In Search of Incredible
Guess no more batting collapse in this test match, Kiwis are going strong and keep moving scoreboard at a good pace, now it seems that first day collapse was because of rustiness.
My only hope is on English batters, i hope they don't disappoint their fans and show some village cricket level collapse when chasing.  Tongue
New Zealand has made a very strong comeback in day 2. Although their batting lineup collapsed at the start of the second innings, but still they turned the game on their favour with the 5th wicket partnership. We have seen the fall of 6 wickets in the first session of today. Don't know what has changed in the pitch today, but we may see the batting lineup collapsed again in the day 3. England has used their spin bowlers today. Perhaps, it won't be easy for England to win the match by chasing the target. New Zealand has already taken a good lead in this condition.

@Rigon Well done bro for quoting 3 year old post. I hope OP response to your comment.

Edit

Naseer Husain and Atherton are pure gold.

It is now 214 for 4. Tom Blundell is unbeaten on 80 and Daryl Mitchell is unbeaten on 85 runs. They are now set at the crease. So the fall of these two wickets will be very difficult for England bowlers now. However, after these two batsmen are out, New Zealand's innings may not be long-lasting. However, England's batsmen are very talented. However, if the target is more than 300, it will be difficult to win the match. However, this is not impossible.
Talented on shithousery barring few but i do hope they put up a good show for the spectators.

I'm fine with anything be it batting collapse (prefer this one  Grin) or record breaking chase.

LOL England 52/7 and against a team like Ireland. I still don't know when this Irish team got Test status. I think it's the over confidence which caused this damage for England. If this was Australia or any other strong team then we would not see this score board. The batsmen were more sensible then.

I am looking for a channel to see some of the overs LOL

I wonder if this is the bowling or the batsmen playing bad shot.
If there is one team in Test cricket, it is England. But what England have done with Ireland in Test cricket at the moment is really ridiculous. The game of cricket requires a lot of skill but England is unable to show it fully against Ireland. My idea is that England will turn around again.

Actually, I was really surprised to see the collapse of English batsmen. After their great performance in the bowling department, I thought they would be able to back it up with some good performance with the bat but by 75 runs they look really good but after that, the collapse started.

I believe that New Zealand is playing really well right now and they are playing carefully. I honestly believe that they have a chance to win this match if they bat carefully and get a good total on the board. NZ leading by 216 runs and not even the 2nd day has come to an end. Looking forward to seeing a result in the test match.

New Zealand have scored 164 runs, and have not lost any wickets. Now they are in the lead of 155 runs. Blundell scored 60 and Darly Mitchell remained unbeaten on 56. They are batting very responsibly. While New Zealand is able to hit more than 250 targets, it is not surprising. And if the target is more than 200 then England is unlikely to win this match. Let's see what will be happen. England's batsmen ar experienced enough.

It is becoming more difficult for England to get back on track in this match. New Zealand scored 203 runs and is in the lead of 194 runs. It is very difficult to win by batting against more than 200 runs in the last innings on such a pitch. Since New Zealand has lost only 4 wickets. So it is expected that they will be able to collect more 60/70 runs very easily. It would be very difficult for England's batsmen to win this match if they set a target between 270-280.

England managed to collect 141 runs in their first innings. They were 9 runs ahead of New Zealand. Zak Crawlay scored the highest 43 runs for the team. New Zealand started batting in their second innings. And now their collection is 38/3. The first three top-order batsmen have returned to the dressing room. If New Zealand are able to deliver the target between 180-200 then maybe the match will be under their control. But it is very difficult to collect 200 runs on such a pitch.
Looking at the current state of affairs, 200 is definitely not an easy target. That said, the partnership between Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell has taken New Zealand to three digits. They are now 100/4. 40-year old James Anderson is once again shouldering the heaviest workload, along with Stuart Broad (Anderson has 645 wickets now, and I would love to see him getting 650 in this series). Matthew Potts took 2 wickets and his match total stands at 6. 40 plus overs remain for today's play and in case New Zealand manages to survive, then who knows, they may get to 200.

