Honestly speaking is anyone really so surprised by Tsitsi and Rune exits? Seeding and ranking aside I can't see these two as serious contenders and I think we are netter served seeing their opponrnts progress.

Sinner, I like, Ruud, while nor a fan, should make it to semis but Alcaraz will fancy himself any day over all these -- call me an underestimator too but once more, ranking aside, Medvedev is probably the weakest finalist along the seeds left and I would prefer to see someone else against Alca.

Alexander Zverev has not been able to show consistency again, because he lost to the Spaniard in two sets even if judge at the score because I didn't watch the match it was not a very tight match.

Very disappointing performance from Zverev. He lost his very first serve with 0 points and Davidovich Fokina had made his break point early. After that Zverev didn't come back into the match and lost his first set after 24 minutes. Especially his first serve was bad. Only 56 percent were in the court.

In the Italian duel, Sinner showed clearly why he is ranked 8th (Berrettini ATP 38).

Alcaraz vs Shelton.
Shelton did not have good chances in the first set. But I liked the second set. Some of his sets when he was serving himself, he won very clearly. Then in the tiebreak he seems to have had no more nerves and contentration.

All the seeded tennis players are still progressing comfortably except for Rublev, Rune, and Tsitsipas who lost to their opponents.

I did not expect that the 3 are out already.

All the seeded tennis players are still progressing comfortably except for Rublev, Rune, and Tsitsipas who lost to their opponents. Tsitsipas lost in straight sets to veteran tennis player Monfils, and he has the same fate as Evans, who in the previous week became the winner in a different tournament but failed to last longer in this more prestigious tournament. Rune lost to Giron quite surprised and in the third set he look fatigued and Giron can take the set relatively easily.

Later in the match, Casper Ruud will face Fokina who managed to beat Zverev, Ruud sometimes doesn't play consistently and he is the favorite in this match but not with convincing odds, so we can judge that Fokina has a chance to surprise this match to get rid of this seeded player, and this is will be a very close match.
Milos Raonic played against McDonald who beat Rublev and it will also be one of those close matches and it is quite difficult to predict who will win because both are pretty good players.

Daniel evans performance in washington atp was really unexpected and mind blowing after having some difficulties this year he come in the competition and beaten a lot of tough players in the process and won the title congrats to him it seems at this age he can still be in the spotlight.

But not! he lost yesterday against Diallo, maybe he actually did party too much
after winning his first ATP500 title!

I'm very happy to learn that Raonic beat Daniel to set up a round of 16 against McDonald
who himself beat the number 6 seed Rublev.

Medvedev is in action now against Sonego, I have him to win which he should do and
also Musetti who is playing Kokkinakis now and is behind by 1 set, hopefully he can
win this.

Currently match between young Gabriel Diallo and 33 years old Dan Evans is going on. The match is going neck to neck as consecutive points comes between the players. However it is predicted to be a winning match for Diallo as he had won against Evans in his earlier matches.

The first set of the match was really incredible and very close. It is clear that Diallo had to work really hard to win the first set. Actually the second set was not as much of a competition as the first set, Diallo was able to take both sets and win the match. Nevertheless, it remains undeniable that both sets brimmed with a commendable level of competitiveness. I just wish Dan could be able to take a set, because then the match was going to become more complextive.

After Felix AA was eliminated in the first round in Washington, he did not get far in Canada either. He lost to Purcell from Australia in two sets in the first round. This is the sixth tournament this year that he has to leave after the first round. We had already talked about him a few days ago, but losing in front of the home crowd is anything but good for him and his self-confidence. Especially one day after his birthday.

A few days earlier Daniel Evans had just become the ATP 500 champion in Washington and seeing him knocked out immediately in a bigger tournament and from a player ranked outside the 100th was quite a surprise, as his performances in previous tournaments had been quite impressive.
Casper Ruud was finally able to beat Lehecka in two sets after the first set had some difficulties but during the tie break Ruud managed to handle his opponent well and the second set was relatively easy for Ruud to beat Lehecka, and today the top players will have their first match.
Alcaraz will face young American tennis player Ben Shelton, Shelton is a pretty good player but he still hasn't shown consistency. This will be an interesting match because the two of them are young, they often play more attractively, the ball rally won't be boring, as usual, Alcaraz will get odds which is very low because apart from being the first seed he is also quite a consistent player in his performances and after winning his second GS title his appearance in this tournament will be highly anticipated.

After the Wimbledon Title win from Vondrousova more people have started following her games. In the Canada National Bank Open she had progressed to the round of 32 winning against Mayar Sherif 6-4 6-2 on direct sets. All the top seeds have reached the round of 32 and the upcoming days have got good Matches to watch after little break.

