Federer had an easy time to dispatch of Alex Zverev today in the Halle championship.
The first set showed this and Alexy was getting very frustrated early on and this showed in his face.
He fell a few times in teh match and I thought he was going to retire from this finals match with an injury.
But he is contender and did not give up. Even against the odds of a healthy Roger Federer.

It was a pretty easy victory for Federer, winning in straight sets 6-1 6-3. It was sweet revenge for Federer, because Alex Zverev had beaten him last year in the semi-finals. He looks to be in extremely good touch for Wimbledon.
Right , we can see a lot of difference between the last year's Federer and this years. It holds good to Nadal too because of his new forehand Smiley We can expect Nadal and Federer beating all the NewGen stars like Thiem , Zverev , Khachanov in this Wimbledon .

I think those veterans are not yet ready to give their position. Although the young guns are really climbing, Nadal and Federer are also upping their game as well. So I think both of them will really show that they still have it to compete with the young generations.

Today an interesting final in Halle between Federer (the history of tennis) and A.Zverev (the Future of Tennis).
Last year here Zverev won in the semi-finals against Federer.

I am convinced that both will be protagonists at Wimbledon, with Federer who can return to the podium of the world ranking atp,
and A. Zverev who can improve his best ranking (10th)

Congratulations to Roger for his title number nine in Halle. Need only 53 minutes to finish the job. 92nd title, 140 finale in carrier...impressive numbers. Last check for Wimbledon, he is ready. Best of luck, take that 19th Slam title.
What a performance . He just schooled Zverev , amazing victory Smiley This will boost his confidence and yes he is clearly the favorite to win Wimbledon.
On the other hand , Lopez deservedly won at queens . He is a great grass-court player and he just proved that .

Expected match and the same result came in the court superbly played by Federer in this match. 92 titles is not a small matter and 140 final matches he played this will show us how he is maintained his form throughout the career. Next title Wimbledon is waiting for him. I think he is the only strong player in this tournament. Nadal is also in good form, but if these two players come to final, then Federer will win the title.

Roger Federer has just won 2-0 against M. Zverev and is in the quarterfinals at Halle.
Now he has an easy draw to the final: quarter-finals against Mayer (134th atp), semi-final against Khachanov or Rublev.

Federer is improving his shape to be 100% in Wimbledon, where he will be the big favorite

Congrats to Federer for winning this match. He has proved to be consistent of late and I believe he stands a better chance to win the Wimbledon. Zverev is a potential threat to him and therefore overcoming him was a great success.

Roger Federer has reached the semi-finals, with a straights set victory over Florian Mayer. He will face Khachanov in the next round.
He really looks in good touch for Wimbledon.

Who will win wimbledon?

Roger Federer        @3.50
Andy Murray          @4.00
Rafa Nadal             @6.00
Novak Djokovic      @6.50
Milos Raonic         @12.00
Nick Kyrgios         @17.00
Alexander Zverev @20.00
Dominic Thiem     @25.00
Grigror  Dimitrov  @25.00
Stan  Wawrinka    @25.00
Kei Nishikori         @30.00
Marin Cilic            @30.00
J.Martin Del Potro @30.00

I think Federer will win without any problems at Wimbledon.
Djokovic and Murray are not 100% this year, Nadal is not a specialist.

A. Zverev may be the surprise of this tournament

Federer has a great chance but he should play carefully against players like Thiem , Zverev as you mentioned , Kyrgios ( If he faces them ) . I am actually going for both Federer and Nadal since the odds for Nadal is impressive .

Todays pick
Gasquet v Robin - over 22.5 games.

Federer is my pick also. He did right thing to pass entire clay season and focus on surfaces that he loves the most; grass and concrete. If he repeat game like we have seen on Australian Open than youngsters have small chances to win against him.

Today 2 loud defeats:
Murray lost 2-0 against Thompson (90th atp) quoted [email protected] and Raonic lost 2-0 against Kokkinakis quoted at @7.00.
Bad defeat for Wawrinka for 2-0 against Lopez.

Bad signals for these 3 players a few days from the start of Wimbledon
Murray losing wasnt really surprising to me. I wish I had put some money into it. Grass court are really not for him even though he has some strong showings in Wimbledon in previous years. On grass court, ball skids through the grass and stays low which is probably the worst conditions for defensive styled players. One of the reasons why Nadal doesnt have strong showings on grass. Nadal has changed to a lot more aggressive shot making now, which will really help him but Murray hasnt been able to transition into an much more attacking player and will probably going to cost him. I was surprised with Raonic as hard courts and Grass are right up his alley and should make use of it to gain some ATP points. Gotta give credit to Kokkinakis though. He played really well.

Yes he is in incredible form, and he is preparing to win Wimbledon. I have expected a tough fight against Zverev, but he won the match by straight set. Next matches he can win easily without any doubt. Let's see how he will prepare for Wimbledon I think he will win this cup or Nadal will win. Other players have a chance, but these two players are a hot fav.
