Lower order and tailenders can only delay the outcome, unless both Sunder- Ashwin produce some blinder.

England dominated the match and it is great to see India getting dominated from visiting teams and the bowlers were able to pick 6 wickets and now the tail end players are in the crease, Sundar and Ashwin can only delay the duration of the match and they are playing a patient innings and they still trail by 345 runs but i doubt England will enforce the follow on because the bowlers are tired and they might play a couple of session if that situation arises.

You cannot expect rain in Chennai during this period, so that is out of the way Grin

. Rishabh Pant is counter attacking and playing as if he is playing the shorter format with a strike rate of 143. He is looking to disrupt the line and length of Leach and if he gets out in this period it will be disaster but if he gets through and score a big hundred it will be great.

If India bats longer then the match will end up in a draw, it all depends upon how much runs India will be able to put on the board in the first innings. India needs to build partnership and they can save the match.

The first target for the india team is to save the follow-on and the exact target for that is 378. India still have to make around 170+ runs to avoid it. For this to happen the rest of the batsmen need to support Pant who is looking good at 85 not out. If he could stay and avoid the follow-on, india could think of saving this match.

Indian team always need a wake up call before any big series so consider this blessing in disguise. I am positive that Rohit/Kohli both going to get big runs soon and Team will come back hard at England.

Draw would be too bad for this series, England played excellent cricket and they deserve to win if they are able to maintain the momentum.

But I am skeptical about Kohli's captaincy if India loses this Test series somehow. In the next series, Rahane may be given the responsibility of captaining the Test match

It will be interesting to see how well India will go batting as chasing over 550 runs is a huge task however they are playing on home soil so I won't be counting them out yet. India could potentially bat for the next two days and get a lead of say 100+ runs and have England try and survive on the last day which they might find it difficult. Yes it will be interesting to see if India lose the series, what will happen with Kohli remaining captain.

I guess we are lacking one pacer to be honest because we can't expect the 2 pacers to bowl all day or at least the inclusion of Pandya might give them an option but now only two bowlers with less variety then it is impossible to take wickets in the initial days. It is not going to be that much easier when Indian batsmen come to the crease because already 2 days gone so there will be a lot of wear in the pitch so it can reap more spin and that is exactly the advantage of winning the toss for them.
