I had an active bet on this match. Actually the match was not very competitive, as I think most people thought it was going to be. Or at least I thought the match was going to be competitive. I also was quite confident that Baez would win the final. But I did not think that she would win without even dropping one set. I was actually a little disappointed to see the performance from Lehecka. I expected a better performance from him.

I did not expect Lehecka to be able to win the final. But I definitely think that he was going to give his opponent a hard time. But obviously congratulations to Baez for winning the final.

Yes and Baez were the favorite on clay when she managed to win the Winston-Salem Open.
He is still one of the greatest out there today.
For the match at the US Open, Baez will meet Borna Coric on August 30 and this will make it difficult for us to always predict that Baez will win the match because Borna Coric also often creates unexpected surprises.
But it seems there is still a big possibility that some fans still believe Baez can dominate the US Open match later.

Thar was a comfortable win by Baez and with hindsight he was indeed the favourite. My thoughts
before the match was that it would be closer and a bet on a set each would be possible, I was only
50% right!

Nothing happening today at the US open, all qualifiers have been decided up to yesterday.

Looking at the schedule for the next 3 days it looks to me that Djokovic, Medvedev and Alcaraz
are all on the same side of the draw with Ruud and Rune being the only other top seeds on the
other side, maybe I'm seeingbit wrong.

As most prediction Baez have won the ATP Winston-Salem in direct sets in a much easier way 6-4 6-3. Lehecka got lucky to reach his maiden ATP final as Korda withdrew due to injury. Baez have got all the winning probability as he had won the title three times. Now with this win one more got added to his name. Baez is more favorable with clay surface than hard court which could've been used by Lehecka and he missed.

Baez is definitely going to be the player who will be the favourite to win this match In my opinion. But I don’t think it is going to be easy for any player to win. And I think this is going to be a competitive match. After all, it is the final match and I don’t think any final can actually be easy for anyone to win.

I also believe that both the players are playing in the final because they have the skill set required to do so. So even though a lot of people are saying that Baez is going to be the favourite in this match, he should not underestimate his opponent. Even though his opponent did get a walkover/free win in the semifinals.

Interesting matchups for sure, here is my take on these listed:


Botic Van de Zandschulp vs Jordan Thompson - I think Thompson has a real chance of winning
this, the Dutchman has been at his best for a while. Thompson is favourite @1.37

Tallon Griekspoor (24) vs Arthur Fils - this will be close and could go either way.

Alexander Shevchenko vs Cameron Norrie (16) - I would expect Norrie to win this one,
he is favourite @1.2

Andy Murray vs Corentin Moutet - Ah I dont see an upset here, Murray is favourite @1.24
and has the 5 set experience to win this one.

Sebastian Baez vs Borna Coric (27) - this could be close both have reached the semi finals at
Winston-Salem but Baez is in the final, 5 set matches are different though.

Diego Schwartzman vs Arthur Rinderknech - as above but Diego has been struggling lately.
I wont be betting on this one.

Marton Fucsovics vs Sebastian Korda (31) - If Korda is fit I would expect him to win but
indeed Marton can be a tricky opponent, its close enough with the odds though 2.33 - 1.56

Marcos Giron vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (21) - Fokina to win this one but wouldnt back
him as we progress further.

Alexander Bublik (25) vs Dominic Thiem - Bublik is favourite and I have a new liking for him
after his win at Halle, Like Dominic too and is capable of an upset here, Bublik has been
quiet since Wimbledon really...

Aslan Karatsev vs Jiri Lehecka - this could go either way, odds have them very close,
maybe a bet on games won for this one, could go to 5 sets.

Stefanos Tsitsipas (7) vs Milos Raonic - great to see Milos back, he is capable od an upset here
if he has gained more fitness in the last 2 weeks, odds suggest Tsitsipas should win this....
but yea its Tsitsipas!

I don't think that Lehecka will stand much longer against Baez because he is of course a better player with higher advantage of winning this match. I think Baez will use a different strategy this time to win the final and Lehecka won't be able to guess that the serves of Baez this time. Baez will also lead when it comes to groundstrokes because he has been aggressive in that area and he will show aggressiveness once again in the final match. But, still it's too early for us to predict the outcome of the match as we also know that Lehecka is also a good player and he may also have a secret strategy for the final match. I still think that Baez has upper edge over Lehecka and he his chances of having victory in the coming match is far higher than that of Lehecka.

