Stefanos Tsitsipas was almost upset as well. He will be facing Basilashvili next, this is the QF already so I'm going on the over here. My multi-bets have been rekt with this seeded players being upset, but what can we do? So staying with just singles for now.

Yeah, however, he made it and the score is over so I will take that win today.

I also did try one multibet early, just lucky, but the second time, and with so many upsets, I got rekt early so I just decided to bet on match that I can predict.

I could have made money on the Norrie vs Schwartzman, however, due to time zone difference, wasn't able to bet on it.

I am glad that Zverev lost to Dmitrov (Result: 6-4, 4-6, 3-6 ). As Djokovic is not playing this tournament, I was very unsure about if he could still be no.1 till the end of the year as  Medvedev is in very good form. But now that he lost this, the probability of Djokovic staying no.1 goes high and I like that. Not sure but even I'm not kind of enjoying this tournament so far as it seems kind of bland to me. I don't know maybe a bit more marketing would have brought more attention.
I was watching match between Dmitrov vs Hurkacz which is currently controlled by Dmitrov as he is playing very good. He beats Medvedev, not Zverev in his last match because Zverev is going to play his quarter-final after 20 hours against Fritz from the USA.

Dmitrov was very good player few years back, but sadly his performance was not good recently but in this Indian Wells he is playing one of best games first beat top ranked Medvedev now have break in third set against Hurkaxz is extraordinary from him now he is going to face another good exciting player Norrie in Semi Final.

Edit:
Good fight back by Hurkacz now match is level in third set by 5 - 5 lets wait who is going to win and qualify for semifinal against Norrie.

Grigor Dimitrov pulled a win in the end of the match. He won the tie break and the match and he is playing amazing on this tournament. He dropped few important games in third set but ended up winning the match and will play another big match against Norrie

Indian Wells is full of surprises this year and I am mostly skipping betting on it. I caught good handicaps yesterday on Dimitrov, Zverev and Fritz but lost my multi on Pegula anyway.
I believe this loss from Medvedev means Djokovic will finish the year as number one.
Lol, to be honest mate, I wanted to reach out to you by PM and see what's up with you, I haven't seen you posting in this thread for a while.
There was no high profile tournaments before Indian Wells and I don't like to post when I am not actually watching or betting on something.
Indian Wells is also at a time which is too late for me to watch, except for first matches and those are usually bad. Tennis is a sport which you have to watch in order to judge form properly so I am sort of out of it at the moment. Will be back when the tour gets back to more friendly time zones.

@slaman29, He is nearing his retirement that is for sure. I don't think he can continue for more than a year or so. But I have to appreciate the enjoyable games he has provided for the fans over the years. Maybe he will play a few more tournaments for the sake of just 'playing' before he says goodbye to his tennis racket for good.

For sure. I think we also feel the same way about any of these big Four players. I think for Murray as he himself says, he will only play if he himself feels he deserves it just like the same for Federer. And he may learn to play like the Swiss, as in, to prepare himself physically, and only pick the tournaments he feels he "deserved".

Like all good sportspeople,,, they want to put on a good show and not just compete for the sake of appearing and making the tournament less "incredible".

It is clear on the pitch that Murray has left his golden days way in the past.

I guess it is also clear to Murray himself now as he has already told the press he will not participate in the upcoming Davis Cup, he even says he doesn't deserve it, so he clearly knew he was below expected performance. In fact just earlier he was already talking about retirement plans (but he has ruled out commentating lol I guess his past experience with that showed him it wasn't just as easy as it looks or sounds).

His Tweet sums it all up: F***

The Dimitrov vs Medvedev was really suprising, Medvedev was at one point leading 4-1 in the second set and then Dimitrov racking up 5 successive points against the top seed.

Yes, Djokovic still on the number 1 at the end of the year.

Khachanov also lost today to Basilashvili and I would say this is an upset too.

