Ishant hitting four , beautiful sight  Cheesy
Third boundary.  Ishant needs only 25 runs to score his first 50 if your research is correct. India needs only 48 runs to score 400 runs. I still do not see a good future for WI.

Where is weather man Vishnu? :-P

Edit: Ishant! Ishant!! another one!!!

And Sharma already took 8 wickets in this series meaning he is in good shape.

Looks like a 450+ score would be good enough to defend for India and there are chances they could win the match and one innings. Virat and Vihari have outperformed for the team but just wish atleast Vihari can reach 100 else Jadeja is still on strike (run out chance missed, glad).
Achievable (400+) however they just lost Ravindra Jadeja. Vihari is fully set and he can easily add 100+ more runs with the tail enders. I am not seeing much hope for WI from here. Indian bowling attack is not going to let them manage them 300+ runs in their first innings.

Mohammed Shami, JJ Bumrah are hard to play. And Sharma already took 8 wickets in this series meaning he is in good shape.

Jadeja gone ...

450 ?? i hope you are not expecting Ishant sharma to score all the runs Cheesy now best bet for India is to reach 370-90 runs, Jadeja's silly shot changed the situation. now windies can really hope to wrap up tailenders quickly, luckily Gabriel bowling good as well and fifer should come to Jason holder.

Great news. I am very confident that Australia will take this one with Starc coming in. No batsman is safe once Starc gets going. With Anderson coming back, this is going to be one heck of a match.

The Australian selectors needs to be fired. I have seen many instances in which a bowler was picked over a better alternative. But this is the first time in my life I am witnessing the best bowler in the team overlooked in favor of an average performer. Imagine India going to a match without Jasprit Bumrah, or New Zealand without Trent Boult.

It's good news from both sides. Anderson was injured so he was out but Starc's one will be always questionable.

India should touch at least 350 scores from here. But when talking about the ideal scenario, India might want to bat around 2 more session that means almost 50-60 overs. If Hanuma Vihari and Pant along with lower-order can show little resistance, then they can fancy their chances of getting close to 400 or maybe more Runs.
400+ is very possible. India will need to play session wise. If they gave give a high score in the first innings then WI will be in pressure from the beginning when they will come for batting. May be a follow on? I see this test is going borking (unless WI shows some batting) LOL

It looks like Strac will play the fourth test match for Australia which is good news and hopefully he can give Australia the spark they need after losing the third test after having all the momentum. Not sure what will happen to Smith though after not making many runs in the tour match but then again he didn't do all that good before the Ashes anyway however he could still be not 100% right after the hit in the neck from the second test match. If he isn't 100% then there is no point risking him as Australia did okay without him.
That was just a warm up innings. Smith is the man and he will show his class in the final time.

310-320 seems more likely which is a great score for India to defend especially since boom boom Bumrah is in epic form currently. This looks like another easy win for India in my opinion.

For windies perspective situation is not very good despite their early success, Gabriel had a bad day so not a good sign for Jason holder on this Green pitch, and they are one seamer short here. Hopefully, Gabriel will bounce back on the second day so that they can wrap up remaining batsmen cheaply. Otherwise, they can say Sayonara to this series.

350 looks very likely. West Indies had a good chance to limit India to less than 250, when they had them at 202/5. But they allowed Pant and Vihari to build a good partnership. Holder was the only bowler who looked threatening. Cornwall was the worst and never looked like he is going to trouble the batsmen. Still don't know why he was picked as a spin bowling option, when had better choices.

From their body language and style of play, it looked like the WI players are not really pushing hard for a victory. Their morale seems to be down and it was like they had accepted the defeat even before the first ball was bowled. Individual brilliance from some of the WI players could be noticed, but in general the team bonding and cohesion was lacking.

It's over now almost. I don't expect Hanuma Vihari and Pant will do wonders but still they are not like noob actually.
With the way the match is going India will cross almost 300 runs and that is not a bad score in the pitch, i am yet to see Vihari play but he is scoring runs for India in this series and with the bowling line up India has it is a really good score as i cannot see any really consistent player in the West Indies team. The domestic circuit in India is strong and so is the reason they are producing quality players.
Any score 300+ surely is going to be good for India as their bowling is very good and West Indian batting is ordinary they still need some good time to fix these problems and India is not going to give them this chance as right now they have some good chance for gaining good points and surely they are not going to miss this golden opportunity.

With the test championship started each team will like to make maximum gains by winning that game and tournament and take those extra points by winning the series. So India will play its best players in this match as well.

Needs to be careful here. If one more wicket falls, then the noobs will come to bat (Hanuma Vihari & Rishabh Pant).

It's over now almost. I don't expect Hanuma Vihari and Pant will do wonders but still they are not like noob actually. Vihari is kinda Test face but most of us are unfamiliar while on other hand Pant is more like a T-20,ODI player so it's kinda pretty challenging task for him. I still hope for at least 100-150 runs out of the remaining batsman. Rest you know how our bowling gets the WI  Wink

Mayank Agarwal was batting so well and he got out needlessly just now. There was no need to play that shot, as the ball was close to his body, at a good height. Kohli was building a good partnership with him, and now he needs to take help from Ajinkya Rahane. Needs to be careful here. If one more wicket falls, then the noobs will come to bat (Hanuma Vihari & Rishabh Pant). And after that, the tail will start with Ravindra Jadeja.

One more doubt is that, is there a rule change in Test cricket that they can have a substitute player if someone is injured, during Ashes second Test i saw Marnus Labuschagne coming in to bat instead of Smith as he was injured and i did not see them announcing the 12th man, can they select anyone in the squad randomly, anyone having any idea regarding that.

Yeah, this is new rule under only concussion replacement - suspected concussion replacement. where substitute can bat, ball or WK in this scenario

ICC Approves Like-for-like Substitution for Concussion in All International Cricket
Edit- Is that me who got the wicket  Grin

Haha tell me about it Cheesy

Edit2:
Big man got his first wicket. India are two down now.

Poor Pujara, losing his form against Windies, despite winning the battle against OZ fast battery

Sky Sports have made live streaming available for free, to global audience.

Is that same Sky Sports who refused to show Opening Pre Match show in the beginning of the Ashes. anyway thanks to Ben Stokes's inning now they are airing everything free, win for cricket lovers.

India vs West Indies:

India lost one wicket, Holder was the man and it was an easy catch for new comer Cornwall. That guy can ball too. He is huge!

Edit: Agarwal is charging him.

Maybe he is not feeling like playing like in Ashes or putting it up hard on himself. That's the side some player has when they know a big match or competition is coming up ahead and not to push hard when you just got recovered.
Yeah it's a practice match. There are no need to take it seriously. Smith will be needed in the 4th test. I hope Warner gets some run too.