The two met in the semifinals of the Winston Open with a win for Baez in three-set matches, and Baez has been pretty good this year at least he has already won 2 ATP 250 titles this year and he has a good chance of making it 3 if he can win against Jiri Lehecka in the final later, live the schedule quite busy so it will make him tired because Coric can already rest first, Likewise, Jiri Lehecka, who will face Aslan Karatsev in the first round, will get quite a tight fight.

This final will be quite a tight final, lasting 3 sets will be possible, because both of them have almost the same quality of play, and because in a few days they will immediately compete in the US Open, definitely hope that there will be no rain that can disrupt the match schedule, and in the US Open they will face quite tough opponents, playing effectively in this final will really help to rest faster for both player.

Oh wow, really didnt expect that outcome and for coric to loose that match, In my mind that
final is now more unpredictable. Maybe back each for a set anyway

Finally Baez have won the match against Coric 6-3 6⁴-7⁷ 6²-7⁷. The final is between Baez and Lehecka. Earlier both have met in two matches and each have won in a match. Lehecka have won in an ITF event and Baez have won in the Davis Cup. We can expect the match to be competing.

The match between Coric and Baez have begun and Baez have won the first set 6-3 and leads the second set 3-1 which means the higher chance of winning is with Baez. Everyone were predicting it to be a final between Coric and Lehecka, now it looks different. Baez have taken medical timeout which is unexpected and this could be advantageous for Coric.

Murray to start against the bad boy of French tennis Corentin Moutet. Korda unlucky again as Fucsovics can be a challenging opponent. But the most unlucky guys seem to be Bublik, who is facing Domi Thiem and Tsitsipas who's to meet Milos Raonic. Thiem is a dangerous opponent no matter what form he's in. Raonic is an ex-top-ten player can certainly give Stefanos a good fight. Karatsev v Lehecka is an unbelievable treat for round 1. Could have easily been a quarterfinal as well. 

The walkover from Korda have confirmed the win of Lehecka into the finals. The second semi final is the only match left in the ATP Winston -Salem. Coric is termed to be the favourite against the player Baez, and this is going to be the first encounter between the two players. For the finals it is going to be Coric, lets wait for the end result and sometimes match will be a fighting than one sided.

Just checking in on the scores from yesterdays late matches and todays too and see that
Lehecka has a walkover into the final - Wow I watched some of the Korda v Gasquet match
yesterday and TBH Gasquet pushed Korda right to the limit in that 16 point 3rd set tie break.
Its a pity for Korda, he was just getting back to winning ways after being injured last year

Coric did the business against Cerundolo and will most likely progress past Baez to get to
the final, he is obvious favourite at 1.5 which is not bad against Baez @ 2.65, I'm backing
Coric again and if he makes it he should take the title too IMO

I have seen this happening with a lot of players. The players are definitely in some kind of trouble when they face any kind of injury.  And it is definitely a big problem for them. They are just starting to get into form. A player can definitely lose his good form because of injuries. But this is definitely a good news for Lehecka. He is getting a free win because of this. It is still not decided who he is going to face in the finals. But he is definitely going to take the free win.

The next match would have been between Lehecka and Korda. Unfortunately, Korda had to cancel it because he got an ankle injury in the quarterfinal against Gaquet. So Lehecka is in the final and will play against Coric or Baez.
Hopefully Korda will be fit again for the US Open. It would be a shame otherwise, because as you wrote, he is slowly getting back into form.

Both Lehecka and Korda are getting back into form in this tournament. We will see someone in the final from them the only thing that is worrying for them if they are gonna be ready for Us open next week . I think Korda can reach the final and maybe even win the entire tournament.

Along with Korda, Lehecka have confirmed the position on semifinals as he had won the match against Purcell on direct sets 7⁷-6⁴ 6-4.
The match between Coric and Cerundolo is scheduled to start within few minutes and I'm not sure about the winner, though the winning odds were in favour of Coric.

Cerundolo now plays top seed Coric who is the favourite at 1.23 and Cerundolo is unseeded,
could be a big ask for him today.

Korda has already beaten Gasquet to go to the semi final, he is seeded number 3.

Lehecka is 1 set up on Purcell and is seeded 5, these 3 top seeded guys are my pics to to through
today, 1 up with Korda.

In the match between Cerundolo and kumar the lead is with Cerundolo winning the first set 7-5.
Lehecka and Koepfer is hard fighting as both have won each set and the match is into the deciding set and there is chance for tie breaker.
Coric leads winning the first set 6-4 and the possible chance of win is for Coric.
