Luckily, Alcaraz Garfia was able to actually make a comeback happen. He did also lose the first set. But he fought really well to win the second and third set back to back. He deserved the win.
When Hubert Hurkacz won the first set easily and then proceed to win the games in the second set i did not expect Carlos Alcaraz to bring his top game and win that set and then in the third set Hubert Hurkacz made a rally for the tiebreaker and it was a great match and the odds were moving rapidly with each game.

Tonight he is playing against Tommy Paul and it is better to place a bet live and i am expecting another great match up.

Alcaraz actually lost against Tommy Paul. That was a huge surprise for me. I thought Alcatraz was going to win that match. But I think he is definitely suffering from lack of consistency. And honestly, this has not been something very new for him. He has gone through this type of inconsistency before as well. But it is time for him to actually fix these problems to be honest.

In the next match, Tommy Paul is going to play against Sinner. I am expecting a win for Sinner in that match. But of course surprises can happen just like the last match.

Perhaps another sensation in the making: De Minaur won the first set against Medvedev! 7:6 the Aussie took the tie-break 9:7. Medvedev wasn't very confident from the baseline and also conceded several double faults including one in the tie-breaker! How unfortunate for the Russian! Let's see how this one will play out...  Cool
I was having two players with most chances can dominate in future, but sadly both are going down badly with most chances they have no good future ahead of them if they are not going to have change Zverev and Medvedev both are having problems and not able to give their best De Minaur won two sets and now heading for the semifinal, Medvedev have four double faults in second set which give him defeat with the score of the 7 - 5.

Now the line-up is completed for the semifinals as we have Davidovich Fokina vs De Minaur and then Paul T vs Sinner J here I have my personal favorites for the final are De Minaur and Sinner, hopefully things will be OK for these exciting players.

Is it me or are the mens tournaments becoming as unpredictable as the WTA?
I think you're not the only one who think about it Grin .
Basically I see more and more players who manage to win because they are in better physical shape or simply have fewer injuries. Of course players of new generation have a natural advantage...

About Sinner. He is the favorite at this point in the tournament. let's see if he is able to guarantee adequate performance to his ranking  Roll Eyes
Now we are heading for the new era of tennis as big three's dominance is almost ended Nadal is injured and Federer is retired, and new generation players are not good as we are having in past too many injuries and many other factors are having their own risks for these youngsters with this all most chances we will have too many players with just few successes and then going into background like we have history of WTA even we all understand things as changing.

Recently there were hopes for few players for having better results, but these are not going to fill as expected but most chances they will keep things running in much better way and purpose of entertaining could be not like we have in last generation of legendary players.

Yea I had an interest in this because I had Medvedev to win but that result wan not
part of my script at all, well done to de Minaur though, he is doing a bit of a "Dan Evans"
ATM kind of coming from nowhere.

Also I'm delighted that Sinner beat Monfils to get to the other semi final with a match
up against Paul who beat Alcaraz! Sinner is the highest seeded player left !!

Kasatkina vs Rybakina. Both players were in great form in the round of 16. Rybakina knocked out Sloane Stephens in two sets and was never seen in great danger, although she fell back sometime in the second set. I can say that Kasatkina won comfortably against Marie Bouzkova, who defeated the fifth seed Caroline Garcia in the previous round. The duo played on the San Jose hard court in North America last year. Kasatkina won the third set 6-0 in that match. This will be an awkward matchup for 2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina. Kasatkina is probably the best of the round at creating wide angles with her forehand and moving her opponent in the process. Movement is Rybakina's biggest weakness. But many things will depend on how effective Rybakina is in service. A lively and beautiful match awaits us as a pleasure to watch.

Yapp, great review, I can add that Kasatkina needs more time for her clever clay-specialist kind of play. Something she won't have against a hard-hitting Rybakina on hard surface...

Swiatek v Collins under way now, I was hoping to see more resistance from Danielle, who was great so far in Montreal, but it seems Swiatek is just too good. The Pole is leading 4:1 in the first...

