this tournament also showed us that there is no "new big three", all these players that are trying to replace big trio, are far lower quality, and we will have probably four different winners on four grand slams in a year, as soon as Novak retires

Definitely, it's the end of an era (or getting towards it). Those three are all-time greats, and it was bizarre to have them all playing at the same time. We've been waiting for years for the next big player to step up, but understandably no-one has been able to match these three so far. But at least it will be interesting having diferent winners all the time, with no-one really dominant.

Maybe when they really go out and say that they are retiring, we could see players becoming the next big 3. But Djokovic is still active, and Nadal trying as well and maybe we can still see Federer next year too.

Perhaps after they 'officially' call it quits, Medvedev, Rublev and Tsitsipas can comfortably claim the next big 3. They just need to step up and starts to win Grand Slams.

Fantastic that Norrie won, it's been a great couple of months for us British tennis fans. Smiley

Norrie's career has been very different to Raducanu's, a slow rise up the rankings over the years... but he has had a fantastic 2021, and is closing on 50 victories for the year! He even has a chance now of making the tour finals at the end of the year, particularly with Rafa unlikely to take a spot.
This year his statistics are quite good, he has several chances to win more titles this year there are at least 4 defeats in final, so total he has made 6 finals and 2 becomes champions, can win master 1000 is a big win for him. Source
Nah I don't think he will win more titles, in fact I think this is his last title this year, he's good we all can agree to this but he got a little bit lucky to win Indian wells, it's better to not expect a lot from him in the next tournaments he plays in, just like Raducanu who won the US Open but lost right after that.

Maybe Norrie can make it to ATP Finals for this year?

Yeah, seems to be that British tennis is riding on a momentum right now, eventhough that Raducanu was booted out in the first round, Norrie shows in the men side. I would say it is a very tough tournament, with almost all the top seed joining here. He lost the first set surprisingly, but made a comeback, made a few sats as well in him winning.

agree, British tennis had it this year, in both competitions
also pleased that Norrie won, did not watched him earlier, but he has shown some good tennis on the tournament, and win was well earned

I am currently betting on the WTA Moscow, Russia Women singles, but I am doing this eyes closed with a multi bet. Yastremska Dayana looks to be the favorite and also Begu Irina-Camelia ... but it will be a close one. Anyone know these two... because the odds are good on them. :->

I like to bet on Stake.com... because they are very fast with the verification and the payouts after you win. (Anyone betting large amounts there... because I want to know if this is just for the smaller bets?)  Huh

It was over in three sets for the ladies, it was Badosa who wins, very tough games as Azarenka is well experience. And the two sets that Badosa won is through tie-breaks.

Norrie vs Basilashvili, first set already, Norrie is the favorite but still a tough call, so I went over with this match and hopefully we can witness another three setter of a match, just like the ladies.

I watched the womens final and put a small in-play bet on Azerenka to win when I saw
her storm through the second set, Badosa couldnt stay with her. Azerenka in the 3rd
was two points away from taking the title at 5-4 when she double faulted. Her service
game throughout the match kind of let her down.

Didnt watch the mens, it was after midnight here, happy to see Norrie take the title, well
done to him and to everyone who backed him.

Still Norrie in the end, he lost the 1st set, but eventually recovered and then really outclassed Basilashvili 6-1 in the last set. I thought that Basilashvili could pulled an upset here after winning the 1st set.

Didn't check the odds live bet, but I think when he lost the 1st set there could have been shift in the odds in favour of Basilashvili.

Yeah, I also did went Over 21.5 in this match @1.8x with boosted odds so good win in the end.

Am I betting on this? no

+1
will skip betting the final, and probably watching it as well, it is past midnight in my country
but, I am glad to see two relatively unknown players in the final, it could be the end of one era, and start of a bit more interesting era, regarding winners and final rounds in men tennis

nevertheless, would like to see Norrie as winner
i think Norrie will win and he's the favourite, but I don't like when odds are lower than 1.7, so I would probably  go for 2-0 with for Norrie, if he starts strong Basilashvili won't be able to keep up with him and I've seen Basilashvili multiple times give up mid match and not try hard after being down a set or a break, I expect a 6-4 6-2 in this match for Norrie.

