predicted, it will be Sinner on this one. And he seems that he has improved a lot in terms of mental toughness and tennis IQ. He knows how to read his opponents strengths and weaknesses and turn it into points. Congrats to those who bet on him.

I also had Sinner to win this.
I watched rhe match and he looked super focussed. There were some super rallies
but Sinner always had that winning shot with power and angles.

Swartzman played a good game and actually didnt do much wrong, sinner was just
sublime. It looks like he has progressed a lot in the last 2 or 3 months.

Good chance that it ends in 2 with the form Basilashvili is in. I will skip just out of respect for PCB. You just never know with that dude.

I haven't look at this tournament yet, but by quick glance this tournament is already good as most of the top ten are entered in this tournament.

Kontaveit took the win in 3 sets, witht he 3rd set a close call 6-4, 4-6, 5-7

This might sound a silly question, but did Kontaveit play a second match back-to-back after her game with Vondrousova?

Why I ask because the bar I was in an hour after I posted, Kontaveit was playing another game (which she looked like she wasn't winning. I wasn't certain if it was a replay, or a follow on game?)
I am thinking replay since the program you were watching had to put something up because other semi final match ended as a forfeit with just couple of games being played and they probably had fixed time allocated to WTA Moscow tournament.

Anyway Kontaveit won the final today even though she was loosing throughout wast majority of the match.

First of all congrats to Kontaveit for winning the game. Overall every set was a close one in my opinion. The walkover from Sakkari in the semi-finals was unfortunate but it is what it is. She's in good form and I hope she can convert that into a championship.

I've also heard Ash Barty has decided not to defend her WTA title later in the year.

Kontaveit is in good shape because previously he won the title too, thought Sakkari was a strong candidate for the championship but unfortunately she walkedover in the semifinals.

Now on men's final Cilic vs Karatsev, was unlucky in some bets in this tournament, only picking over 9.5 in the first set, and ATP Antwerp over 19.5, Sinner is very much the favorite but it looks like it will be tight maybe with the addition of tiebreak.

Maybe the first time that we have seen the first and second seed facing each other in the finals for any tournament (I could be wrong).

Schwartzman is really tearing this tournament as he defeated Brooksby and same with Sinner vs Harris.

All the totals are in the under, amazing, semis not getting into a 3rd and final set.

So yeah, (2) Schwartzman vs (1) Sinner hard to predict but I will go with Sinner to win.

Wasnt the final last year also Sinner v Swartzman, I wonder if they were also seeded 1 and 2 then?
I cant believe that there hasnt been 1 v 2 pairings over the years, interesting thought though.

I have Sinner to win today also, It could go to 3 sets but for me Sinner has looked clinical so far.

I'm watching Kontaveit play Vondrousova in Moscow at the moment. The former looks bored as though she is playing a warm-up practice match. The latter is currently trailing but looks more focused in her game play, so I've got mixed feelings who will win.

(Kontaveit is ahead 6-3 and it's 15all in this set).

Swartzman v Brooksby in the semi, that should be a cracker, Brooksby is playing
great and is slight favourite for this match, on Sportsbet he is 1.67 to 2.17 for Diego.

I am really unsure as to who to bet on, Brooksby has beaten everyone so far in 2
sets but Swartzman is playing with confidence here Huh

In the other final I have Sinner to beat Harris...

Well Diego Schwartzman is a clay player but is a much more experienced one as well. While Brooksby is really young but has a strange way of hitting the ball even Djokovic lost the first set to him trying to figure out how to play against him. I would go with Brooksby in this match.

That's true Brooksby has somewhat of a weird playstyle in my opinion. As he plays an unorthodox style, he can make his opponent sweat for those points. As most of the players are used to playing against a certain type of playstyle. Even the legendary Djokovic couldn't figure out what to do about that. I think I will go for Schwartzman, vs Sinner in the finals.

Well it will be either v Sinner in the final, Sinner was fairly impressive today
against Harris who was also performing quite well, very few unforced errors
on both sides, TBH I can see Sinner winning outright at this stage.

and Swartzman has the first set 6-4.

He is a semi finalist here for the last 2 years so like Sinner this court seems
to suit him.