I am a little surprised that Rune and Rude lost. It was very close with Ruud. Fokina had the better nerves in the end.

It is a pity that Raonic is already out.

For Hurkacz it looked really good against Alcaraz. He won the first set, lost the second set in a tiebreak and in the third set he fought off two match points from Alcaraz at 5:3. And then later even a break. But in the tiebreak Alcaraz was better again and won the match.

Murray unfortunately could not play his match against Sinner due to an abdominal muscle injury. So Sinner reached the quarter-finals with only one match played.

Hurkacz played really good and came back so many times when he was out but just couldnt hit the big points in the tie break to try and win the match. Alcaraz keeps on winning after wimbledon and just cannot be stopped by anyone. Too bad about Murray, this could have been a good match.

Murray unfortunately could not play his match against Sinner due to an abdominal muscle injury. So Sinner reached the quarter-finals with only one match played.

talking about Jannik Sinner, today he plays against Gael Monfils, and I'm thinking of betting on him, but as he only played one game this week and benefited from Andy Murray's injury and also looking at the fact that Gael Monfils despite being in the position number 276 and in this tournament having managed to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas, honestly I see the value of that odd of 1.29 in favor of Stefanos Tsitsipas in case he wins this game as being a very low odd, so I am hesitating to put this game in my bet multibet. Jannik Sinner had more rest time for this game, but Andy Murray is doing well. so I see this odd increasing during the game, if it increases maybe I'll consider making a simple bet on Jannik Sinner to win

Carlos Alcaraz will play against Tommy Paul, in this game Carlos Alcaraz comes as the favorite, he who currently occupies the number 1 position while his opponent occupies the number 14 position and has not yet won any very relevant competition this season, but he managed to becoming vice champion of the ATP Eastbourne and ATP Acapulco, in this tournament he beat Diego Schwartzman and Francisco Cerundolo and Marcos Giro. looking at the performance of Tommy Paul and Carlos Alcaraz, in my opinion Carlos Alcaraz will win this game, I don't see Carlos Alcaraz having big problems to win

Daniil Medvedev will play against Alex de Minaur, currently Medvedev occupies the number 3 position, he beat Matteo Arnaldi, Lorenzo Musetti while his opponent Alex de Minaur currently occupies the number 18 position and in this tournament he beat Cameron Norrie and Gabriel Dialo and surprisingly he managed to beat Taylor Fritz, so this Medvedev game will not be an easy game, but I don't see Medvedev losing in this game, so my guess is that Medvedev will win this game, when I see odds of 1.33 for high ranking tennis players the first thing that crosses my mind is that it will be a game in which the opponent can surprise and the bookmakers are already looking at that

The second set Hurkacz managed to break Alcaraz's early games but the Spaniard was indeed able to keep playing at his best and troubled Hurkacz, two tie breaks Alcaraz played more solidly and didn't let his opponent get many points, and took both tie breaks well to be able to the quarterfinals and will face American tennis player Tommy Paul.
The first match today will be an even match, A. Davidovich Fokina vs M. McDonald are both unseeded players, but Fokina made it to the quarterfinals quite impressive because he got rid of two seeded players, and his game yesterday was very good by beating Casper Ruud, I predict this will be a very tight match, MacKenzie McDonald has never won a single title and his best ranking was 48 and that was last year, but his game often troubles top players and he can surprise by putting up a tough fight for Fokina in today's match because on this match Fokina is the favorites.

I am a little surprised that Rune and Rude lost. It was very close with Ruud. Fokina had the better nerves in the end.

In the last match of Rune, the loss was really unexpected. When he was able to win the second set after losing the first one, I thought he’s going to make a good comeback. But that did not happen.

Rudd vs Fokina was also very competitive from the start. The same story here. After Rudd was able to win the second set, I thought he was going to make a comeback. But the last set was lost by him, even though it was really competitive.

Sinner got a free pass to the quarter-final. And the quarter-final match is also not going to be very hard for him in my opinion.