I'm tempted to back Norrie now actually, given the way he dismantled his (higher ranked) opponent in his last match.

it is really interesting to see four players in the semi-final, and neither is a bit of favorite
Norrie is good, Dimitrov is more experienced, and I expect good match, but Norrie to win, probably under games is good bet, since threshold is high, and Dimitrov is famous to give up, if lose first set, one turn-around on this tournament is more than enough for him

Norrie could win this masters as well

It was Norrie indeed, 2 setter win, 6-2, 6-4 and it was Under.

I was hoping that Dimitrov will continue his run, he has been playing good in this tournament overall. He was really cool in this game, as Dimitrov really tries to come back in the second. Norrie break him in the first game in the 2nd set, but it was not very easy, Dimitrov fends off 3 break points. But this is just want Norrie needed.

I caught the Norrie win, however, Fritz vs Basilashvili?  Basilashvili beat Fritz in two sets as well. I thought that Fritz will go all the way to the finals, first set was close, he just lost in the tie break.

Similar games with Norrie in the second set, Basilashvili just needed a break in the second and never look back in the match. Fritz really played well again, no doubt, but it was that Basilashvili has every answer.

So the stage are set: Norrie vs Basilashvili. Who you do think will win in the finals?

We have to hand it to Fritz he did phenominally well to come back 4 months or so after
knee surgery and get to the semi's of Indian Wells.

Who will win? have not got any idea. I dont mind either TBH, its nice to see lower ranked
players in the final. Looking back over the matches both had at IW, they both have beaten
higher ranked players and had 2 and 3 setter matches.

Am I betting on this? no

So, a Norrie Basilashvili final today, as most people expected. I did think Fritz was one step too far, even if home fervour carried him a lot. The Georgian guy, if he wins, is going to be a national hero... I don't feel bad putting money on him today for a straight set.

Too late for me to watch though, another morning wakeup to see how it went.

The Indian Wells tournament has been very weird. No top players in the finals. With players like Medvedev, Zverev being on good form, I expected at least one of them in the finals if not two. But it is what it is and to be honest, I don't know who to support in the finals. It's a match between 26 ranked players and 36 ranked players. I'm not sure but maybe Norrie might have an edge in the finals but let's see.

Norrie is the favourite @1.54 ML. But it might be good if he can cover the spread -2.5 @1.84

or over 22.5 @1.90. I think the game will be in 3 sets here as both are really playing very good tennis. Maybe Basilashvili will take the 1st set and not Norrie coming back to win the last 2 and be the champion of this tournament this year.

This is how I'm seeing the finals match, so goodluck to all bettors.
I am skipping the final since I did not watch Norrie in this tournament at all. I watched Basilashvili against Tsitsipas and he was very good in that match. He is one of those players that can be really good if his shots are landing inside or totally break down and loose badly if they start going out. No plan B in his game and I don't like betting on that type of players pre live. Live betting is much better since they are momentum players and you can often see those momentum changes. Unfortunately this match is too late for me to live bet on it.

They met only once before and Norrie swept the floor with Basilashvili 6:0 6:3, ut that was played indoor on fast surface. Indian Wells seems like much slower conditions.

Good thing i betted on Zverev only in first set and won. If i have betted after that i would have probobly lost big on it

I'd have lost a lot too, was banking on tough games for the favs but not for them to crash out to, frankly, inferior opponents.

I think the winner of the tournament is very likely to come from the bottom half of the draw. Both Tsitsipas and Zverev should beat both Dimitrov and Norrie.

Just yet another reminder - the way to make money is always to bet the opposite way to me Cheesy
Can't believe Tsitsipas and Zverev both lost.
I'm tempted to back Norrie now actually, given the way he dismantled his (higher ranked) opponent in his last match.
I totally agree, I would rather choose and bet on an underdog with odds @2.5 than combine three favourites to reach those odds, surprises happen all the time in tennis, as you can see in the semi finals of masters, the highest ranked player is Norrie ranked 26th, I am not saying they're bad but you get what I am saying.
the 2nd semi already started and Fritz lost the first set, he can win the second set and maybe the third one, i think he will either lose 2-0 or win the match, there is no third option.
