As smooth as butter for Roger Federer, Its a shame for Cilic not to show what he has got, looked very tired from the very beginning of first set and could not even break a server.
Anyways Congrats to The #5 year old Federer for the Title.
As for the match itself, Cilic never got into his comfort zone. Cilic overcooked so many forehands on those low slice backhand returns, and Federer able to pick off so many even first serves.
Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time. Please don't retire yet.
It was clear to see Cilic was suffering from some kind of injury , tournament directors and physio talked to him and most probably told him not to retire because the Wimbledon finals is watched by millions of people around the world . I am really happy because he didn't give up until the end.

Kudos to Mr. Roger Federer, I must admit He's prime is still not passing him. Finishing the tournament without getting a 1 set loss, Is another history made by the legend himself. But I still give creds to Mr. Cilic for finishing the game unlike other players who are retiring in a match due to a so called "Injury". All in all, both players played well it's just that Roger is unbelievable.

Congratulations to King Roger Federer for winning his 8th wimbledon at 35 years without losing 1 set!
He is the most talented player of all time, he is "Tennis"

Roger Federer's form has really been impressive. He was helped this time by Marin Cilic getting a blister on his left foot.
To achieve what he already has and to win Wimbledon at the age of 35 is really amazing.

Such a shame for Marin Cilic injury problem, he could do much better in today finale. I am Federers fun but I felt really sorry when I saw Marin nearly start crying. Anyway, congratulations to master of the tennis game, Roger Federer. Fully deserved and made two new records: eight time Wimbledon winner and 19 GS titles...
all time tennis legend Roger Federer deserves a great farewell, day by day his ambition is getting higher and higher so it is really tough to predict when he will retire from his legendary career. I am a die heart fan of Roger, I waited a long time to see him Champion for his 18th grand slam, during that time many people thought that Roger lost his capability to win any Grand slam. I did wait and put faith on him, how he is 19th grand slam winner.
Finally, our expectation not went wrong Federer won the tournament. Yes, bad luck for Cilic I thought Federer would face a big fight from Cilic but because of his problem today he not played up to the mark. Today I did not feel it was a final match because Federer won this match with a straight set. Congratulation Federer.

Woot. Roger did it again. Roger Federer has made history with his eighth Wimbledon win, became the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1976 to win a Wimbledon title without dropping a set, and now holds a record-setting 19 Grand Slam titles. I think skipping the French Open was a nice decision on his end. This make his body rest to able to compete at this high level of tennis specially there are new and upcoming players willing to overtake the veterans. But Roger says no to them and proved once again he is one of the best tennis player of all time. Congrats.

What a legend of tennis Federer is and like I said I don't think we will see this again in our lifetime as he is one of a kind. I agree that Federer skipping the French open to get his body right for Wimbledon was the right decision and has paid off big time for him. Now can he make it 20 Grand Slams by winning the upcoming US Open? I would love to see him win and make 20 Grand Slam titles and then if he does decide to retire then that would be the perfect time to go out on top with 20 Grand Slam titles to his name.

The blister didn't stop him and though he was reduced to tears, he didn't let that stop him at all from giving his best in the game, though his best was simply not enough to help him win the game. Congratulations to Roger Federer for his 19th grand slam title and hopefully he will reach 20 in the US Open with both Djokovich and Murray out injured.

Federer should easily win his eighth wimbledon!
Cilic can win 1 set at tie break, but Federer will surely win.
He could not even get that far and had a mental breakdown after the second set when he was crying an dhad to put a towel over his head to cover his emotional torment that Federer is endocturating on him right now.
He is just about to win this Wimbledon in straight sets for the eighth title for this tournament of his career.
Only Nadal has more than him at ten.
Overall Roger Federer has won 19 grand slam titles where Nadal has 15 on all circuits for their life long careers.

Am hoping that Roger Federer doesn't go through the same fate as Venus Williams in today's final, he is one of the finest players currently,  he has shown that age is just a number and playing like he is 10 years younger.

It's tempting to bet on Cilic as the Serbian's got 8 years of youth on his side. I'm still putting my money on Fed, partly for nostalgia but partly also because of the immense psychological hurdle that Cilic's going to have - falling 7 out of 8 times against the Swiss champ. I've seen in so many sports like badminton how this "record" keeps coming back to haunt them.

Cilic will burn bright in first and second sets, but Federer's uncanny ability to persist will see him through.

I think it was completely bad luck for Venus Williams. All gamblers expected that she would win this title but great performance from Muguruza especially in 2nd set 6-0 amazing. She deserves this victory. Now fear started this result will repeat in men final may be more gamblers will lose their bets including me. I hope Federer will not disappoint their fans in this match.

It wasn't a poor final, as many people seem to be suggesting. It was a poor second set. The first set was top class, in terms of quality and intensity. Muguruza maintained (or even slightly raised) her level in the second set, and Venus wasn't able to stay with her (for potentially a variety of reasons).

Also, how predictable, lazy and reductive to use a poor set of tennis as yet another stick to beat the women's game with. It's been a fascinating, exciting, high quality tournament on the women's side and had Venus been able to raise her game, the final would've been incredible but the young'un won the physical and mental battle.

I thought it was a great final to watch as the 1st set had it all and was a great battle to watch a veteran take on an up and coming superstar of the game. Yes the 2nd set was a let down but Muguraza simply dominated Venus who had no answer to the way Muguraza was playing mentally and physically. Can't wait to watch the men's final and I'm hoping Federer can win and make it a record 8th Wimbledon title.

That is true. Williams is a veteran, but we have seen how she dominated Konta in the semi finals. It is just that Garbine Muguruza broke away after winning the first set.

Or she is bad luck loosing four consecutive finals in a row.
She really don't  that much luck in Wimbledon.