Disgusting to allow Fokina back in after breaking him right from the start of third set. Just as I was beginning to think Ruud's boring consistency might pay off with another strong showing, he slips up to a lesser man (all due respect to Fokina).

I agree that as it stands Alcaraz is kind of a finalist guarantee. No chat about
Medvedev so far, he plays Musetti and is favourite to win @ 1.15 or 1.55 with -3.5 handicap
He is on his favourite surface now after all...

Was never putting money on him to even get to the final but at the rate everyone else is dropping like flies...

... maybe de Minaur worth a punt?

Honestly speaking is anyone really so surprised by Tsitsi and Rune exits? Seeding and ranking aside I can't see these two as serious contenders and I think we are netter served seeing their opponrnts progress.

Sinner, I like, Ruud, while nor a fan, should make it to semis but Alcaraz will fancy himself any day over all these -- call me an underestimator too but once more, ranking aside, Medvedev is probably the weakest finalist along the seeds left and I would prefer to see someone else against Alca.

Nope, bit surprised with Tsitsipas bowing out early in the competition, a bit surprised
that it was against Monfils though.

And also surprised with Rune being beaten by Giron again so early in the competition.

Seeded #2 definitely one to watch

Watching Medvedev v Musetti right now. Perhaps a nice opportunity to place a late bet. Medvedev is up 6:4, 3:2 and chances look great for him. I placed my bet before the match started and it's on the Russian. Hard is Daniil's favourite surface after all...

Alexander Zverev has not been able to show consistency again, because he lost to the Spaniard in two sets even if judge at the score because I didn't watch the match it was not a very tight match.
All the seeded tennis players are still progressing comfortably except for Rublev, Rune, and Tsitsipas who lost to their opponents. Tsitsipas lost in straight sets to veteran tennis player Monfils, and he has the same fate as Evans, who in the previous week became the winner in a different tournament but failed to last longer in this more prestigious tournament. Rune lost to Giron quite surprised and in the third set he look fatigued and Giron can take the set relatively easily.

Later in the match, Casper Ruud will face Fokina who managed to beat Zverev, Ruud sometimes doesn't play consistently and he is the favorite in this match but not with convincing odds, so we can judge that Fokina has a chance to surprise this match to get rid of this seeded player, and this is will be a very close match.
Milos Raonic played against McDonald who beat Rublev and it will also be one of those close matches and it is quite difficult to predict who will win because both are pretty good players.
Currently he is 16th seed ranked in ATP and few days back won his first title in 2023 when he beats Djere in Hamburg, but surely he needs to be consistent with matches like these surely not hard to, but his consistency is never been as par his standard because few years back he was one of the best rising star but due to injury and this inconsistency he is losing this all right now just 26 years old have good career ahead of him he needs to be improved player.

We have few more upsets in this event which is clearly showing now things are never been easy as many youngsters are trying to have their mark for the better results and better spot in this game but which will be able to have better consistency he could be surely at the top after these big three's dominance for the long time on these courts.
Today we are going to have few interesting matches as Fritz vs De Minaur and then Musett vs Medvedev, English legend Murray is going to face Sinner as well.

-snip-

Felix is in a really bad form this year and i think this is so far the worst year for him in his career. Plus he is still young so this might be a hard thing for him to overcome. He lost too many matches in the first round and that is shocking for a player that was in the very top
In 2022 Felix played pretty well and he even managed to become the second tennis player from Canada who has the highest ATP ranking, which is ranked 6th and the decline in his playing this year was so unexpected that many people said he had lost confidence when competing against tennis players who in better taste.
Felix suffered a defeat yesterday when he met Purcell and in that match it was clear that Purcell was dominating the game on the field.
Yesterday he should have been able to play well and at least be able to provide a balanced play for Purcell but in reality everything didn't turn out as expected.

After Felix AA was eliminated in the first round in Washington, he did not get far in Canada either. He lost to Purcell from Australia in two sets in the first round. This is the sixth tournament this year that he has to leave after the first round. We had already talked about him a few days ago, but losing in front of the home crowd is anything but good for him and his self-confidence. Especially one day after his birthday.