With Blundell and Mitchell leading the way, and with New Zealand leading by 150+ already, Kiwis are slowly taking control. Is it possible for them to declare and still win or are they going to continue to bat? It is possible that both Blundell and Mitchell will score centuries for New Zealand. Is the bowling pitch conducive to batting?

I don't understand what the hell is going on. England blasted out for just 141 runs. For heaven's sake, the pitch doesn't look that bad and it equally supports both the batsmen and the bowlers. And this is the same pitch where Zak Crawley and Alex Lees added 59 runs for the first wicket. What happened to the famed England middle order (Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes.etc)? I admit that New Zealand has the best pace attack in test format at this point. But England had the home advantage and in form batsmen. Really shameful.

We are in first session of Day 2 and 23 wickets have fallen. Both NZ and England failed miserably in first innings and NZ once again repeating batting performance in second innings. NZ top 3 gone just for 39 runs. May be we have result of this match today.

It is a really interesting match going on between New Zealand and England, i thought England would run away with the match when they restricted New Zealand for 132 runs and i was glad to see James Anderson and Stuart Broad playing together and England had a great start as they went wicketless for 59 runs and now they lost 7 wickets at the close of the day.

17 wickets in the first day and the match wont last in the final two days and the match is getting interesting as one good session with the bat will change the match.
Now i would like to see this match to finish with in 3 days so that i can witness epic meltdown from the fans and so called experts opinion on how test cricket is dying and batters can't play.

I feel for those spectators who bought the 4th-5th day ticket for 150 Pound.

New Zealand came back very strongly in the match, with wickets in the third session. England was in a very comfortable position at 92/2, and then there was a collapse. They lost 5 wickets for just 24 runs, with all the wickets being taken by pace bowlers. All of the New Zealand bowlers were impressive, including Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson (2 wickets apiece). And till now it is not clear whether England will get the first innings lead. They are still trailing by 16 runs and have only three wickets to spare.
They will easily get the lead but it won't be a big one that is for sure. This match as expected is very interesting as both teams are trying to dominate each other through bowlers. After Root got out three wicket had fallen very quickly. I pity stokes as a debutant captain his was only able to score a single run and get a single wicket.

The match will definitely be competitive, no doubt about it. After New Zealand lost all their wickets for just 132 runs, we thought we would see a one-sided match. But New Zealand's bowlers have done exceptionally well. Trent Boult bowled 10 overs and took 2 wickets for 15 runs. Since England's collection is now only 116/7 runs. So now it is difficult for them to collect 132 runs. Batting in the first session is hard work, on the other hand, it is a bowling-friendly pitch.

New Zealand and England are playing an interesting match right now, which I didn't expect. In this test, the Kiwis have come back strongly. There were 17 wickets taken on the first day at Lord's, which is a pure bowling pitch. Now that the game is open, anything can happen. As far as the second innings is concerned, the Kiwis will have a strong response.

England V New Zealand

I look forward to watching the first Test match between England and New Zealand. These two teams are very strong for the Test format. However, New Zealand's performance in the last few series was not as good as we expected. They also lost a Test match against a team like Bangladesh. But the New Zealand players are experienced enough. Hopefully they won't make any mistakes at Lord's. And we will have the opportunity to enjoy a competitive match.
Yes, this match will be intresting to watch. England lost its previous test series against West Indies but Newzealand were able to draw their previous series against South Africa. In my opinion Newzealand are still in a better position than the English side. The only advantage England has is that this match is being played in their home ground.

The match is being played at Lord's, England's home match, so I think the England team is the favorite in this match. The New Zealand team also played poorly in their last two series. They drew the series with South Africa and Bangladesh. Both teams are now very weak in the Test format. And so now it is very challenging for New Zealand to perform well against a strong team like England.

The pitch seems to favor the bowlers. At first, I thought that the English bowlers did an amazing job by bowling out the NZ side for just 132 runs then after seeing how the English batters played it seems that the pitch was made for bowlers. England still trails by 16 runs and have already lost 7 wickets.
In favour of bowlers, and both the teams have did the same against each other. Possibly England will score between 150-160 runs. Four more days left in the match with the increased winning chance for England. However there is no big difference between the team performance by the end of day 1. The match can turn towards New Zealand too.
