England batting line up is in shambles and it's just 12th over of their 1st inning. Boult single handedly destroyed the English's Top order and Southee-Wagner duo also doing their job and running through over Poms.

And here we go 6th wicket down.

Another match but same performance by Bairstow. 130 runs in just 126 balls in a test match is just unbelievable. The English side was struggling before this guy started hitting them everywhere on the ground. The ball was swinging but he used that swing to his benefit. If he continues to play tomorrow then NZ can forget this match too.

It was a really good performance from Bairstow and Overton. I have to say they are basically playing t20 and one-day international cricket in the test format.

From 55 for 6 to 264 for 6 is really a great comeback. Now if they were unable to survive the initial slot on the first session, the next day I think they will be able to get a lot more runs on the board. England is steel trailing by 65 runs and I think it is going to be a good amount of lead taken by England if they are able to play well on the next day.
This is not only comeback I am feeling this is going to turn test match into England's favor Bairstow is butcher by nature, and we already have his amazing knock in last test match where he plays in under pressure and give England good win now again after few days he is doing his duty at very crucial time when England were down by 55 for 6. Overton playing his first test match player like very solid all-rounder which England were looking for some time, hopefully he will be able to have his place in this team for long time because first test and performance like this is surely going to be great for this young kid.

Bangladesh are again struggling and giving wickets like crap, hopefully West Indies will fix them in quick way because now they are the worst team and have no chance for recovery in this format.

Nothing comes before the Indian vs Pakistan series on any format. The amount of enthusiasm and uncertainty that comes on my mind by just imagining a game between the two arch rival is unimaginable. The only hope now left to watch these two countries play will be in an ICC trophy.

Such a series would bring windfall in revenues for both the BCCI and PCB. But the problem here is that the BCCI is awash with cash after the auction of the IPL media rights, and they are not really concerned about any shortfall arising as a result of the India vs Pakistan series not happening. As things stand, the PCB will be more concerned about the series when compared to the BCCI. I sincerely hope that all the politics will be set aside some time in the future and the series will go ahead. That needs moderation from both the sides.
When there is a match between India and Pakistan. The both sides are as active as the whole nation is fighting against the other. Smiley
Still after 75 years of separation they would never forget what has happened in 1947. But now people are having a softer mindset - but then again the match is real treat.

If these both play like this for some more overs than surely England are going to take lead, and they can go for whitewash because they already settle their collapse which is amazing fight back from these both for their team and this can turn tables into their favor without any problem.
It was an incredible comeback and i did not expect them to be hanging in there like that after loosing 6 wickets for just 55 runs and then to make a comeback from Jonny Bairstow who is playing like he is in a ODI game with a strike rate of above 100 and Jamie Overton making his debut and then contributing with his bat in a crucial situation is outstanding.

England only trail by 65 runs and they will be taking the lead unless New Zealand will be able to break the partnership in the morning session.

The way some English batters are playing. I think they are going to change the mindset of many cricketers in red ball cricket.

That's what they call cashing after the tea (They added 170+ runs in final session) Grin It was somewhat started by Pant in Australia but Bairstow is taking this into another level.

Even the previous test match had similar pattern of scoring. England after losing its 6th wicket at 55 runs and now reaching 264 runs in 49 overs is an drastic comeback. It looks like England is maintaining good run rate. This match too gets the result and the match seems to be more closer in the end days.

West Indies once again won the toss and put Bangladesh to bat first and it looks like they are repeating the same performance as the last match as they already lost 6 wickets for 138 runs.
Bangladesh player Litton is on the crease. Losing his wicket will end the innings within 200 runs. This can be an easy winning match for West Indies.

And here we go 6th wicket down.
From now on, English batters can dismantle below 80-100!

would they be able to survive the follow on ?
We were wrong i suppose.

Some nice partnership building up for the England and it's going strong, it's already crossed 100 runs stand for the 7 wicket and if they stick around for 1 more session then it could be  match saving partnership for poms.
What a fight back from England through Bairstow and Overton these both bring back England into match with 55/6 now 255/6 very aggressive second consecutive centuries from Bairstow and first test playing Overton is also doing amazing job with his bat as right now he is in nerves nineteens with the help of this partnership now England is trailing by 89 runs a good recovery.

England had won both the first two tests against New Zealand, therefore i was not expecting this sort of poor batting performance from them in the 3rd test. Either they are not taking this match series as they have already won the series or they are under pressure after NewZealand scores a decent total of 329.
Since they have lost 6 wickets quickly, would they be able to survive the follow on ?

England batted horribly. English captain Ben Stokes plays like he's playing the 18th over of a T20 game. A big thanks goes to Trent Boult's absolute perfection, this trend started with burns and will continue. From now on, English batters can dismantle below 80-100!

Finally Mitchell made crossed hundred runs. The innings reached 300+ runs with the performance of Mitchell and Blundell. 329 runs is really good score and England have started its innings. From the very beginning England seems struggling. England have lost 4 wickets scoring 37 runs with Stokes and Bairstow on crease.
What a batting disaster of England cricket team. They have lost their 6th wicket just now. Perhaps, England won't be able to make a good score in the first innings. I think they will fall in the follow on. Now I don't see any chance for England in this match. Bairstow is the only hope for England at this moment.

England tries to keep New Zealand under pressure from the start. Broad, in particular, took two wickets easily which limited the opponent's run. A total of 5 wickets have fallen so far but New Zealand have got an attempt to turn around. Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell are doing great. A competitive match is expected.
If England's bowlers can't pick up Mitchel and Blundell's two wickets early in the second day, then New Zealand will be able to collect 350 or 400 runs. Apart from these two batsmen, there is no other experienced batsman in the New Zealand squad now. If England can't take all the wickets in the first session then maybe we will see New Zealand dominate in today's match too.
Only these two have consistently performed throughout the test series. If they both get out in the first session then it would be difficult for the NZ to even score 300 runs. Again a disappointing performance by the NZ batters. One of the biggest example of bad luck was Nicholls getting out yesterday.

New Zealand was pushed at the beginning of the second day. They lost Tom Blundell's wicket. Blundell returned to the dressing room after collecting 55 runs. Daryl Mitchel is still at the crease with 82 runs. As long as he stays at the crease, New Zealand's big collection hopes will survive. New Zealand scored 256 runs. Probably their innings could end in 320.
Mitchell is now focused on getting his 100. I think he might start going after the bowlers after his century. NZ has already lost 7 wickets and are on 282 runs. Again a very agressive bowling by the English side. I hope NZ is able to cross the 350 runs barrier as I think this will be a tough for the English team to chase that target.

From 123/5, New Zealand managed to reach 225/5. England selectors did the usual mistake by dropping James Anderson (as far as I know, he was not injured). For the first two matches, Anderson was the best bowler for the Poms as he took a total of 11 wickets. I don't have anything against the younger bowlers. But they are being given a lot of chances and still I am not noticing any consistency in their performance. Yesterday it was the turn of Matthew Potts and Jamie Overton. Conceded 69 runs between them, and took just one wicket (that of Devon Conway).

Right now Mitchell and Blundell are batting really well. As you have mentioned, they formed a good partnership. And they took New Zealand out of a weird situation in my opinion. Actually, the situation could have been really bad without this partnership. I hope these two will be able to continue for a long time on the second day as well.

It is also true that if James Anderson was in the England bowling lineup I think this partnership might have been broken as well. Let's hope that England will be able to get some early wickets on the second day in the first session.
