What a legend Nadal is as he has just won his 50th straight set on clay to break the long-standing John McEnroe record of 49 straight sets on clay. This record was one of the longest running records in Tennis which hadn't been broken for 34 years until now. Nadal has won 38 of his last 39 matches on clay and is now looking to win his sixth title in Madrid after taking his trophy hauls at Monte Carlo and Barcelona to 11 titles each. He looks unstoppable leading into the French Open.
I watched his form today and it was perfect against Diego Swartzmann.
There is no one who can beat this man on clay. And this being his home court it will be impossible to even win a set let alone a match when he is playing like he has been thru out this Spanish open in Madrid.
He will be facing Domnic Theim next and will have no problem passing him to face the next opponent in the round of the quarter-finals.
Watched Theim's match too and he is having trouble with pulling back his shot and is overshooting the ball outside the lines on the back court.

You are probably correct but on the other hand if I had to pick player which can hurt Nadal on this tournament it is Thiem. If he has his day he has enough power to win the match even against Nadal. I am not seeing that happening today, but I will not risk the money on Nadal at such low odds against player who can shoot trough anyone.

I am expecting a match where Thiem will be a better player in short spells of few games here and there and Nadal prevailing trough consistency after Thiem starts missing his shots.

There is only one god on clay and that's Nadal, his critics wrote him off, his injuries didn't deter him his resolve like a rock, he's unbeatable on clay. He's been my favourite from the days when he was able to stop FedEx, had never imagined someone would able to, and when I see him play it's like he turned the years back what grace and skill. Keep on going like that and keep on winning.

Damn, this Nadal is outstanding. He hasn't lost any set since his return. Amazing!
He is playing Barcelona final today against Tsitsipas. I think he will resume his amazing streak.

I have been watching Tsitsipas in few matches in Barcelona and I must say he impressed me with the level of play he managed throughout this tournament. This is first time I have seen him play and he has strong game, good serve with solid ground strokes.

Nadal will win this one for sure but I am hoping we will have a match. i played contra handicap on Tsitsipas (+7,5) @1.65.

Nadal won first set easily and he is going great in second as well, leading 3:0. It seems he will it prety easily.
However, Tsitsipas' time is yet to come. I am sure we will be seeing him at the end of tournaments much in upcoming years.

Well he demolished the youngster  and sending the message. Damn it was Nadal's 11th in Barcelona Open and he is really unstoppable now. As for Tsitsipas, well he has a lot to learn but I'm sure meeting Nadal in the finals is already a "win" for him. I think this kid will win a trophy in the future, he is really talented but he needs more experience. Give him 2-5 years and I'm sure that he can stand with the big boys.

That was a great display of dominance by Nadal today and he looks in fine form leading into the French Open which is good to see as he seems to be over the injury he picked up in the Australian Open. I must say that this young kid could go far in the French Open as he does look like a fine young player that won't be a push over in the early rounds of the French Open.

Federerr skipping clay court makes absolute sense, Nadal is in absolute form of his life and he knows he faces a certain defeat, but when it comes on grass he's the king and a fitter body will help him. That's a smart move to preserve yourself for the long term. The joker has really lost his form I doubt he'll create any trouble.

Exactly, a champion like Federer should always know how to pick his moments and it makes every sense now that age isn't on his side either to get enough rest before the US open just like Cristiano Ronaldo is doing and escaping league games for the champions league and it seems to be working for him.

Roger Federer will skip the clay court season again like he did last year so that he can be fit and ready for Wimbledon. Federer could return at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle or Stuttgart in June. I was hoping to see him at the French Open but I guess he feels his not up to playing on clay and challenging Nadal.
He is the best at this Smiley He knows that nobody can touch Nadal on clay right now , I see only a very few players namely Thiem , Djokovic ( if he is at his best ) who can defeat Nadal , apart from them I don't really think anybody else got a chance.

Yeah he is as we saw last year, it worked out perfectly for Federer picking the right tournaments to enter and winning 2 Grand Slams in the process which he could do once again this year and maybe even go one step better and win 3 Grand Slams. I agree with you on Thiem being Nadal's main danger and Djokovic if he is 100% fit and ready to go. Apart from that I think we'll see Nadal French Open Champion once again.

This is one factor one Roger was still in tip top shape and in form because he chooses to enter tournaments that he has a chance to win. Not entering clay is a good move. And yes, maybe he is preparing something big like the Wimbledon. Nadal was really unstoppable in clay so it doesn't make sense for Roger to even enter the tournament when Nadal will clearly take the trophy.

I would add Wawrinka to that list but it seems he is struggling with his injury. He is one of my favorite players to bet on. He starts tournaments slowly and often has problems against low ranked players and then in the later stages of big tournaments he is playing great tennis and makes top players look ordinary. Very good player for handicaps.
I would have added Stan The Man too but not right now , not till he makes a great comeback . I love him on clay but well now he isn't able to play well for 5 sets if needed . I would actually like to add Carreno Busta to the list because if he is at his best , he can do some real damage to any top player.
I have Busta mentally categorized under choker. Meaning he has big problems with finishing already won matches unless his opponent gift's some points (which Dimitov just did). I agree he can do big damage to players like Dimitrov, Cilic, Wawrinka and similar players with big game but prone to unforced errors. I can't see him wining vs. Nadal or in form Djokovic/Murray.