Corrie vs Schwartzman. I have Corrie here, I'm surprised that Schwartzman has reach this far though,  Smiley

I believe this loss from Medvedev means Djokovic will finish the year as number one.

it was a long-shot from Medvedev to reach Djokovic this year, anyway
first reasonable chance is AO, and winning AO would probably set Medvedev on no.1, no matter Djokovic result on AO, and in the meantime (it is at least 1600 points, if they meet in finals, since Djokovic won last year final over him)

there is a lot of surprises, but at the moment tennis is more interesting to watch, there could four unexpected semi-finalist, with top3 (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer), usually just one player had a chance to reach semi-final

I think a lot of people are losing bets because of all these upsets.

There are some upsets, but the main thing I think is that we don't have the dominant stars anymore. We have been used to it for years, where Djokovic/Federer/Nadal always win on the men's side, and Serena always wins on the women's side. That time is going now, and in tournaments that don't have these all-time greats playing at their peak, the favourites are not such huge favourites as we are used to. We think because they are favourites, they will certainly win, but it's just not the case, because there is not that supreme dominance. The unpredictability makes it interesting, but it's difficult for betting.

Yeah, surprising results in today's match, Medvedev and Sinner lost, and there was almost the third when de Minaur was able to win the first set and the second set again was able to make it until the tie break but he lost the second set, in the third set de Minaur seemed to have lost energy, he made a lot of error and Tsitsipas was able to come back and win easily.

I think a lot of people are losing bets because of all these upsets. I had Khachanov
to win after his win over Ramos Vinolas.

I also had Medvedev the top seed to win against Dimitrov ... what the hell happened
to Medvedev? he was winning 1 set and 4 games in the second and like a switch
started making error after error.

I didnt bet on the Fritz v Sinner match, If I did I would have gone with Sinner ... who lost.

I have a small wager on Tsitsipas to win, Over 20.5.

Top seed Medvedev lost to Dimitrov, I wasn't surprised as Dimitrov is playing good in this tournament.

Basilashvili though upset Khachanov in a very close match. It was just that Basilashvili was able to break Khachanov in the first set. And then it was a a battle in the second set.

Yes sometimes inplay betting can be beneficial, I had Tsitsipas to win and wasnt
watching the match. Happy enough that he won.

I also had Fernandez to win, which she very nearly did but she missed out on the last
couple of points in the 3rd set tie break. It was a great match, have to say she
did well against Rogers' power, and well done to Rogers she is having a good run ATM

There were a lot of upsets yesterday, I had 4 losses with Pliskova, Rublev, Svitolina
and Fernandez.

I also have losses on the Khachanov vs Busta, I thought that it will go on 3 sets.

I'll probably do some live betting this time, just to see players are performing and to look for some underdog bets as well.

I have 2 match that will happen in my timezone:

De Minaur vs Tsitsipas
Monfils vs Zverev

Most likely I will go and bet on this match. I'm seeing either of the match to have some upsets or a 3 sets.

Murray fought, but Zverev too strong, that's how it went. Even if they had a 3rd set I think he would have won it comfortably.

as expected, it was over games, but Murray was not even close to win the match, one tie-break was the best he can do
nevertheless, I think that Murray will play better next season, if he continue to play like this, and he needs one good tournament, to skip top-seeded players in early rounds, so he can keep up

it is not easy to come-back after break and surgery, and I would like to see Murray lifting some trophy, even on smaller tournament, he is obviously a fighter

It is clear on the pitch that Murray has left his golden days way in the past. Zverev had been on very good form lately and he's currently ranked 3rd if I'm not wrong and we saw Zverev even upset an in-form Djokovic. So Murray not winning this match and Zverev dominating him did not surprise me at all. Congrats to Zverev for winning.

Yes, he's a fighter and he's hugely talented. He was also briefly ranked #1 and unbeatable for a good few months just before his injury. In any other era (or just without Djokovic beating him every time in the Australian Open final), he would be in double figures for slam titles.
I'm not convinced he will ever get back to his best, but he will keep trying, and he is at least able to give the top players a decent match now, which wasn't the case when he first came back. I hope he continues to improve, but I think it's unlikely he'll win another big title.