A bit overlooked event: Wozniacki's return on tour at Montreal Canadian Open. Exciting match today against an Aussie Kim Birrell. Caro won the match without much effort 6:2, 6:2. She is playing the same tennis she used to play before the pause: she is ultra-defensive, trying to get every ball in. She is going to face Marketa Vondrousova or  Mayar Sherif in the second round.

Yea I just caught the last 5 minutes of that match, interesting to see her back but the
real test will be her performance against higher ranked players.

And again as per bct_ail Raonic had a big win against Tiafoe today. Great to see him back
playing. It seems like more than 2 years since I saw him. playing at his best. Nice to see him
along with Wawrinka and Thiem back playing.

Wins by Murray and Zverev today along with Humbert, It will be interesting to see how far
he gets!

Milos Raonic was injured for a long time and had to deal with many setbacks.
Now he showed in the match against Tiafoe why he was at rank 3 ATP. The first set went to Tiafoe 14:12 in a tiebreak. But set 2 in a tiebreak and set 3 with 6:3 showed that he can play again. Congratulations to him. At 32, a really great performance. The last 2 years were not easy for him.
Now he will play against Daniel from Japan who beat Mannarino. Could be a match to watch.

Washington DC WTA final: Sakkari v Gauff. My bet will be on the American in this one.

The victory went to Gauff. Important win for her after she was lost in Wimbledon in round 1. But in Wahshington it was a hard court and not grass like in Wimbledon.

It was a very strong performance by Gauff, I really thought Sakkari would take the win.

On the mens side Evans won that in 2 sets, and the first ATP500 title of his career!
That performance kind of came from nowhere though, his season before that wasnt
great. Today he plays Diallo at the Canadian open. I wonder if he has partied
too much or can he continue his winning mentality at Canada....

Cerundolo is playing now against Galarneau (Candian player) in Toronto atp master 1000.

What is really strange in this match was the odd... Cerundolo to win.
At start of the match was @1.35/1.40.
After he scored the first break point @1.20
After he scored the second break point @1.10.
Never seen such high odds in similar event, [Cerundolo leading 5-2]

The only interesting tournament this week seems to be the tournament in Toronto, Canada. Singles and doubles will be played. Alcaraz, Rune, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Ruud, Medvedev, Zverev are just some of the players who will surely provide excitement. Especially because it is a hardcourt tournament.

Washington DC WTA final: Sakkari v Gauff. My bet will be on the American in this one. Sakkari has been playing really well so far. Frankly, I was surprised she defeated Pegula in the semifinal. But final is a different story: we all know Sakkari has a final phobia and only won a single title in her career back in 2019. Additionally, Gauff is an American and will be doing her best to win a title on her home soil.

I'm going with Sakkari, I think this is her time to win another title and yes she hasnt
reached any finals in the last few years. She is underdog slightly behind Coco at 2.10,
Coco is 1.75.

On the mens side again at Washington a totally unpredicted result in one of
the semi finals, Griekspoor beat Fritz to go to the final and play against Evans who beat
Dimitrov today also, thats a totally unpredictable final and hard to pick a winner there.

Well with Felix AA its a mental issue, he has the talent and I think this is what a lot
of people were basing their future predictions on but its difficult to factor in to a
prediction a players mental outlook, choices or strength.

snip

That is exactly the same with Kyrgios; he is extremely talented and can beat the best if he really wants it. Look at Wimbledom last year where he managed to get the finals, not a lot of people saw that coming also. But in a lot of smaller tournaments, he is not in the mood to play, jokes around and simply doesn't care.
Tennis is a game that I much about stamina. If the player goes down, then it is really hard to make a comeback in the match. To run around the court throughout the match is not an easy thing. Underdogs winning matches have turned to be very common with most of the sports. One important thing, the competence have gone to the peak and when one wasn't able to make themselves strong they go mentally down.

I think that this was related some health issue. Its the first time I have seen in a live match, interesting to place a bet Wink

Obviously, it was because of some health issues. Actually, I am not sure what the reason was! It would be really helpful if someone could tell me the reason.

mm, I googled a lot, but I did not find any actual news about it. So I do not want to say anything about something I don’t have a clear idea about. I hope he is alright though.

Just over!
Baez has won (6-3/6-1) against Dominic Thiem in Kitzbuhel. Yesterday the Austria player was able to fight (and win) after three sets against Djere but today there was no match (even if the odds were definitely good related final win of Baez).

Sebastian displayed exceptional performance throughout the match, leaving no opportunity for Dominic to seize, truth be told. His victory was not only convincing but rather an exhibition of undeniable skill. This was a two sets match, both of which witnessed Sebastian's unwavering control, rendering Dominic powerless. It was Sebastian all the way. A dominating performance from Sebastian to win the final.
