@Trofo - I think you got the +9.5 won on Schwartzman, and even if you bet for Nadal -8.5, it was still covered. Schwartzman also won a set. I haven't pull the trigger on Djokovic vs Berrettini, but I might bet for Matteo to win at least 1 set as well.

I check on the ladies side, all names are not familiar to me on the semi-final, obviously, we will crown a new French Open champion again this year. We all know how unpredictable the ladies side is, so I'm not surprised although I thought that in the beginning, Swiatek can at least defend her crown.
I ve gone with shwarzman to win a set he played really well in this tournament but nadal is really strong in clay and he is likely to win the title on the womens side it was a surprise for me but the performance of sakkari was great and i think she will win this year title.

On the women's side, I suppose Swiatek must be the overwhelming favourite now that most of the other contenders have fallen away. Not sure if anyone left in the draw can stop her. Coco Gauff maybe has an outside chance?

Well, Swiatek lost. And Gauff lost.
If anyone wants to win a lot of money on the French Open, just take a look at what I predict, and then bet on the exact opposite Cheesy

Nadal to win the men's.

I mentioned in an earlier comment the fact that there is a lot of surprise in the women's competition and that it is impossible to predict anything, unlike the men's competition where everything is predictable.
After the great domination of Serena ended, a new player who would dominate women's tennis has not yet appeared.
I thought Osaka might be the new Serena but it seems she is not yet psychologically ready for such pressure.
If nothing else, at least in women's tennis it's not boring and we have a new unexpected winner in every tournament  Grin

Ah Berrettini had way too many unforced errors and missed too many clear points.
Djokovic was frustrated throughout the match, that was evident with his relief after
winning in the 4th set.

Im dissapointed really, I thought the young guns could make an upset to the top 3
in a slam, we still have the young guns v the establishment though in the final.

I am always gunning for underdogs on best of 5 matches. That helps me a lot with men's side of the draw since odds are totally slanted to the favorites side. You can find 9.5 and even 10.5 handicaps against Djoko and Nadal for every single match, no matter the opponent. Same goes for some other top players as well. Currently have Schwartzman +9.5 @1.8 and Beretini to take at least one set @1.8. Both as single and as double.

My bets on women's side of the draw usually go with players in form. Got hurt bad with Gauff loss today, she just lost her cool after loosing first set in which she was in front couple of times and even had set points. Did not bet on or watch Swiatek since odds were bad but I expected easy win as well.

I have an opposite style of betting, I bet on favourites mostly, with odds above 1.10.

I like everyone was expecting for Gauff ans Swiatek to win their matches, Sakkari is actually
having a good tournament.

Just watching Djokovic v Berrettini, very interesting, the best returner of serve v one of
the top servers. Looking at it now I think Berrettini could come very very close to winning
this.....but it is early still.

Djokovic won this match even after he o most gifted berretini that 3rd set.But came back strong in 4th and showed in how good form he is currently.Awesome play from Djokovic,Berretini was serving really good the entire match,he will be on grass really hard to beat if he continues to serve like this.

Really suprised that Sakkari was able to beat Swiatek. Swiatek is currently in the best form on the tour and just lost 2:0 this wasnt expected from her as she was predicted for the favorite to win the french open.

Hoping for mens semi final djokovic vs nadal

But another big name also knock out Medvedev, as others have said, he is not expecting to play high level in this surface and yet he reach this far.

Tsitsipas is really playing good, he will be facing his young rival in Zverev, maybe this will extend to 5 sets game now. I will still go with Tsitsipas here to reach the finals against either Nadal or Djokovic.

Nice victory of Tsitsipas but I expected that he would win with more margin, but still he managed to do it in 3 sets.
Waiting on the odds of Tsitsipas to win against Zverev, but here again a handicap on Zverev could be interesting.
Tsitsipas vs Zverev @1.83 -2.5 and probably a parlay with Nadal -8.5 against Schwartzman will be a interesting combination. I think both matches could end in just 3 sets. Surprised to see Schwartzman name here, maybe he has a easy road that's why he reaches this far.

I haven't check the odds on Tsitsipas vs Medvedev, did he cover it?

But it seems Medvedev is weak on clay right now against Tsitsipas he is without any chance so far.
Medvedev played a great 2nd set and had some really good points. He even had a couple of match points towards the later part of the set and just when he showed enough to make us think he will have an edge in tie break - Tsitsipas played a perfect one and clinched 2nd set as well. Managed to place a nice live bet on under 44.5 games when Medvedev had a break point. Should be a secure thing if don't see an epic comeback.

yea its looking ominous for Medvedev ATM, opportunities are running out, he needs to
break Tsitsipas and hold serve to take the 3rd set... ATM he is 1 break point from 5.
At times looking at Tsitsipas he looks absolutely wrecked but he has all the answers
to what Medvedev is putting his way.

Medvedev was a break up in the third set in the second set had set points. Missed it all and lost to tsitsipas so another big name has been knocked out of the tournament. Lets see if we can get even bigger suprises tommorow or will we see a classic between djokovic and nadal

Surprise? Why do you say it is a surprise that Tsitsipas won? Look at his statistics on clay for this season. This was definitely expected. The only thing that really surprised me was how weak Medvedev played. It looked like girl tennis from his side except for his brilliant stop balls. When he hit the ball the game became slower literally every single time while Tsitsipas constantly shot one bullet after another.

That was disappointing from Medvedev but as is already known clay is absolutely not his thing. He could have made it to world rank 1, I didn't know that before the game. f he made it to the final and Djokovic didn't, he would have been world rank 1.

.../quote¨{/....:

Well, I win with the maximum margin 3 set !!
But I understand you are talking about the dominance of the game in the result of each of their matches.

Now the last point as Medvedev played it that has no loss, certainly something childish, but it does not stop being humorous.

That was impressive by Tsitsipas, I thought he would be tested more, I obviously
thought he would be beaten but he came up with goods to take the win.

Against Zverev next will be another level I'm really not going to bet on this one,
Zverev is also playing well.

Good call for the moment as Djokovic is up 4-1 in the 3rd set.
After going through two sets with a tie break Djokovic was able to win in the 3rd and 4th sets, 5th set He lead 4-0.
It looks like Musetti was injured so he decided to retires, Musetti gave a tight fight if he wasn't injured maybe he could have beaten Djokovic.
https://twitter.com/atptour/status/1401916863060189184

Too bad that Musetti got injured, would have been the biggest shock till now in this French Open. Djokovic will now play against Berrettini who got a walkover thanks to the forfait of Federer.
I liked how Djoko came back after trailing by two sets to zero, he returned with three consecutive days before the opponent withdrew from the match.
The mental fortitude that this man possesses is very mythical, and even as he breathes his last, you enter into doubt and he may return and defeat you.
Djokovic.the hardest player to demoralize, he is recovering from the middle of the pile of bad, and it is no wonder that the next is a myth, because I see many things related to history numbers that this iron Serb may be afflicted with. Run away with any number you have in the yellow ball, I see it exceeded that and much more.

That is something I have observed several times in the past when it comes to Djokovic. He was even accused once of doing that on purpose for more or less unknown reasons. He loses two sets and out of a sudden it goes boom and he just destroys his opponent. He sometimes also has that when he leads like 2-0, and then he plays a third set as if he never had a racket in his hands. It's really weird from time to time.

Anyway, for all the fans of the clash between the titans, we are on track for Djokovic - Nadal! Wink Sadly, it would be a semifinal though. Still worth watching a hopefully 5+ hours game! Tongue Have fun guys!
Djokovic needs to overcome another good clay player in Berrettini. Maybe we can see another come from behind win by Djokovic assuming that Berrettini will go out and play like it is final.

I also observed Djokovic style of play, we can't say if he is doing it on purpose or something, but he seems to take a dive early or even in the third set. Maybe he want's to take a rest or preserved his energy for more grueling game ahead, but it doesn't make sense. As compare to let's say Nadal who will really give 100% in the first set and will bully his opponents into submission both physical and mental. Like what he did to Jannik, 6-0 on the last set.

Yes it is really weird because it happens almost every single time that out of a sudden he doesn't know how to play tennis anymore for a whole set. Afterwards he destroys the opponent 6-1.

I didn't know Medvdev could make it to world rank number one if he reaches the final and Djokovic doesn't or if he beats Djokovic in the final. But it seems Medvedev is weak on clay right now against Tsitsipas he is without any chance so far.

I have a small bet on now on Medvedev (one of my favourite players) he as well as
Tsitsipas are capable of beating anyone. For someone who wouldnt be classed as a
clay court specialist he is certainly going very well.

Anyway this is my gamble of the week, lets see how it plays out....
